Dude, if you come up to a suspicious-looking dead end, just dig with shift-T. You'll find any hidden doors right away.

I know that an Ubuntu/Debian package for Angband existed, but for my purposes it's not too helpful. I prefer to keep my Angband install with all of the scores and save files in my Dropbox folder so that it's easy to sync it between my Android Phone, my Linux/Windows desktop, and my Linux laptop. The only version of Angband that runs on most of them is the Windows version, because it doesn't require an install and keeps all of the files right in the folder with the .exe.

Angband runs great on Wine, and the Android version of Angband can use the score/pref/save files on Dropbox, so it all works quite well.

@williamkmanire Hahaha, thanks a lot. A few others have cropped up, but for the most part this was the first one that got beyond a few episodes. Shame the quality's kind of low, i'm not real good at LP's.

Well, most roguelikes are ASCII/tileset based, because that makes it easier for the developer. You should REALLY try to play an ASCII game yourself before you totally write them off, but here's a list of more 3d roguelikes:

Egoboo

Just google them, and there are also Isometric views for Nethack, Angband, ect.
