Superb performance. As a musician myself (albeit not in Norton's league), I sympathize regarding the circumstances. He is pouring his heart into that harmonica. Simply beautiful.
If you're offended by the chattering audience notice the little wink at 0:35. He was a great guy and great player. Under-appreciated, but not unloved or unappreciative. Knew that there was no future in live music, but still gigged. Sometimes disappointed, but always encouraging. I'm mostly glad that he found a great wife to share several years with at the end. RIP Norton. I'll be singing and playing a couple of your songs at a gig next week.
Awesome harmonica player ,,always though of him as top shelf player in the music today , and when he started ,, I truly learned to play by his technique,,and what a master at his craft ''Norton Buffalo was ,, R.I.P
Wow, thanks for posting this! Norton had such a distinctive voice on the chromatic harmonica, though he was so much better known for his blues harp. What a gem. And... hey... any musician can tell you about venues like this one, where no one seems to be listening. But listen to him. It doesn't seem to matter. RIP Norton.
What? When did Norton Buffalo die? He was one of my favorite harp players. And yes people wouldn`t know good music if it slapped them in the face. They have to be told by the media what is good.
Such beautiful music from this fine duet. He has been an inspiration to me since I first heard him play in the early 70s. Still there are people in the audience who are only interested in the sound of their own voices. When you listen you will learn from the Masters.
So sad that such a great artist was forced to play such venues full of blabbermouths who ere to stupid an superficial to appreciate who as playing for them
I agree with you. Maybe they`re all talking on their cell phones. They were standing behind the door when brains, respect, morals and understanding were being given out.
Always great to see another Norton Buffalo video. Too bad this cuts off before the song ends. Lovely version of Luiz Bonfa's "Manha de Carnaval". Thanks for sharing.
