  • or you could just go with the beginning x on your face and say u r the x men mascot! :D

  • Just FYI: the actual name for this kind of mask (from the late 17th C.) is "Domino." they were tradtionally worn with a loose hood and half cloak, too (makes sense to me, because a person's hair is almost as identifying as their face).

  • D: !! I thought your baby was a

baby doll at first!!! -laughs- XD

    So freaking cute!!!

  • ha ha! it's the funny lighting. thanks! x

  • @ImTheAsianChick13 ....same here! LOL XD :D

  • would this possibly work for like a band mask ??

  • i'm not sure what you mean by a band mask! the plaster is a little fragile but if you do many layers it might work!

  • i mean like Duece from Hollywood Undead ... cause his mask is kool ...

  • @willowing We made these back when I was in high school, in a puppetry class, and after it was dry enough to take off our faces, we did add 2 or 3 extra layers of plaster for strength. And then, yes, it was strong enough to hold elastic bands to hold it to the face.

  • Great job on the baby!!!! Congrats!

  • Thank you SO MUCH for posting this, I am going to be making venetian masks for my bridesmaids to walk down the aisle with, and seeing this gave me a really good idea of how it is done. Also, your little one is too cute!

  • Ooh, that sounds entirely doable. We're going to have a lot of fun. And yes, I thought it couldn't just be pleister. Thanks for helping me out with your Dutch deprived brain :)

  • super, plssssss send me a pic!!! :D i'd love to see it! x

  • Wow, impossible to view this without commenting. So many beautiful things and people. Dylan is so growing!

Beautiful calendar and cards. You've been a busy girl.

I love the mask. Do you know the Dutch term for this plaster material? And how long does it take to dry? I want to try this on Flynn, but don't want it to be an ordeal for him :)

    Big hugs, Ingrid

  • oooh flynn will LOVE it! :D it doesn't take too long to dry on your face, perhaps 20 mins to half an hour? (if not less). just so you know, i added quite a few layers on top of the mask after I took it off as it seemed a bit too flimsy, so i'd definitely put a lot of layers on while it's on his face. mmh, not sure what the stuff is called in dutch; pleister/ no eh? ha ha. OOOOH WACHT 'S EVEN; GIPS!! wow, that came from the depths of my dutch deprived brain. :D it's what you put on broken bones x
