Cats do tend to tolerate opposums. I had a Mainecoon that would not flinch or mind at all when a full grown opposum walked up next to it on the deck and took some catfood.

Yo, animals don't get depressed from being fatties. That requires being able to possess the ability of being self-conscious. The depression that comes from being fat has to do with being unable to acquire a mate/being seen as ugly, however animals do not see each other in the same manner humans do, so they don't give a shit.

this reminds me of when my cat was a kitten she used to sneak outside and not come back till morning. one morning i went to let her in and she was playing the "i see you around the corner" game with a baby possum. I was astonished and watched in amazement as the possum played with my kitten for a few minutes before he scuttled off. really weird but quite cool. thanks for sharing this video, cheers
