The start of the documentry is misleading. This isnt common practice for treating mental health or illness in Sierra Leone. The war has distabilise the country but there are Docters and nurse and people know were to go for basic medical care.
There are charites and grass roots organizations working on rebuilding the country and healthcare is one of the things they provide.

It would be much better to deliver cash and doctors directly to the people, but that's no easy task. I don't have a perfect solution, but I'll try to think of one.

Donors persist in giving cash aid and not the professional services needed.
Cash is very welcome, particularly in the ministry of finance where well connected systems exist to steal it directly.
Pity the video did not show the numbers of Mercedes on the pot-holed streets driven by so-called public servants. These are the demons that need to be cast out. But the country is an ethical black hole (despite all the evangelism and loud hymn singing).

wrong Charles Taylor does not equal Liberia, Liberians are suffereing just as much as Sierra Leonians, so please don't blame Liberians for the problem that Charles Taylor helped create. And it is not all Charles Taylor, Foday Sankoh, and the leader of AFRL, are those Liberians too, Charles Taylor was welcomed in Sierra Leone, by Sierra leonians, how about the civil war between RUF and AFRL?

Traditional health care is home care with medicine and soup so omga this is so not representational of the country at all if anything its the biggest lie ive ever seen
i actually lived in sierra leone. ive been there recently I would like to know where this was filmed because Im sure this started off by saying "this is traditional health care in sierra leone" because that is a lie. It is not and never was health care so I dont know where this reporter got her information from to generalise that it is the norm of the country because it isnt.
