  • I thought that Master Chief's Mjolnir armor was a Mark VI:-) Mjolnir Mark VII was mentioned in Catherine Halsey's diary, but it was never fully realized or mass produced. Anyways, it's not that important:-) the review is great, and i personally liked this game very much, i loved the atmosphere, the eerie soundtrack and the juxtaposition between the open ended Rookie parts and the action packed flashback sequences. It's very well made, and not a letdown at all

  • overruled!!

  • Wow, the Design section got 9.2, despite the fact that they pretty much admitted that the multiplayer is entirely recycled from Halo 3. Basically, they said that this is just Halo 3, only with a different campaign, and a firefight mode reminiscent to Gears of War 2's horde mode. Yet it gets 9.2 in that category. Makes no sense...

  • @nerftendo005 because halo 3 is that high up there

  • @myself2me But it was 2 years old when this came out. Halo fanboys aside, I can't think of anyone who would want to spend $60 just for a new 6-hour campaign, a firefight mode, and the same EXACT multiplayer content that they already previously bought. That's a joke of a purchase.

I hate that this game got 8.9, because that's the same score as New Super Mario Bros. Wii and Ratchet & Clank: A Crack in Time, which give you so much better value for your money.

  • @nerftendo005 i have to agree with u there it wouldve been better if it was half the price

  • @myself2me OK, I admit, I exaggerated. In general, it's an okay purchase; it only seems like a bad value when compared to other Halo games. And I'm just a little pissed that it recycles the Halo 3 engine, which wasn't very good, even in 2007.

The amount of new content in ODST is about equal to the amount of content in Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, which isn't really worth $60 either, IMO. I'm glad that it's a Greatest Hit, so it only costs $30, now, because at that price, it's totally worth it.

  • I found this game to be very enjoyable. People claim it is so shitty yet when I ask them what is so awful about it, they don't give me a straight answer. I think ODST has fallen victim to a blind hatred. Haters of the Halo franchise pick on it as the sole reason the series sucks. Honestly, I am embarrassed to call myself a gamer if other gamers act so immaturely.

  • @greubermeister2 I'm embarrased to call myself a gamer when Halo 3 ODST (a 60$ add on with a new 6 hour campaign and firefight mode) gets almost as good if not better score from reviewers than Killzone 3, Killzone 2 and Resistance 2. I can practically smell the fanboy stink coming from 95% of video game reviewers.

  • @contracts47 I smell that stink too, but not from GameTrailers; correct me if I'm wrong, but those games you listed are PS3 exclusives. If I were in your position, I wouldn't be criticizing anyone of being a fanboy (even if it IS true with the majority of reviewers). As far as the $60 price tag, are people really forgetting that the game comes with another disc full of Halo 3's content minus it's campaign?

  • @greubermeister2 I did mention ps3 exclusives. But that is the point of me saying they are fanboys, they gave ODST a score practically as good if not better than those games. Yes, but to release something with a 6 hour campaign (if that) and two year old multiplayer to go with it, it should NOT be for 60$. You didn't see Rockstar release The Lost And The Damned or The Ballad Of Gay Tony for 60$ did you, no, and you will get just as much out of those as you will with ODST.

  • @contracts47 Holy shit, that's a good point.

  • ODST isn't awful. If you liked Firefly or Serenity you'll like it as it includes much of the old cast. Wandering around the streets of New Mombasa does get old, and it's frustrating that the game ups the difficulty when your health goes down a bit. On higher difficulties you really start to hate the Sangheili and their beam rifles that have one shot kills.

  • I hated it. I don't own the game, but I played it at my friends house. Since he JUST got his xbox, hey was naive and insisted it was awesome. In the first 5 minutes of the game you get a few grunts, dark environment, depressing piano music, 2 hour visor tutorial, and going back and forth to find these weird messages. It got boring, fast.

  • Such an overatted game ODST sucked the only only reason why everyone gave it a high score was due to pressure and hype. Other halo games are good just not ODST, it's the let down of the series

  • @rspivotmaster I don't get what people see in halo in the 1st place

  • @fisparx Agreed. The whole series is very mediocre, and very overrated.

  • 8.9!? Are you fucking serious!? A shitty 5 hour campagin that mostly involves wandering streets at night, and firefight mode is not worthy of an 8.9.

  • This guy sounds lost. Orbital Dropship Troopers? I wanna smack the shit out of him, legit. And I agree.. 8.9 is bullshit. I'm not saying ODST is a 10, but it's a 9.something. But it is GT. They sound more positive than IGN though.

  • @TwitchyHeadshot lol thats .1 more

  • @TwitchyHeadshot As a Halo fan, I'd say it fair, ODST was good but it felt alittle lacking compared to Halo 3. I would've given is a solid 8 if anything. But still was a good game

  • @zoesoldier89 Wel, I think (personnaly) that the story mode had a bit more depth and some cool twists, though I never really cared much for the characters the first time 'round. After a second play through, I started enjoying it a bit more. ODST had more of the low story. Where you see what a mess the chief left you to clean up in new mombasa. Halo 3 was more of an "epic" story with the universe in the hands of Master Chief. I can understand why you didn't like it, but it gives us more details.

  • underrated...

  • Does anyone know the name of the reviewer who does most of these reviews, he sounds really cool

  • God damn these review writers who think they're so clever. "With the series' venerable protagonist absent from the proceedings, the odds are stacked against it." NO they're NOT, all you gotta do is put the name Halo in something and you have yourself a cash cow.

  • when you play halo 3 multiplayer on disc 2, do you play with the people playing on the regular halo 3 disc?

  • @CCMKBProductions

    Yeah, of course.

  • 01:06 It's Digitalph33r

  • so far it ok not as good as cod4mw

  • I cant find the Halo 3 review by gt enywhere on youtube WHY?

  • @MustyMarkus1 well, being this video is the GT review....

  • I agree with dielindseysue! This guys an amazing reviewer! I could make an easy decision to go and buy a game after GT reviews it, unlike some who have terrible diction and/or shitty mumbled voices! *rant over*

  • i was and am really ticked off that they release all the multiplayer maps cuz i bought them all and then they announce that!

  • Orbital Drop SHOCK* Trooper, dumbass reviewer.

  • Actually, he's probably the best reviewer i've ever heard. Besides typo's aren't even his faults they're the writers you stupid piece of shit.

  • Got some things wrong, it's "Orbital Drop Shock Trooper" and this isn't at the end of Halo 3 like you make it sound.

  • cool guys keep it up
