  • *cough* don't surf in dodgy porn sites .

  • omg this is the biggest load of shit ever...

  • I admit: I love my apple laptop, but like ALL computers, it DOES crash. not as much as my old Dell, but it still will crash once in a while

  • @cl995 can't compare dell with computers... coz dell are shit... shit tech support, my company wanted to know what cpu's they stocked for replacements, they attempted to sell us a 800FSB cpu, saying that it was the actual name of the CPU... it wasn't it was a specof the cpu...

  • @ibainesy I don't know, sometimes you get the luck of the draw. the desktop dell is slow, it crashes a lot, and loses internet a LOT. my last dell laptop, though, worked great. I guess you win some, you lose some.

  • i hate macs but that's actually true.

  • viurs and crashing? mac, get out

  • 1. Apple crashes, 2 Apple has viruses, 3. uninstalling programs does leave shit in system files. 4. no NTFS file system. 5 Cant cut paste files. 6. multi-screen usage is awefull.

Mac OSX is like windows 3.1 but with prettier icons.

Oh yeah i have a mac

  • This is brilliant.

  • Hi, I'm a Megan :D

  • I was a PC. until i switched lol.

  • All Un-True. Mac is just another money wasting machine with extra, unneeded features, that some morons pay 500 extra dollars for.

  • She should have said "I want something that's cheap" and the mac should have walked away.

  • im looking into a laptop what should i go with mac or pc

  • @tom655755

a mac! i bought a macbook pro about 8 months ago now and i still love it. and if you ever need windows, all you have to do is install bootcamp (comes with mac) and pop in a windows CD and install. and wolla Windows and mac on the same computer. and faster on a mac still.

  • i'm a mac

  • Hey... where's the Mac PC vs Mac ad since Windows 7 launch? Apple finally realized it was wrong about the "broken promise" ?

  • Screens are replace-able.

Viruses are dependant on the anti-virus software.

And crashing? If you're not running a cracked version of xp, and not messing with anything you're not supposed to, you're fine.

  • Oh yeah, macs *never* crash...and there are def. no mac viruses...NOT...

  • mac can have big screen if you get the big screen macs and they are fast so are windows if you buy one thats as expensive as a mac

  • She should have said 'I don't want it to break my fucking wallet'

  • mac forgot to leave when she mentioned fast and big screen.

  • Hate Macs and the fanboys that believe the hype that the cult dishes out.

  • Noo Need for hating mac OS X and windows are both awesome :)

  • Has any one ever noticed that windows ads are really pushy?

  • MAC = POWER

  • my old skwl uses mac and they are shit they always have problems and they crach constantly

  • I hate how this video implies that OSX never has crashing or freezing issues. SPOILERS: It does. Anyone who, like me, regularly uses a Mac should know this.

  • @Spac42 You must treat it really crappily to manage to induce it to crash on you.

  • I'm doing a degree in Game design, so I regularly use the Unity3D game engine and the Blender 3D model studio.

The combination of those two programs seems to screw with OSX to no end, but when I use them on Windows 7, no issues at all. I'm not trying to get into a Windows vs OSX debate here, but that's just my personal experience.

  • What hardware do you use?

  • I know, everytime I edit a video with iMovie 09, iMovie always crashes at least 3 times, I really hate it!! >:( but I tstill love my Mac though!!!

  • @Spac42

I have an iMac and a Macbook Pro. NEVER crashed or freezed on me once!

  • Is this meant to attack the PC or its OS.The OS gets the viruses, not the computer. She could have gotten herself a PC with linux.Does the same thing as the MAC OS.

    I dun get it.

  • "im a Meagan"? wow...lmao

PC's are better. Macs has an option where it lets you run the windows os instead of mac os. I wonder why....oh yeah, because windows are better.

  • No it gives the option to run Windows at the same time as OS X.

Because then Macs run 100% of software on the Market leaving PC as incompatible.

  • there are also linux programs.

    so 99.99 percent :P

  • @CrazyKen54 no because there are SOME apps that people NEED and are custom built for their company/educational institute that on runs on windows.

  • lmao... the mac shouldve left when they said slow pc's leave

  • That was pretty funny XD but no.

  • its not windows that crashes well vista and ME its just faulty programs

  • @Thegamer5150 but if the OS handled them properly that should not have been a problem

  • What a load of nonsense. PC's run several other operating systems, not just Windows....

  • @CybershulDotCom

    EXACTLY

it should fucking be called window vs. osX

  • @NamelessNr1 they would get their ass sued my Microsoft in seconds flat. this is not specifying what OS their talking about, so they might not even be referring to windows. This way MS can't do much about it

  • @CybershulDotCom dude everyone uses either windows or mac os. There is a >1% market share for "other" OSes, and their ease of use and software support if questionable. I love ubuntu but i just can't imagine a normal person using it. it's much to complex and requires at least decent knowledge of the terminal.

  • yea. u can run ubuntu and linux. plus with windows 7 professional, u can use XP mode.

  • this is such bullshit hahaha

  • I'm not going to say one is better then the other but there are reasons why I switch from a PC to a Mac.

  • If Mac's suck then why does the entire movie industry use Mac as the standard?

From the University of Arizona Film Production school FAQ:

    33. I am buying a computer to use for my other class work at the University; if I want to use that computer for Media Arts work, should it be a Macintosh or Windows-based machine? Get a Mac! Apple desktop computers and laptops are the industry standard for film and video production.

  • Most likely because Macs have the "image" (think luxury cars) and are shiny and cool. Image obviously means a lot in the media arts world.

I'll tell you one thing, when I get home from a graphics or design class I let out a big sigh of relief when I see that Windows logo.

  • That's because there is a contract between the two for the to use their software, much like the military uses Windows

    Military>Hollywood

  • Toc0011 > ".. University of Arizona Film Production school FAQ: .."

Written by a student or administrator who has likely never worked in the film or video industry. There are certainly plenty of related PC software offerings.

Actually, it's highly doubtful Apple could dominate any market given the company's limited overall computer market share, including its own hardware and software base (Macs use PC hardware & most Mac software is apparently ported by PC software developers).

  • WEAK as hell compared to Laptop Hunter

  • @petershen1984 No, this is ALL TRUE

  • MACs suck. thats it. you have no power on a mac but Windows OS are very nice. thats why viruses are made for them too the are 90% of the market. When viruses are made for MAC i am going to laugh my ass off because they wont be ready. oh yeah and MACs can make videos ohh. what will a virus do ??!?! make iMovie more shitty? impossible.

  • Ya right Windows Based pcs suck..

#1. Your recommend antivirus/antispyware to keep it running good (You can do without but if you catch something, ur boned)

    2. Everytime you install something it installs duplicates or crap files for the program you installed to run properly..

    3. In case your board fries and that same board is no longer being made you have to repair the os.. just for a board swap out..

    4. You need to save old driver discs in case of a reinstall OS won't find modern drivers..

  • 5. Unless disabled (which will hinder security) your system will restart itself after getting a update (no matter what you was doing)

    6. Same as above. 75% of updates require a restart which will nag you till you do so..

*I'm not a windows based pc.. I only restart when needed.. Have long uptimes and still do security patches.. And i still play L4D, and alot of your windows based games..

  • Look thisis the problem Macs dont allow you to have power. Yes Windows based PCs wil have an ultimate F.u.c.k-up if you dont know what you are doing. and i enjoy messing around with it. btw you can tell windows update to stop telling you to update some things.

  • Your saying macs won't allow you to have power without specifying what it won't allow you to do.. If your basing something that windows does that mac don't have then it nulls the comparison.

If your also comparing the skilled pc user versus a average pc user.. The average pc user will do what ever geek squad or there local friend tell them what they should do.. Thats why norton is the best stilling antivirus..

You always have console on mac to get around the gui interface..

  • You ever tried a MAC? and Vista + W7?? They have many options for virtulization, fso if you stuff up 1 account you can make a new one so no damage done, and the installation disks can "repair" properly now. Mac won't install on 99% of pc hardware unless you use intel everything and recommended a nvidia gpu, it crashes, freezes, reboots on startup and has a worse installer then Vista/W7.

  • Yes i have tried a mac.. I have also have it on my netbook..

Virtualization is a good option but your just sandboxing one OS inside of another to get security.

Yes but thats how they was designed.. You can't be angry with apple because they built there OS for there hardware. For compatibility & anti-piracy. If OSX ran on any out the box hardware people would be pirating it more than windows.. Apple wish not to gain market share like how microsoft got theres...

  • Trister619, you sound as if you haven't used a PC since Windows 95.

    1. Antivirus is good to have on any computer, and there are very good free ones such as AVG. Mac OS X is not immune; as it has been gaining popularity so has its exploits.

    2. You mean shortcuts in the start menu?

    3. Usually incorrect. I have done complete hardware swaps (different chipset, cpu, etc) and only had to install drivers.

    4. Internet. Windows 7 and Vista do a fine job with default drivers.

  • No played with everything up to Windows 7.

    1. No exploit class viruses known/reported/white-black hatt'd. Mac 9 and below had viruses but not OSX +

    2. No i meal duplicate .dll files all around your system when you install applications..

    3. Nforce to others been good.. Try via to intel, intel to nforce, amd to intel..

    4. Newer os for older hardware yes.. but newer hardware on W7 or vista no.. still need drivers. What about it can't detect network drivers how will you go online ? ?

  • that ad was very negative

  • windows seven is much safer than any of the previous windows versions, of course it still can get viruses and spywares, but with a GOOD anti-virus, there's no threat at all... well, that and not visiting porn web-sites

  • Biggest bullshit ad ever.

Like Mac doesn't get viruses? Doesn't crash? Doesn't give headaches?

They don't come in different screensizes? Why isn't there 12 other douchebags behind the biggest douchebag of all?

  • @kornkid8600 You want to tell me, that the 27" iMac has a small screen a it isn´t fast??? Oh come on!

  • @kornkid8600 dude,

Mac never crashes. There no viruses to Mac.

  • @OmRiWoLF

Macs crash. Funny thing, Steve Jobs himself just told Adobe that Flash is one of the main reasons Macs crash. (not the only) but one of the main, but the point is they do crash.

And you often don't see viruses on Macs because hardly any of the population uses them. What do you think virus writers are trying to do? Hit a minority population with viruses? They are out there, and there are anti-virus programs for Macs.

  • Because you don't know what's a virus.

As a programmer, let me tell you this: there's no such thing as 100% secured OS.

  • @OmRiWoLF Your source to proving there are not a single virus for a mac, and the fact they never crash. A PC friendly source, no apple made sources.

  • You know that quite a large percentage of mac's use intel processors right?

  • Fairly speaking, both mac & pc are good. They target on different users. Without Mac, PC wouldn't improve so much. But if no PC, Mac would be good as it as well. So stop blaming others (again, apple started the war) and those lies, do your best to make fabulours product. ok?

  • somebody may still say, well mac is still good in the area of graphic design, 3d animation or etc. check this out, go to the website of Dreamworks, click on "Studio" and then click "Technology of Animation", you will see...

  • Mac started the fight, now they don't like what they actually had done to PC, well you know, M$. The girl downstairs working in a Cafe was so kin to get a MBP, she even doesn't know any thing about mac. so apple, you have done the job, stop these stupid ads. I have MBP late 2008 version and I upgraded everything to the maximum, yet it can't stop me installing win7 on its bootcamp. I tried 6 months on mac os, but still failed to get used to.

  • Mac has viruses....

  • 26 Mac viruses out of 71,000 Viruses... Hmmm i think ill go with mac on this one.

But windows do have a LOT more programs compatible with it. Im always annoyed when i find a really good program and its windows only, i can find an alternative but its normally different (some better, some worse.)

  • When I can run conventional programs on a Mac without having to partition Windows onto the hard drive, I'll consider using a Mac.

There's a reason that Windows has the lion's share of the computing market right now.

  • I tried using darWINE - a port of the WINE (stands for WINE Is Not an Emulator) but had some issues... big issues.

The idea is out there, but it needs a LOT of work.

  • Chicken-and-egg situation, anyone?

"I won't use a Mac because no-one makes programs for them because no-one uses them." Gee, that leaves a lot of choice...

Of course, there ARE hundreds of programs out there for the Mac, but you actually have to go LOOKING for them.

  • Touche.

I had a Mac, tried it, really liked it.

Heard about BootCamp, and decided that, based on the bad reports I was seeing, I'd be better off with a Windows machine again.

Trust me, I spent a LOT of time looking at those programs. I also spent a LOT of time thinking about how much those programs would jack up my credit card bill.

Apple is nice, but there is a limit to how much I can spend on software. Macbooks, like Mercedes and BMW, are only for those with the money to afford them.

  • It's obviously a case of, "The product's really good, but people are just too lazy to support it..."

I don't see why so many people make Windows-only programs. I mean, honestly, is it REALLY all that hard to make a cross-platform program? Photoshop, Firefox, Dreamweaver...? I guess not.

  • This is going to sound like a stupid comparison, but video game software developers to it all the time. Some games have even been developed for 4 platforms - Wii, PS3, Xbox, and PC. Some computer-only games have been bundled with both PC and Mac versions. I just wish there was some way that the lines between Mac and Windows could be blurred just enough that a *.exe file could run on a Mac.

It's all conjecture coming from me though.

  • The games you're talking about (that run on 4 platforms) absolutely HAD to be OpenGL based, because that's the only cross-platform 3D rendering API out there. There's no excuse what-so-ever not to port it to OpenGL-based Unix.

  • Why bother developing cross-platform when only a small percentage uses it. It's a waste of money for companies to do so and only the large software developers do it like you already mentioned. Adobe and Microsoft, possible a few others.

  • I think you'll find that the OpenGL platform on the Nintendo Wii actually has the HIGHEST market share. There's also a huge market in the iPhone and iPod, plus the simply huge market of Linux servers. Hence, there's little reason NOT to.

There's little effort in a re-compile for a different platform. Then you can slap it on as many CDs as you want, or just make a downloadable installer that checks for the CD in the drive. Honestly, there's no excuse beyond, perhaps, a lock-in contract.

  • Do you think it's just a recompile? No it isnt. First there's dependencies on libraries and frameworks in a Windows environment, they need to run on MacOS or alternatives are required. Second, the user interface differences and OS hooks need to be implemented correctly. MacOS works differently in this regard to Windows. Then there's obviously all the testing required for each platform to ensure quality control.

There are probably many more issues, but these come to mind at the moment.

  • Lol, regardless of the Apple vs. Microsoft battle, that was pretty funny. Nice serve, Apple.

Understand, though, that very few people utilize all the features involved in a certain computer. Depending on what you intend to do, many different laptops can suit you. Aside from the hardware, many different operating systems can be used, depending on your occupation and use. They should spend less time bickering and more time giving tailoring options, but of course, that would be smart.

  • No trouble, no crashes and no viruses? Hahaha. Give me a break.

  • I don't know about you guys but I really enjoy using my Mac.

  • ROFL, my Vista run PC has never crashed and neither has my Mac. I know tons of people on both sides that HAVE crashed (and go figure, all you have to do is restart the computer). Who the fuck cares?

On the virus end, the only reason more are made for PCs is, duh, because there are tons more than there are Macs. If, and I do mean "if", Macs ever became more popular, guess what? More viruses...

Could we stop the silly corporate shill fights? Because you fanboys on both sides are wastes of space.

  • Mac knows all of that. but im betting more Macs wouldnt automaticly mean more viruses. Its mainly how PCs are built, and their lower standards for the OS, that brings about all this stuff.

Macs arent made so everyone on a street corner can own one, that ISNT the point.

If anything, id like Mac to create a better reputation as a work horse for the common man, not just a work horse for musicians and graphic artists and such. Though that is a myth. Macs are used in NASA.

  • Amen to that! I concur completely; if they were to target the average person over the "artistic douchebag" crowd (no offense to any artistic douchebags =P), they'd see stock rise higher than... well, Apple stock over the past 10 years...

  • Very true, Truthiness231.

Apple tends to cater to those who can afford sky high prices without mercy.

While I own two Macs, that is a preference (I prefer the Mac because of the features).

Overall, neither one is better. What is important is what is best for you.

  • Hello Cluesless Macs are more popular and also its easier to make a virus for a PC than a Mac if Microsoft gave a rats ass about your computer then they and these third party companies would lose a lot of money because you would not really need it. I have had 4 macs and NOT 1 NOT1 has had a virus on the OS ever.

  • ROFL, I'm a programmer! (Look through my favorites a couple of pages at the most and you'll see some of my AS3/C++ saves)

It's just as easy to write a virus for Mac as it is PC; even if there are more ways to get through PCs system (which there are), all you need is one! OSX virus protection, while quite good, is riddled with back doors.

The difference comes down to MARKET PERCENTAGE: why bother writing a virus 10 people will use when you can write one that 100 will?

  • You couldn't be more right

  • To shoe that the mac virus myth is a lie.. I mean if everyone thinks mac can get viruses as easy as pc.. why not make a virus that installs w/o user intervention ( not asking for admin password) and just displays a message that saids 'i'm a virus. I got in without you knowing' then the mac is virus proof myth would be known as false..

But everyone saids its easy, but nobody has done it.. I mean 1 per 1000 infections would still make the news..

  • ROFL, why would someone risk potential legal proceedings to prove a silly point to all 50 mac users?

Honestly though, do you know anything about computer security? One back door is the same as having millions (because you only need one), and if you don't think Mac has holes in their security then google it, or at the very least just come back to reality...

  • Would would someone do the same for windows.. Sorry to say but virus coders hardly get caught.. I'm just saying.. You say that mac vs pc security wise is the same.. People exploit windows weakness's just to show it can be done.. But nobody has done it to a mac (your believe is nobody cares about a mac) So In theory because nobody cares about a mac, There more secure... As for security holes.. all i have seen is proof of concept for the mac vs conflictor for windows..

  • About the "it would still make the news" bit, I can see the headlines now: "Virus programmers start to take Mac seriously"

  • @Truthiness231 anyone can claim that

  • hey just to say, Ive had PC's for years with minimal problems... ever (because im not a retard like the average person that actually REQUIRES a mac just to surf the web) Oh, and excuse me, the spinning beach ball is now the new and "improved" word for utter failure

  • hey, clap clap for the handicap, we have a winner !!

  • Hi I work with Microsoft and I regret to inform you that the application you used to type this STUPID ASS comment the trial period has ended. You can buy that same crappy ass shit for 30.00 lol PC'S SUCK!!!!!!!!!!!

  • In a mac vs PC movie, I see Keanu Reeves as mac and maybe Ricky Gervais as PC lol

  • such a bullshit i have both PC and a Mac and I must say my mac has the same freezing and crashing problems as my windows ...sure I admit it happens alot less that is because I use it alot less and I haven't added any other applications on it other than what it came with.

  • If your mac is having these problems take it in for repair, crashing and freezing are extremely rare on mac os and it may be that your ram is buggered.

  • Or just unstable software that was designed for Mac as an afterthought maybe? That's another common problem.

  • Never have i seen a UNIX kernel fail without it being a hardware fault, and it is extremely rare for Mac OS to crash and have slow down issues, these are usually found out to be hardware issues or a peace of buggy software like Yahoo messenger but it is always an application level issue and never takes down the OS.

Other software that has odd behaviors is MS Office 2008, i can not for the life of me understand how a Office application can take over 10 seconds to load.

  • both good for different reasons

this is just a joke ad

    don't take it so seriously

  • well my mac hasn't crashed so what now?

  • It's funny how Apple doesn't show that their computers doesn't use the PowerPC processor anymore in favor of the "PC" processor.

    BTW, PC's are still better.

  • "PC processor" :)) So I suppose the IBM PowerPC processors are washing machine or vacuum cleaner processors :-?

  • ...that just goes to show you how the "architectures" of the processor can be change to be use anywhere.

  • The powerPC chip is good enough for the the xbox 360 which is made by a computer company.

  • *incoming rape detected*

  • funny... but im still a PC

  • Mac is so gay, it's so user friendly that if anything is even slightly messed-up you have to contact support

  • uhh no...unless you're freaking retarted

  • mac's can suck my newly shaved balls... TMI?

  • No, what kind of razor did you use?

  • That's a pretty good comeback to their ads. All the new PC ads are doing is saying you can get the hardware for cheaper.

The only time they talked about the software on the PC ad was the name of the video editor which name you couldn't even here. it sounded like "hugersghrr hur"

    what the fuck?

  • I love the fanboys on here...

They make you feel intelligent when you know that you understand that the Mac vs. PC argument comes down to personal preference and what environment you enjoy working in.

  • Yeah I know, who cares what you spend your money on as long as you're happy.

  • How about the fact that a PC is a lot easier to use than a Mac.

Using color coded buttons for close, maximize etc on windows, and having really clunky email is a real downer on the Macs

  • Not to mention a standardized place to have programs installed... or that you can right click on about anything and have a fairly standardized list of "properties" in the OS and in most programs made for it.

OSX is hardly intuitive unless you are doing the preplanned things (limited) that OSX has created for you. Deviate, and OSX is a pain in the ass!

  • So the only lousy excuse to buy a Mac is for "no crashes" and "no viruses"? What a load of tripe. I havn't had a single virus infection ever!. All you need is a good AV product and be sensible about what you install on your PC. If you are dumb enough and can't handle that then yes you need a Mac.

  • lol, just dont download porn and ur fine.. yes, you can even watch it online.. you still wont get a virus 90 percent of the time.. viruses are way overrated, you dont need norton or any other expensive shitbox that slows your computer down.. a good free antivirus like avg is more than enough.

  • OMG! Hilarious! Yes!!!

  • Sure there are 'Tons" of malware targeted at PC's running Windows, However No Operating System is perfect.

I have seen issues with computers due to malware and fixed them with little difficulty.

When I try to fix an issue with a Mac, I am faced with the Unix CLI. Search for Youtube videos of Mac Issues, help, or error. Try to look up a solution to a common problem and relize that you are better off restoring the system to day one. OOPS hope you purchased and timecapsule thingy!

  • hum, apple, can you do sth real than ads?

and, have you some new ideas than virus?

  • "hum, apple, can you do sth real than ads?

and, have you some new ideas than virus?"

You want more than virus .. i mean millions, millions and, millions of viruses..

This is a response. And its actually true.. There are lots of PC. only few match the Mac category but they run WIndows ..Hmmm

  • Um all OSX security competitions - OSX losed first, within minutes.

Recent virus and Bot alerts for OSX.

Still more value with PCs/Blueray/firewire and faster chips more memory for a lesser price.

oh well Apple = Fail !

So much for propaganda and being trendy!

  • Google for "OS X security" Check apple website on how to enhance security in unix

"Recent virus and Bot alerts for OSX."

You are talking about 1 or 2 viruses ???

Its better to worry about millions of viruses on Wintel PCs.

"Still more value with PCs/Blueray/firewire and faster chips more memory for a lesser price."

No matter how good the hardware is and you run dos.. Its of no use. OS is the key for success.

"oh well Apple = Fail !"

2% of Market share to 9% and 1.3 million iPhone Sold .

  • hey, sorry for the delay in response... my PC got a XP 2009 virus while i was reading all the comments on here..WTF???? i have no idea how that happened...anyway im on my mac right now....(thank god)...um yeah.. i love to have a blue-ray on a apple computer one day.. COME ON APPLE MAKE A COMPUTER WITH LESS VIRUSES PLEASEE!!

(coughs) oops i mean make a computer with blue-ray!!!!!
