  • Lots of people try to diagnose them selves as under or ever weight, if you really have an issue with your weight, you should go and seek professional help. The first point of call is to visit your family doctor.

From your consultation with them, they can advise you on the right course of action. As the lady stated in the video, different factors are taken into consideration. Your height, weight and BMI (Body Mass Index) and your bone structure.

You may have a small, medium or large frame.

  • My BMI is lower than all the other charts have said, all of them I was higher end average but this Im middle average

  • i am 11 years old and i weigh 105 pounds:)

    im 4'11

is that good because im not fat:)

  • it says im bmi is 35 :|( thats not right thogh im not that big im lessthen bob

    im 13 i weigh 133 im 5,7 .....

  • I am 12 years old and weigh 131... but I am 5'5! My BMI is 21.7

  • 16.40333333333...?

  • @juicyfruitygirl4444 well i should really tell my mom about so i could gain weight :) lol it is usually the other way around

  • @juicyfruitygirl4444 so am i underweight

  • i am 9 years old 4"9 and i weigh 67lbs is that bad

  • um ok so im 5 ft 2 inches, and i wiegh 133 lbs, and i have quite a bit of muscle mass (im not a body builder tho) and im a girl... does that mean im overweight???????

  • I'm a female 17 5.7 in Hight and weigh 10.5 is that ok

  • I'm 11.4, WTF?????

  • BMI is always wrong. Bmi doesn't state your bodyfat percentage . For example imagine an athlete which who would have more muscle making him a little heavier than the average guy and even less bodyfat. According to BMI most athletes with strong physiques (sprinters, wrestlers footballers etc) keeping in mind im talking about the athletes with low bodyfat , the BMI would place most of them in the overweight category . These athletes are the fittest people you'll know

    BMI = Badly Measured Index

  • @seansmith000 Anyone who is fit enough to be outside the normal BMI measurements, KNOW that they aren't out of shape, with muscle mass WAY above 'normal'. Until relatively recently there weren't very reliable measurements of body fat % easily, so BMI is popular in medicine historically. If you are googling to lose weight, odds are your physique isn't in the "too much muscle mass for BMI to be effective" category.

  • BMI is crap. It is ever only used as a guess-timation as to how much body fat you carry. I am 177.2cm (5 feet nine and half inches), and this morning was 81.3kg, or ~ 179lbs. My BMI is 25.5. However......my waist is 31 inches, and I run 4.5-6 miles everyday, and I also do weights. My Body fat % is 17-18 atm, which is fine. No, I don't think it is critical that I need to lose weight.

  • @c2105026 will add that i am 27 yo male

  • notice how she does not state her own weight (obviously above the maximum) but labels everyone else as overweight. i am not classified as overweight according to the system, but i lack muscle. i have a feeling many people with larger muscles would be classified according to this inaccurate system.

  • Wow, I eat lots of fruit and veg and of course meat. I'm a roofer so I'm up and down ladders and carrying heavy sheets of iron all day, after work I do martial arts so I'm very fit, athletic and have a six pack... According to this I'm overweight. This is ridiculous!

  • omg and advice. never be a teacher

  • is that minus after 190lbs???

  • does that work for everybody of all ages or is it just for if you are 72inches tall?

  • @frediosar it works for everyone in general. although, its not entirely accurate. more of a guideline.
