Any proffesional singer has to hold back a bit to maintain their voice. You can't expect to hear the same "roughness" as you did on the album recording. These people are doing a show every night, or close to it, while they are on tour. A singer has to be extremely careful not to blow it out, but to last through the tour
its weird to think that 17 later on this date i would have been watching metallica play the first sonisphere at knebworth which is also august 2nd....... weird as fuck
One of the best Genesis concerts ever and i have been to a few... but it did take nearly 3 hours to exit the car park after.. got home to Coventry at 3.30am......would do it all again though to see them one last time!

Phil is amazing....I've only seen a handful of live performances where the singer actually sounds as good as or better than he does in the studio version.
Am actually in this clip...pretty good near close up of me at 4:25 im the rather tall bloke at the centre-right with the yellow t-shirt. My first massive concert and i was loving it!
Knebworth is a country estate just outside London, England. knebworth house i a great old mansion which stands in the ground....every year the owners open up the grounds to a chosen band to play there. The place can hold up to 200,000 people and has played host to Led Zepplin, Bruce Springsteen, PaulMcCartney and Pink Floyd to name but a few.
What are you talking about? These days it's extremely rare to hear someone sound the same live as their actual recording. But yes, awesome song! Disturbed did a great cover of this song, but the orignal is still better :)
perfecto...!!!!
