I am very familiar with the inter-mural debate on the subject of female deacons within the PCA. What Keller professes and what he practices are very different things. As the bard wrote, "What's in a name? That which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet." To put this in a more contemporary expression, "If it looks like a duck, swims like a duck and quacks like a duck, then it probably is a duck."
0:03 Male and female deacons installed together 0:13 Elected female deacon, Deb used to represent deacons being installed later. Pastor states: "Deb is assuming the Diaconal Role this morning." 0:20 Nominated by members 0:28 Training Process 0:35 Examined by officers 0:41 Elected by congregation 1:17 Extraordinary calling 1:34 Charge 4:26 6 Ordination ?'s are asked 5:09 Word 'ordination' clearly used 6:02 members promise/covenant to yield obedience to her
Namely this quote from the PCA's byfaith online magazine:
"When we began Redeemer I encouraged our new session to establish a diaconate that included unordained, commissioned deaconesses. Our practice was debated but upheld by our Northeast Presbytery in 1994. It was deemed the right of local sessions to determine how the women mentioned in BCO 9-7 were to be commissioned and identified."
i.e., to ordained office in the church, jandrusk. You are correct.

This is clearly an ordination service.

Tim Keller doesn't agree with you, and has stated his views on this matter.

If this is a PCA church then they are violating the book of church order by electing woman to leadership roles in the church.
