selling our gas, selling our soveringty to the eu,whose forced welfare migration policy has us in debt, and sending our irish children abroad to oz to look for jobs,3,000 every week.where are they to stop the brain drain from ireland?
they say the economy has picked up(due to an eu loan we have to pay back),these same people lied to us about lisbon taking the power out of irish hands, and forced us back to the ballot box to vote TWICE on the same issue,bc they didnt like our no vote the first time!
shell now own the gas fields along with the rights to tap it. if somehow the protestors are sucessfull then not only will over twelve hundred jobs be lost, but shell would be in a position to claim masive compansation from ireland in a time that we cant afford it. in fact it would put us in a position that we couldnt possibly recover from.
The long term jobs from the refinery will be closer to fifty, and more jobs will actually be lost in tourism and hospitaility, so Shell is costing jobs to the area.
As to the rest of your post, can you give us an example of a sovereign government being sued for compensation like this? Or is it just made up nonsense like the "twelve hundred jobs"
@ShelltoHell i wasn't bothered argueing with you after you said that 1200 jobs which exist NOW is nonsense. this is fact. this many jobs have already been created. you are mearly PROJECTING that it will end up at 50 jobs and saying it like its gospil. i know that it will end up more than 50 jobs on an operation that big. maybe shell exagerate too, but that is exactly what your doing by saying 50.. if you were in charge we would all be living in caves. thank god your opinion means nothing.
It speaks volumes, that the Irish guy shot dead in Bolivia for a alleged government coup and being a member of an extreme right wing militia, worked as a security guard with shell on this project, thats what type of people they have working for them . .military mercenaries, makes you think hey ?
Good seeing the Irish Garda Siochana living up to their mandate as the defenders of the people by being bought off by Shell to help in the destruction of Ireland and its natural resources. Shame on them, shame on FF for facilitating this and shame on the rest of us for allowing it to happen!!

"just shut up" is not really an argument, but then neither is throwing people in ditches or putting them in jail...
