good job. Slight critique, though. Cut the review time down. Hit some main points briefly. And spend time on the points that may be deal breakers or makers.
I truly loved this game, I once rented it at a store close to my house, and fell in love with it. I had the owner of the place buy it for me and played it so much. Every time I see a video or remember it I dig my N64 from under my bed and play sometimes because of how great it was.
One thing I recall is that even though the game was pretty unique at building units, I always had similar groups with melees and rangeds and a healer, this always felt more effective against most groups I fought.
The greatest thing? Owning the original game, having bought it when it first came out. Digital copy on computer, play with a gamepad. Woo, nostalgia time!
@chillcloud2 you get them in order. aisha, saradin, debonair (you can't have chosen to go to tremos mountains 1 and go north instead) then in the last chapter you get Destin and if your chaos frame is high enough you get gilbert. you chaos frame needs to be high to get them. you also have to keep dio on your team i believe and maybe Ankiseth
I think a VC release is hopeful, since the first one came out on it. But since it is own by Square-Enix now, I doubt that Ogre Battle will ever have a new game. :(
Yes, I agree with you. The chances of a new ogre battle game are slim to none. Final Fantasy Tactics Advance is the closest that will come to the Ogre Battle Universe and thats a poor substitute.
Yeah Final Fantasy Tactics fell flat for me, too many winy characters. But Atlas (the Publisher of ogre battle 64) has a new game they published called Knights in the Nightmare. I haven't gotten a chance yet to pick up a copy but it has some very similar elements to Ogre Battle. Ogre Battle 64 is my favorite strategy RPG ever, but it is good to see this kind of RPG isn't dead completely.

@baconenjoyer I beat the game with this army, so they must have been good enough. I'm sure I didn't use all of them.

@Mobstersoverdrive Indeed. I'm a little jealous that PSP is getting a remake of Tactics Ogre.
phoenixkane1986 1 year ago
@phoenixkane1986 not really need to, ogre battle 64 is still superior , but of course i dont deny that tactics ogre is a remarkable game

how long is this game?
Is this better then the snes version?
Does this have alot more content?
Do they follow a similar story?
Do u need to play the first to understand this one?
persianknight32 1 year ago
@persianknight32 I beat this game in around 40 hours, I think.
I would say this is more accessible. The SNES is classic old school gaming but that can be offputting.
They follow a similar story in that you start off a rebellion against the evil power but the its a lot different otherwise.
The story in this game is told in a much more effective way.
You do not need to play the first one to understand this game.

@fmthebaron tactics ogre let us cling together is better. Both are awesome though, heck EVERY Ogre Saga game is amazing.
