There are so many reasons to like this. I have been appreciating Longfellow more these days, and have been in need of humbler poets. I find myself often irked and impatient with many of the modern "difficult poets." Thank you for lending "to the rhyme of the poet/ The beauty of thy voice."
truly outstanding recital. you laid this poem so true to the 10th stanza "And lend to the rhyme of the poet The beauty of thy voice."

What a lovely reading of a lovely poem. I am not typically a Longfellow fan but this is wonderful.

i am not sure if I enjoy the poems as much as your voice reading them :)
yours is a voice made to read aloud
thank you again!

Your readings have definitely given me a greater appreciation of Longfellow. I really enjoy the poems of his that you've read.
(Though I still don't like the Wreck of the Hesperus.)

WHAT A GENTLE POEM!
Your beautiful reading captures the essence of "The Day is Done"
This is something I will probably listen to most evenings. Thank you.
