There's emotion in his playing, though I normally find the emotion to be cast aside when he decides to just shred out of nowhere. it doesn't always flow the best, I think.

just stating the obvious, andreasbn but yngwie has more emotion in his pinkie finger than most guitarists have in their whole body. the combination of scales and mixture of rhythms are pretty amazing imo. not to mention the amazingly fast 16th notes.

Exactly! We all have emotions, but not the same emotions. And this is exactly why we can't compare musicians. We can compare their technical abilities. We can tell Malmsteen and Dave Murray for example to play a song note-to-note and give them the notes and then we can listen which one makes more mistakes, but that's about it.

@GuitarGod119 And who are you to say that's not to put emotion into one's playing ? A fast run can hold just as much emotion as one note lasting for 2 bars. But the term 'emotion' in music is really just impossible to define. Some musicians just connect better with some audience. It's a personal thing. So stop arguing about it. For me it's not as much the scales or the melodies in YJM's playing that I connect with, it's his touch and bone-tone, which is outstanding.
