@deflatable11 Nope.. it's a pretty cheap Leather Folio case. He's very good with it and he knows not to drop it or whatever. Also, I got Bodyguardz on it which protects the screen really well! Take a look at the video of him using the iPad and you'll see.

@william980204 You call it spoil, but I call it a great learning tool. He has a lot of educational apps and I can see him learning a lot from it. I also have some "big kid" logic games like Sokoban and it's great seeing him able to solve some of the easier puzzles by himself.

He's adorable. Though i think that's too young to be handling an iPad. Just 'cause he hasn't broken it yet, doesn't mean he never will. I'm 15 and have a few friends who've simply dropped the ipad and cracked the screen all the way across. I'd just make sure he has a really good case for it. All my friends with reliable cases have dropped their iPads and the case absorbed each fall. Their iPads didn't have to suffer their clumsiness. :) (Our school uses iPads instead of books now.) :D

At first I was a little bit afraid of him breaking the iPad, but after seeing that he was able to handle my iPhone more carefully, then I made the decision that he could have the iPad. Check out the videos of him playing on the iPad -- he really knows his way around. Also, the case the iPad is in is pretty good, and I got Bodyguardz protecting the screen :)

He was 3 and half when he got the iPad in this video and he loves it! Still works great and no problems with accidental app purchases. I do agree that "trouble 2s" can be destructive! Since he was 1 and half when I got my first iPhone, he knew how to play with the iPhone. Sometimes when he was upset he would throw the phone - lucky I had a good case :) When he showed that he could take care of the iPhone, then I knew he was ready for the iPad!

my cousin who is 3 years old, also has an iPad, there are a lot of good apps for kids on the iPad he can work pretty well with it and I think it's good to learn how to work with technology as we use it everyday. Btw i'm 16 and i don't have an iPad but my dad is planning to buy one.

@sexmagnet1231 No, he cannot read yet, but he remembers some words to spell now that he is a bit older. The books on the iPad read to him with highlighted words so that helps him recognize more words. Also, kids (at least from my experience with Alex) don't need to know how to read to use an iPad/iPhone/computer, they remember the sequence of where things are and know what to do.

Haven't had any issue with buying apps or in-app purchases and iPad is still working great! He even had some of his young friends play on the iPad with him and they knew how to use it as well. My only regret is that he always wants to play on the iPad, so we try to limit his time on it now. He's very much an expert on it :)

This was a present from his uncle... If I was buying it, of course I would buy one for myself first (I don't even have one yet) He was smart enough to play with my iPhone, so that is why I suggested that the iPad 2 would be a good present... and it's been awesome for him! He knows how to play all his educational games and watch all his videos on Netflix and Youtube all by himself. You just need to give kids the tools and they will learn!!
