I have a 19 foot I/O that I was planning on taking on that same trip. Do you have any advice before embarking on such a voyage? How far could you get on a tank of gas? Did you guys actually camp out on any islands? If not did it look like it would actually be possible to set up a tent on some of the smaller islands without getting in trouble? My main worry is gas. Was it easy to find gas on the islands you have listed in the description here? Where did you have to pay the vessel fee?
Just Fantastic its inspirational to watch!! Watched it now a good number of times and i have just about convinced my my wife and close friends to do it! can you tell we what kind of places you stayed at and the best way you found them assuming these were planned ahead! thanks!
hey man, this video is REALLY great. me and my friend are thinking about doing the same thing, but a much longer trip to actually stay on some of those islands for a while. does that seem possible to you guys? we'd like to know what it's like up close. do you think it could be done? To live on an island for at least 4 months?
@TheKnightprowler Definitely possible...But it would get super expensive! We had to save up for quite a while for this trip. It cost us over $6,000 for 9 days for 4 people.
i dont know how many times ive watched this. i love this video. im 17 now when i turn 18 in december im ordering a 2013 rxp-x. as soon as i get it im taking this trip
@tfsportssss No captains license necessary. Basically you just need a Passport and $150 for the vessel fee. Other than that, you're pretty much on your own out there!
Wow nice video, i really wanna go there sometime. It looks a fantastic place to visit. Thanks for posting this. Oh and great choice of music fits the video really well. Do you do this trip often or was it a one off adventure? Cheers Andy!
@andymeads1 We ride to the Bahamas every year, but this was the first and only time we've gone all the way to the Exumas. It's a rough trip on the way there and back!
Awesome Video! Where exactly is that cave that you jumped into? I'm heading to the bahamas next month and would love to go there. Was all of this footage shot with the GOpro? Thanks
@OutlawDaytona Thanks! Ahh Andros might be our next destination. Would definitely like to check it out! From what I hear there are a lot of caves and blue holes to explore.
Hey Kevin, What kind of camera's did you guys use for the footage in these videos? The videos are amazing and i cant wait till i can get a chance to do something like this. I'm planning on driving down from Pennsylvania next summer and gonna do the trip. How often do you and your friends do this? I would love to meet up with you guys if your available.
@MrSThayer Yeah they're kind of the best of both worlds when it comes to island and shallow water exploration. You get the speed and power but at the same time you only have to deal with like a 10 inch draft. Really lets you get into the shallow areas without any worries.
Any word yet on the Sea doo challenge? I saw that you guys are the top two! Congrats! Im a very big seadoo fan as well and love going on adventures. heading down to florida at the end of the month to take some video. Lots of great spots
@magic1800 I'm actually in Montreal right now. We've got a pretty full agenda for the next several days and then they announce the winner on July 13th. We're pretty excited! Yeah Florida is amazing. We came down for vacation 4 years ago, got hooked, and then moved from Ohio. Have fun on your trip!
@mikplater Thanks! Not in person. We've conversed a bit through Facebook though. Did you go with them on that original trip? I was still living in Ohio when I first watched their video. It's the reason we moved to Florida.
@KevinandCorrie Yeah I did when on R&R from Iraq...it was a once in a lifetime experience, especially leaving miami at midnight crossing the gulf stream with nothing but glowsticks. Like anything experienced for the first time, its hard to top it. Stay safe.
@jgrocholsk Haha, not exact, but close. No Andros for us and Miami to Chub in 1 day. I'd of kept going past Staniel by my Bahama fund was evaporating quickly. Next year we'll do Miami to Turks & Caicos.

How do you carry enough fuel?
kseroski70 7 months ago
@kseroski70 We strap aux fuel cans to the back of the boat and ski. Using four load straps the fuel cans stay secure even through rough chop.
