  • Few more months and im off to basic. 11b mos mechanized infantry god bless our soldiers

  • @inneedofammo dont be surprised if you find basic training to be dissappointing.

  • Listening to these cadences makes me wish I was in the service. They also make me proud of the people who risk there lives for this country. God bless each & every one of you.

  • 1994 FORT MC 95B C/787

  • We rocked the snot out of this cadence at Ft. Bragg. AIRBORNE!

  • 1993, Ft. McClellan, 95B, C/795

  • Drill Sgt. Fitch (A Co. 2/47 INF) used to call this one - it was a marching cadence.

  • This is a marching or running cadence? I know it's sounds stupid but I want to start singing this at my ROTC unit.

  • @goarmysinknavy Understand the sentiment, even though it seems like this should be a veteran's cadence, ROTC sings about Rangers more often than not, don't they?

To answer your question, this is definitely a marching cadence. Way too many words at once to be an effective runner. You'd never catch your breath.

  • @10bluesman01 ROTC doesn't sing about Rangers alot. ROTC lets you sing what you want. I'm going to basic this summer (Fort Benning). Cadets use the same candences all the time. This is old school. I sang UH1 sittin on the pad and I got in trouble because it said Air Assault Trooper big and bad by an Cadet that just graduated from Air Assault School then a NCO that served with 101st Airborne and is now a Cadet told them to grow up. I sing I wanna to be an Airborne Ranger. OLD SCHOOL!

  • @goarmysinknavy I'm about to graduate ROTC. Our battalions have different musical tastes, apparently. Go for it.

  • @KrazyKommieKiller: the coast guard goes all over the world

  • I graduated with u my friend. 1SG was an animal. Freakin clowns hoaah!

  • I finished Basic training over the summer and the whole company tried to get our First Sergeant, First Sergeant Mesa, to sing this as much as possible it was huge honor for our First Sergeant to march us. He was a great First Sergeant, our whole cadre were some of the best NCOs A Co 1/13th!

  • @BradJump

congrats man i graduated coast guard basic about a year ago and ive been on deployments eversince

  • @starwrasfan1 Where does the Coast Guard deploy to? I thought they only operated in the US except in cases of major warfare.

  • sept. 1982 Ft. McClellan 95B Delta 10!!

  • this is a running cadence right?

  • @viethell12 no. this is just a marching cadence. if you pay good attention you can tell the differance between a marching and running cadence... and you can hear thier footsteps.. to slow to be a running cadence

  • @therisnoname4me oh okay, thanks

  • Still the best cadence I have ever heard. Motivating and emotional as well.

  • Thats my father!

  • @MALee821 Your dad was an inspiration to me and quite a few men in C787. I am proud to say I served with him and I sing this cadence to my daughter and remember my days at McClellan with great fondness.

And yes, we ran to this cadence.

  • If, somehow, I become a D.S I'm going to sing this cadence to my platoon. No other cadence beats this one...

  • Was there late 91 thru early 92 had Drill Sgt Kitt and Drill Sgt Enis

  • C787 Sep90 - Jan91. I remember Drill Sgt. Lee. He was a nice counter-balance to Drill Sgt. Finley. Drill Sgt. Kitt was somewhere in between.

  • I was born on fort Mclellan..have lived near the last 20 years. mom & dad both army. I just reserved my MOS 68W. Ft Mclellan isnt what it was though i wish it was. woulda made me findin this post a little more special. in fact its where I run and train now

  • @tyraee16 95B here. Trained at McClellan in 1986/87. OSUT.

  • @renactfilms

It is the same song. Just different words. And if that was rhetorical, I apologize for my stupidity.

  • By far my favorite cadence i wish i had had the chance to sing this one

  • Love it.. He was a DS for another platoon in our company . I was also there in Aug91-Dec91

  • This is one my favorite cadences. I liked this one DS Ennis I believe his name was used to do this one.

  • is this in quick time?

  • "I am now a different man then I was when I went away." I feel yea

  • My God I remember calling this cadence when we'd go on a CSM Battalion Runs and top would say SFC Harvey come sing me one of those pretty song, it seemed like we could run forever. HooaH!

  • 1983 Grenada! 82nd Airborne! Hoah!!

  • My Dad remembers this one!

  • Thanks ALXPFL! I was in A 787 in the summer of 1991. DS LEE was assigned to Alpha Company at that time. I remember this cadence and DS LEE like it was yesterday. Good Memories. I remember DS CAIN too.

At any rate, I became a civilian police officer and had traveled several times to the 'Army's Showbase of the South' for advanced training.

I stopped by in 1995 and was told that DS LEE had returned to SF. Not sure if is good information.

Again..thanks for the memories!!! Stay Safe

  • I heard and used a slower version of this. "In the early morning raAAain"

  • Awesome cadence.

  • i just left C 787 a week ago....1st sgt called this cadence alot

  • i was in class 10/88 and we never used this one, but i heard it before.....not like this...RLTW

  • we've never done this cadence, was it used after the 90s?

  • i use it.

  • @88smileandnod yes it is.. they used it during my basic

  • Drill Sgt Lee was one of my D.S. when I was there in 1991. He was Special Forces and always had the best cadences.

  • i dont think they sing this one anymore. I have never heard it before until now. it's a good one though. i like it a lot

  • @spoons519 yes they do.. I heard this cadence all through basic

  • @spoons519 We sang it when I was at Basic at Ft. Benning. It was a bit different, but the cadence still is used. I like this one better and I think it's HIGHLY applicable to today's situation with the wars we're fighting on two fronts. This cadence deals with a LOT of problems a soldier deals with. Joining the Army first of all changes who you are...war does so even more so. In the Army you learn to embrace the fact that even though you are human, you are STILL and ANIMAL! You must embrace this

  • @spoons519 We did this cadence at Airborne

  • @spoons519 They still do. My brother does, in his.

  • @spoons519 they still call it. they did it when i went to basic in 2008.
