  • Larian1975, how qualified are you to talk about scientific facts? Just another idiot trying to be famous on YOUTUBE

  • esse1esse,

(This is a fair question. I'm trying to find a way to answer you that won't make me sound like an ass. I loathe having to toot my own horn, but I can't think of another way to say this. Please forgive me.)

I am employed at the Arkansas Biosciences Institute as a research assistant. Specifically I'm the physicist on our project.

And why would I want to be famous on YouTube?

  • Also Ken Miller says this about I.D. it is a brittle and unchanging landscape, frozen in form and unable to adapt except at the whims of its designer. Ken Miller claims to believe in God and knows that macro evolution cannot be proven but micro evolution deals with changes and adaptations within a species...this is common knowledge, so as usual Ken, I don't know what you are talking about. God enhances everything in my life...just as the lack of him enhances the atheists life, I suppose.

  • To sum it all up...Ken Miller talks about the the subsystem of TTSS ....

I don't know Ken Miller, you have yet to answer anything of satisfaction for me...and this is your so called specialty.

  • Ken Miller also said...."Certainly, the issue of design and purpose in nature is a philosophical one that scientists can and should discuss with great vigor."

That is why I have been saying that macro-evolution is no longer science but philosophy.

  • Therefore, in fashioning an argument against evolution one might pick nearly any cellular structure, the ribosome for example, and claim correctly that its origin has not been explained in detail by evolution.

  • Ken Miller stated...Living cells are filled, of course, with complex structures whose detailed evolutionary origins are not known.

  • Such arguments are easy to make, of course, but nature of scientific progress renders them far from compelling. The lack of a detailed current explanation for a structure, organ, or process does not mean that science will never come up with one.

  • Ken Miller states in this paper...Living cells are filled, of course, with complex structures whose detailed evolutionary origins are not known. Therefore, in fashioning an argument against evolution one might pick nearly any cellular structure, the ribosome for example, and claim correctly that its origin has not been explained in detail by evolution.

  • One irreducibly complex protein machine that has especially captured the imagination of the biological community is the bacterial flagellum. In public lectures Harvard biologist Howard Berg calls the bacterial flagellum the most efficient machine in the universe.

  • But any reasonably complicated machine always includes subsystems that perform functions distinct from the original machine. So the mere occurrence or identification of subsystems that could perform some function on their own is no evidence for an indirect Darwinian pathway leading to the system.

  • How does the argument from irreducible complexity handle indirect Darwinian pathways? Here the point at issue is no longer logical but empirical. The fact is that for irreducibly complex biochemical systems, no indirect Darwinian pathways are known. At best biologists have been able to isolate subsystems of such systems that perform other functions.

  • OK, I read Ken Millers paper and again he fails in his explanation. Due to the limitations of character counts for the posts I will have to make comments over several posts...Sorry about this.

  • I realize my spelling and grammar bother you but I am very upset and no I am not using spellcheck...just try to keep up with the points I am trying to make please but I assure you when I write papers I use spellcheck and edit my work but this is youtube and I am writing with plenty of passion on this subject. thank you.

  • It's cool. Passion is great by me. Just don't let it get in the way of critical thinking. That's all I'm asking for.

  • If the mousetrap is designed to function as a mousetrap and you remove a part it should still function as a mousetrap if you are going to say removing parts of the flagellum will still cause the flagellum to function as it is supposed to function. If you remove parts it may not function as well as with ALL the working parts as Michael Behe is convinced but it would still function. Dr. Miller is supposed to be an expert but his example failed on this.

  • Why would it? Now a mousetrap is a bad example, but let's try to work with it anyhow.

If you removed the snap bar thingy that breaks the mouse's neck, what else could it be used for? A poor straightedge maybe? The long catch hook might become bent to carry light loads or serve as a crude fishhook. Maybe a (not so) creative person could use it as a rattle.

The loss of a part doesn't necessarily render an object useless, just useless for the job it once did.

  • well tell that to your Dr. Ken Miller...I realize that I am just an education and business degrees...nothing important as you put it...but since this bothered me and I am not even a science major...just had to study a great deal of it...do you think some of you majoring in science could explain the correlation? Dr. Ken Miller used the mousetrap design as his example..so lets go with that.

  • Stop. Right. There.

I never said your degrees were unimportant. I said you're not qualified to make the judgments you were making. Let's keep the mean things I say straight. Radical? Yes. But it got your attention and we are now having an almost civil conversation as a result.

I actually have an article by Miller right here that I can't post a link to. It's called "The Flagellum Unspun." It's not terribly long as articles go, but it's what I think you're asking for.

    Google it. 1st result.

  • When I wrote to him...he has no alternative nor an answer and that is the point. If you are going to use that example to debunk Mickael Behe then you would take the mousetrap for example...take a piece away and it would still function as a mousetrap...maybe not as well but it would function...he did not do this...he turned a mousetrap into a tie clip. No Corelation whatsoever.

  • Well it matters because this is the expertise of Michael Behe and he says ALL parts are necessary for it to function properly and removing a part does not make it function as it is designed to function just as creating a tie clip does not function as a mouse trap. So again how would a tie clip function as a mousetrap...this is the design...this is the function. Ken Miller does not correlate this and neither do you.

  • This is assuming that it was designed in the first place, which I believe to be the central flaw in your logic. Because a thing has a function now does not mean that it'll retain that function forever. Look at the vestigal olfactory cells in the human sinuses. They aren't connected to anything at all.

Also, comparing a tie clip/mousetrap to a living organism is a bad analogy. Mousetraps do not metabolize anything so far as I am aware. They're not even close.

    Expert? What's Dr. Miller then?

  • At the same time he denies that Darwin's theory of natural selection gives an acceptable explanation of the mechanism of evolution.

Dr. Soren Lovtrup - Darwinism: The Refutation of a Myth

  • What's his alternative?

  • Yes, I have heard enough from Dr. Ken Miller and I have already written him about his theories. He tried to debunk Michael Behe on The flagellum owes its status principally to Darwin's Black Box and Irreducible complexity while showing his students that he could remove a part of a mouse trap and create a TIE CLIP. The problem is the parts are put together to function as a mousetrap not a tie clip so removing parts to make something different how does it correlate to the orginal function?

  • The tie clip was a visual aid. You know that.

The flagellum does break all the way down into itty bitty working parts as I remember, most of which (if not all) can be found in use in organisms today. (And at all the various "deconstructed" stages as well if memory serves.)

A new use for an old part doesn't have to correlate to the old function. Why should it? Bat wings, for example, are quite obviously heavily modified hands/paws.

  • yes, he was getting threats from the atheists on youtube, I have never witnessed anything so evil...my psychologist boyfriend told me they have real issues and are not to be trusted while they could be dangerous because they have no respect for others and carry a deep hatred for Christians. I am very cautious of crazy people.

  • Amen fun, thats for sure. They really are, you and your boyfriend are correct.

  • smartbrains22...I know you are young and fresh out of college but please do not reveal your idenity on the internet, it is too dangerous and this guy seems like an atheist pervert who doesn't act or speak like he has any college at all. On the advise of my boyfriend, I took all my info down on my channel. I have given enough evidence of scientists with plenty of credentials who agree with you so don't worry about it. God Bless and good luck in your new career.

  • Thanks fun, I also agree, and yea I dont blame you, and my husband told me to not give him any information on me. Also did you see all the threats that VFX was getting?

  • Thank you so much for taking the time to come here and insult me. Please do so more often. It really demonstrates the quality of your character.

  • World known Swiss scientist Dr. A. E. Wilder-Smith (who recently died), with three earned doctorates in science and considered to be an expert by the United Nations, confessed after seeing the fossilized dinosaur tracks and men prints within inches of each other at Glen Rose, Texas, "...all this makes evolution impossible." And so it does.

  • Dr Lovtrup also said, "I believe that one day the Darwinian myth will be ranked the greatest deceit in the history of science." He also said, "Evolution is 'anti-science.'" And so it is.

  • Dr. Soren Lovtrup, Professor of Zoo-physiology at the University of Umea in Sweden wrote, "I suppose that nobody will deny that it is a great misfortune if an entire branch of science becomes addicted to a false theory and this is what has happened in biology: for a long time now people discuss evolutionary problems in a peculiar 'Darwinian' vocabulary...thereby believing that they contribute to the explanation of natural events."

  • I think you're out of context.

"Indeed, the nature and the wealth of the corroborating evidence are such that the theory on the reality of evolution turns out to be one of the best substantiated theories in biology, perhaps in the natural sciences."

"It thus appears that all the objections against the macromutation theory may easily be met, and this is in itself perhaps the most compelling evidence in its favour."

Dr. Soren Lovtrup - Darwinism: The Refutation of a Myth

  • Biologist, Dr. Pierre Grasse, considered the greatest living scientist in France, wrote a book to "launch a frontal assault on all forms of Darwinism." Grasse is not a religious fanatic, yet he called evolution a "pseudo-science."

  • Are you referring to irreducible complexity regarding blood coagulation? Dr. Ken Miller debunks this.

When an element known as factor 12 is knocked out, blood doesn't clot in humans. However it does in whales and dolphins. (Their blood doesn't have this)

Maybe that's not good enough. Okay. Puffer fish are missing 3 such components and their blood still clots. In fact, Doolittle has worked out how all these components could've evolved and still remain functional. Irreducible complexity isn't.

  • Famous fossil expert, Niles Eldredge confessed, "...geologists have found rock layers of all divisions of the last 500 million years and no transitional forms were contained in them." Dr. Eldredge further said, "...no one has yet found any evidence of such transitional creatures."

  • Yet. He said we haven't found them yet, and he was talking about Homo, too I believe.

If this is intended to be a debunking of evolutionary biology, it's not. They're empty spots.

If you want to debunk it once and for all, just find one example, a single one, of a higher order life form in strata lower than they should be. An ape next to a trilobite would do the trick, or any such thing.

  • Even Stephen J. Gould of Harvard admitted, "The fossil record with its abrupt transitions offers no support for gradual change."

  • Dr. David Kitts, professor of geology at the University of Oklahoma said, "Evolution requires intermediate forms between species and paleontology does not provide them...."

  • Well, I do want to leave you with this...World famous scientist, G. G. Simpson stated, "It is inherent in any definition of science that statements that cannot be checked by observation are not about anything...or at the very best, they are not science."

  • I am also done with this channel and witht the low class - no class ignorance of the macro-evolution tyranny.

  • Thank you funtravel..Im glad someone as smart wrote me back. lol Thanks for understanding.

  • Nice of you to stop by and insult me out of hand again. I guess that's the high-class, educated method of peer interaction.

If you're done with this channel, why'd you come back? Hoping I'll beg you not to leave? That's all I can come up with in the few seconds I'm willing to expend on your temper tantrum. In case you've not noticed, I don't court friendships with those who are disrespectful and rude to me. I wish we could get along, but sadly I'm just not seeing that as a possibility.

  • smartbrains22...you are right not to waste anymore time on this low class ignorant supposedly educated individual. You do not have to believe in macro-evolution, there is nothing written in stone to believe that. You are right about many people being angry about this because it is accepted and believed until they find God to be true. I understand the by "men" comment due to the claims we believe in a book written by men. Atheists do not know God yet claim they understand people who believe.

  • "You do not have to believe in macro-evolution, there is nothing written in stone to believe that."

Except for all the things in the stones I guess.

I'm trying to puzzle out why you're back here if you despise me so very much. I certainly don't have the power to make you come here; you do so of your own volition. I can only guess that you get something out of arguing with me. I'm not so hot in psychology, but that seems a sound assumption from what little I do know.

  • I really wish there was some way to insert [citation needed] into other people's posts.

It's not that I don't accept your word for it... well, actually, I don't. If you make a claim, support it with empirical evidence, or STFD & STFU.

  • I suppose you could go through each post and reply to them with [citation needed ya' retard] or words to that effect. I'm willing to dig to back my stuff. :P

  • And STFD... a new acronym for my vocabulary! Yippie!

  • Unfortunately, Richard Dawkins is not paid very well being a university professor so his agenda is to use science to promote atheism and to sell books and make money. True Scientists will tell you that Science and Atheism do not go hand in hand acutally just the opposite. Richard Dawkins has been asked many times what if he is wrong so he offers no proof of anything, just his own beliefs and opinions. That is not enough for anyone because I also have my own beliefs and opinions.

  • What is offensive to educated people are tech school rejects claiming that evolution is an excuse to disrespect the views and beliefs of others. Higher education encourages free thinking along with allowing the views and beliefs of others to be expressed as in the arena of freedom of speech. It does not, however give anyone the right to demean or downgrade anothers belief. My boyfriend has had much science and knows many scientists, they do not use evolution in the way you do.

  • No one has the right to not be offended, and I flatly refuse to give respect to a weak idea when all the evidence available refutes it. Slapping the "sacred" label on an idea does not change the preponderance of evidence that says it's not true.

As for freedom of speech, you will note that I have not edited or deleted any of your posts. I allow you to comment on this channel, for example. You do not do the same. I call hypocrisy.

  • Regarding Dawkins, I am not aware of his financial status. Does he have an agenda promoting atheism and selling books? Probably. However I don't see anything wrong with Dawkins expressing his ideas for the same reason I don't see anything wrong with you expressing yours, and my expression of my own . . . that you're poorly informed on evolutionary biology and that it's not your area of expertese.

But let's turn this "what if you're wrong" thing around.

What if I'm right? Then what?

  • I don't owe you anything or even a response, so if you don't like my ideas or my point of view then my suggestion would be to stay off my channel. The Federal program I speak of if the Federal Program called Head Start that I mentioned already so if the education system is failing then blame the government because statistics prove that home schooled and private christians schools produce the highest achievers in all subjects at college level. Do your homework.

  • My boyfriend has a ph.d in psychology and even helps writes the textbooks while also filling a fulltime position at the college and he also is a Christian and very intelligent. Get a life!

  • I tried to correct my spelling and use correct punctuation just for you as it seems to be really important for you to have a comprehension of a coherent thought.

I don't deliberately speak over an individuals head just to flaunt my education and never believing in evolution has not subtracted any I.Q. points, where do you people come up with such incredulous ideas as if you can't win an argument any other way.

  • I am qualified to process information and come to my own conclusion that evolution doesn't constitute any further merit or waste anymore time on this nonsense especially after viewing this video of a radical redneck who hasn't anything better to do than promote evolution idiocracy. Do you honestly believe that you need a ph.d in evolution or any of the fields of science to understand it?

  • No, I do not believe a Ph.D. is required to understand evolutionary biology. However, I do believe that you don't understand it.

Regarding your grammar, I addressed this in my video. You brag of being in education, yet you go out of your way to hide it. If you believe I am deliberately speaking over everyone's head, then be advised this is how I speak. Again, my videos bear me out on this.

Your argumentation style is poor. In these 4 posts I count 5 logical fallacies right off the bat.

  • Regarding your boyfriend, I don't see how his credentials lend anything to you, especially regarding evolutionary biology. What's your point?

Regarding me "staying off your channel," all I can say is that you offend me. You came here spouting disdain for my work and threw out credentials which were inadequate. As an academic, you know better than this.

  • Arguing with you over this is like playing chess against an opponent who thinks its checkers; you don't understand the rules and it shows. Your logic does not follow.

However I will allow you to redeem yourself. Tell me, if you will, what part of evolutionary biology deserves mockery. Why is it so crazy? Prove to me that you either DO have a good understanding of it and there's something we're just not getting, or prove me right. Put your money where your mouth is.

  • cake is a lie....

  • Heya goob. Keep sciencing as fast as you can! Zombie Jeebus would like it. It makes his penis hard.

  • I miss my good friend Allen...however he too is a godless heathen.

  • richard dawkins is an evil godless athiest. He will burn in hell for eternity! You wanna burn with him...if not I suggest you give your life to jesus.

  • another religious terrorist.

jesus is dead. died two thousand years ago.

    if he lived at all.

do you really believe horseshit 'raised from the dead' stories from two thousand years ago?

because it really shows how ridiculously gullible you are.

  • i dont believe in crap..and you dont believe in it either u say? hmmm evolution is a lie which i dont believe in it so evolution is evil and its a lie to me and God is real rather or not u believe...and science shows that...and him dying and raising from the dead shows how powerful God is..btw funtravel777 is awesome and i love her videos. God is awesome!!! God Bless!!

  • I changed my mind. I'm deflating all your stupid as of now.

You can not believe in gravity, but you're still going to fall. There's no evidence for any of your claims outside of the bible. Not believing in the face of evidence to the contrary makes you stupid.

Since you do not believe in the face of evidence, that makes you stupid.

(This is called a logical progression. I thought you got that skill with even imaginary degrees. Guess not.)

  • btw u r the terrorists as usual and ur the ones who shouldnt be teaching u claim to be "all smart n all" u believe in a fairy tale and u claim God is hiding or whatever but u r the ones who r pushing him away..y do u reject him but not evolution? evolution is a LIE not real never happened..

  • Now I'm a terrorist? You're a cunt and you type like an idiot. I'm sick of you and your stupidity. You will never know any more than you do today because you think you already know everything.

Your phoney baloney religion has had over 2000 years to make its case and it has failed. Your book mentions talking snakes and unicorns and biology is a "fairy tale?"

    You really need professional help.

  • u werent there n neither were we a million n billion years ago and we wont be here a million billion years from now...impossible...but u call urselves intelligent n therefore its a lie.

  • Your logic sucks. I wasn't at meteor crater when it was formed either, but I know it was caused by a giant impact.

  • evolution is stupid, so is aliens, what next omg we r all talking robots?...lol some of u sound like some u believe in people who wrote a textbook...n that life was created by LIFE!!! lol what a bunch pile of poo...i bet ur poo changes colors since ur stories all do they r always changing lol what else r ya'll going to pull out ur butt?

  • Are you aware that you are guilty of all the accusations you just leveled toward me? And did you type all this crap with your feet or something? It's like you've got a record of stupid bullshit playing in your head 24/7 and you dropped the needle down at random and typed up whatever it happened to land on. And in mid-sentence too.

If your point here was to illustrate your general ignorance and lack of education, then you have succeeded. Congratulations.

  • first off there were no accusations, because this is really how you sound with evolution it makes no sense and are you aware that I went to school and studied all the sciences...and i didnt buy into it I studied it n passed thank you but you people are the ones with no knowledge not an accusation thats just the truth...it hurts i know...

  • You have convinced me utterly of your stupidity and willful ignorance. There most certainly were accusations in the posts you've made here, yet you're too thick to understand what they are.

In short, you're in need of a caseworker. When you come here acting like a jerk, why should I treat you politely?

  • Recently, a thought captivated my mind that proves that the theory of evolution is a big hoax. The thought is simple and yet profound ... why is there no recorded history before approximately 4,000 B.C.? The answer is obvious ... there was no history! Think about it! Evolutionists claim that man evolved over billions of years (that's billions with a "B").

  • If there were any truth to these false claims by unscrupulous scientists, then man's historical record should span back at least hundreds-of-thousands of years, if not millions.

  • There is no record of a cataclysmic event that destroyed mankind prior to 4,000 B.C. And if there were, surely some of the survivors would have passed this information down to generations to follow. The Bible dates creation, as we know it today, at approximately 4,000 B.C. Thus, it was approximately 6,000 years ago that God, Jesus Christ, created the heavens and the earth in 6-days.

  • It was 6,000 years ago that Jesus Christ spoke the stars into existence. It was 6,000 years ago that Jesus spoke animals, fish, plants, and land into existence.

  • WRONG! You don't even know your own bible. This is pathetic. According to your own fairy tale, God the Father spoke and created, not the Son.

This should be embarrassing for you.

  • And it was 6,000 years ago that God formed man out of the dust of the earth.

Such Biblical claims seem absurd to modern evolutionists, who have convinced themselves that the earth is billions of years old. Ironically, they have absolutely NO EVIDENCE of such longevity. Evolutionists have sought out dishonest scientists, who distort the facts, use faulty testing methods, and make erroneous assumptions (unethically stating such assumptions as if they were facts).

  • (I thought your spelling required a little correction, so I took the liberty.)

Creationists have convinced themselves that the earth is thousands of years old. Ironically, they have absolutely NO EVIDENCE of such longevity. Creationists have sought out dishonest scientists, who distort the facts, use faulty testing methods, and make erroneous assumptions (unethically stating such assumptions as if they were facts).

    There. That looks better.

  • Evolution is at best still a THEORY. Yet, children are brainwashed in godless public schools all across the world, with evolution, which is taught as if it were a fact. This is evil. It is evil to deny students the Biblical account of creationism. The Word of God makes infinite more sense than the fairytale of evolution.

  • You have a "B.S. in Biology" and you don't know what the word theory means?

    You, madam, are a liar.

Crazy things make sense to crazy people. Like you and Creationism for example.

  • One of the simplest and best proofs that evolution is a joke, is the FACT that there is NO recorded history prior to 4,000 B.C. The world's history is CLEARY defined by SIX world powers since time began: Egypt, Assyria, Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greece, and Rome. Since Rome's fall in 476 A.D., there have been no world-powers (many super-powers; but, no world-powers). At the time of Moses, Egypt ruled the world.

  • One of the simplest proofs that the bible is a book of lies is that Jesus was NEVER called Emmanuel in the new testament. Another one is its insistence that the earth is flat, floats on water, and is covered by a dome surrounded by water. Still another is its claim of talking snakes and unicorns and the explanation that snails melt to move along.

  • The Israelites were used as slave labor by Pharaoh to build the pyramids. Before Egypt, there is absolutely nothing recorded in history about a world-power.

  • There is nothing outside the bible recording the Jews being slaves in Egypt either. In fact, there is no mention of Moses outside of the bible. There is not one shred of archaeological evidence that the Jews spent 40 years in the desert. We've looked for over 300 years and it's not there to be found. We can find the remains of 10,000 year old campfires under now submerged coastline with a fucking drop-bucket, but we can't find 40 years of civilization in a desert? Bullshit.

  • It is NO coincidence that Revelation 17:10 speaks of these world-powers, "...five are fallen, and one is, and the other is not yet come; and when he cometh, he must continue a short space." At the writing of Revelation, Rome was still a world-power. The Apostle John, under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, tells us that Rome is the 6th world-power, and there is one more to come.

  • I guess the English and Spanish empires didn't qualify. Your reasoning sucks.

(How do YOU like having your inbox filled with a ton of disrespectful messages? I guess it's different when you do it to me, huh?)

  • The 7th world-power will be the beast system, the kingdom of the antichrist. This diabolical New World Order is quickly forming now (i.e., a universal religious view, global centralized government, a one-world economic system, a cashless society, etc.).

  • Wait... aren't you Christians WANTING a universal religious view, so long as it's yours?

  • Do you think it's a mere coincidence that the Word of God is so concise on world history? The Bible records the beginning of mankind at about 4,000 B.C., and secular history is eerily silent before 4,000 B.C. for those who claim to believe in evolution. If I were an evolutionist, I would be extremely disturbed by this FACT. Prove me wrong! I dare you. I triple-dog dare you to show me any recorded civilization before 4,000 B.C.

  • You "triple-dog dare me" to show you recorded civilization before 6000 years ago?

The Vedic civilization in India and East Asia dates to WAY before that by almost 4000 years.

    You fail.

  • And I don't mean some pottery jug or item that you claim is 14,000 years old--Show me any evidence of civilization prior to 4,000 B.C. You cannot. In fact, it is difficult to find much recorded history before 2,500 B.C., because the flood of Noah's day destroyed most of it. How can evolutionists be so naive and foolish as to totally ignore this incredibly obvious fact?

  • So you want to see any evidence besides the evidence? How can you be so obtuse, thick, willfully ignorant, and stupid? Your arrogance floors me.

  • There is NO recorded history prior to 4,000 B.C.--no writings, no carved stones, no battles, no wars, no countries, no nothing! It's as if mankind just suddenly began (which is exactly what the Bible teaches happened). God created man out of the dirt, the elements, of the earth. There were no humans before approximately 4,000 B.C. Hard to imagine? Why should it be? There is no history to indicate that humans existed prior to 4,000 B.C.

  • I was planning to answer each of your points directly, but then realized that nothing I say will matter to you. I could show you all the evidence available regarding human civilization and recorded history and it just wouldn't work. Fossil records are lost on you. You simply have a need to believe this stuff. Any evidence which sets off your Jesus alarm is ignored before it is even allowed to be considered.

So thank you for the book you typed. It shows you care. I wish you weren't so afraid.

  • Wrong again. The Vedic civilization dates to just after the last ice age.

  • This fact is irrefutable. Oh sure, some stubborn evolutionists are going to start talking about carbon-dating, archeological findings, etc. BUT, the bottom line is that the history of mankind should be traceable far beyond 4,000 B.C., going back million of years IF evolution were true.

  • Not if writing hadn't been invented yet.

  • oooo ok well I have more to ask... Why 7,000 Languages? If, as evolutionists claim, all of mankind evolved from the SAME primitive life- source, then how did we end up with 7,000 different languages? The Bible teaches that God created all the different languages at Babel... "Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another's speech ...

  • This was a really mean thing for god to do if you check his reasoning. But in answer to your question, let's talk about the first thing wrong with your assumption. You assume that a god created all these languages around 6000 years ago. In that time, I doubt 700 distinct linguistic variations could arise, much less 7000.

However over a period of 100,000 years, this is plausible. It's because languages diverge in isolation. They change. Fossil records support this timescale.

  • At least 20% of the worlds languages are in imminent danger of becoming extinct as their last speakers die off, compared with about 18% of mammals, 8% of plants and 5% of birds.

  • So? This proves nothing.

  • The extinction of a language translates into a loss of knowledge, said K. David Harrison, associate director of the Living Tongues Institute for Endangered Languages and a linguist at Swarthmore College. When we lose a language, we lose centuries of thinking about time, seasons, sea creatures, reindeer, edible flowers, mathematics, landscapes, myths, music, the unknown and the everyday, he said.

  • Again, so? What's your point other than to annoy me by spamming?

  • Harrison and Living Tongues Director Gregory D.S. Anderson have identified five language hot spots where the extinction rate is particularly high, they said at a news conference sponsored by the National Geographic Society, which supports their research.

  • This doesn't apply to your argument. This is useless spam.

  • I have more to say.. Therefore is the name of it called Babel; because the LORD did there confound the language of all the earth: and from thence did the LORD scatter them abroad upon the face of all the earth" (Genesis 11:7,9).

  • You didn't say that. You got it out of an old book of fairy tales. At least you cited it correctly.

  • It is far more reasonable to accept the Biblical claim that God created all of mankind's different languages; than it is to believe that some space-dust from a massive chaotic explosion somehow became life, and then took on intelligence, and then from the same evolutionary process ended up with 7,000 different languages. That makes no sense at all.

  • No. It is far easier to accept the biblical claim. It is in direct contradiction to reason. These things don't happen. It's never been witnessed. Nothing remotely close has been witnessed.

Why is it you scoff at the notion that life on Earth arose from space dust through natural and observable processes visible even today, yet have no trouble with the story about god making man from a lump of dirt by a stream? THAT makes no sense, man.

  • Can scientist create a living cell? One single cell? Oh and by the way this is your information on the languages..Researchers say a language disappears every two weeks LOS ANGELES TIMES By Thomas H. Maugh II September 19, 2007 in print edition A-18 One of the worlds 7,000 distinct languages disappears every 14 days, an extinction rate exceeding that of birds, mammals or plants, researchers said Tuesday.

  • No, but we can synthesize proteins and yeast, and have rebuilt retrovirii from remnants left in human DNA.

Can Christians produce an Old Testament miracle?

  • There are no "primitive" languages. All languages have a system of sounds, words, and sentences that can adequately communicate the content of culture. This is evidence of a divine Creator. The languages of the so-called "primitive" peoples are often very complex in their grammatical structures. If mankind had advanced through an evolutionary process, then there should still be developing languages today; but in fact, one languages disappears every 2-weeks...

  • The fact that mankind's languages are vanishing from civilization at any alarming rate is proof that evolution is a lie. If evolution were true, then the process by which mankind has obtained 7,000 languages would be continuing today. Has the evolutionary process ceased? According to the Bible it never happened in the first place. One would have to be a fool to follow the nonsense of evolution.

  • Pressures are not causing new languages to arise. Globalization has, in fact, caused the thinning of languages we see today. We are not living in small tribes at war with the band of enemy people who live in the black hills near the sun anymore.

Do you want my idea about why Genesis says god created all the languages? No? Well here it is anyway.

They knew the story about everyone coming from one pair of humans didn't add up if there were so many languages, so they made this Babel stuff up.

  • The top hot spot is northern Australia, where 153 languages spoken by Aborigines are at risk. There are currently only three known speakers of Magati Ke in the Northern Territory and three Yawuru speakers. The team found one elderly speaker of Amurdag which had previously been declared extinct and he could barely recall the language spoken by his father.

  • Languages do develop today, although globalization has reduced this effect. It is still present in local dialect though.

    You're really dumb.

  • It's amazing to me how people continually place God and the Bible on trial; yet unquestioningly accept the theories of evolution. This just shows their wicked heart of unbelief in the Word of God.

  • You're kidding, right? We test our theories all the time and try to break 'em. We try hard. We WANT to break our theories so we can get closer to the truth, no matter what that truth is.

If we had something better than Darwin's theory we'd be using it. But the fact is that after 150 years of literally millions of people trying every day to show it wrong, we haven't been able. It explains what the biblical creation stories couldn't.

  • God does not force us to believe in him, though he could. Instead, he has provided sufficient proof of his existence for us to willingly respond to him. The earth's perfect distance from the sun, the unique chemical properties of water, the human brain, DNA, the number of people who attest to knowing God, the gnawing in our hearts and minds to determine if God is there, the willingness for God to be known through Jesus Christ.

  • I would disagree. If gods existed, none of them has ever provided sufficient proof that they are real. Whenever you look for one experimentally they disappear further into the cracks.

Take the god Poseidon, the god of the sea, for example. Does he exist? His worshipers believe he does. They feel his presence in their hearts and can see his influence in the storms and tides. If you make him mad, he'll either destroy your village with a tidal wave or sink your ship. Is Poseidon real? *Hint: No.*

  • I didnt say gods, there is only one God, and Jesus was the only one who came to earth claiming to be God, and he is the only way, and if you find him, you find truth, and he says if you seek HIM full heartidly he will let you find him. Even when Jesus was showing his love to the people in the world, he was still wanting their faith, so even if he was here you would need faith. "ye seek and ye shall find him." Many have found Jesus.

  • Jesus also said a bunch of other stuff that wasn't true. He said he would return during his disciple's lifetimes and he didn't. He said the people alive at the time would "not taste death" before the world ended, too. Again, this was not true. So why should anyone have to seek him? Is he hiding?

See, scripture repeatedly fails this reality test, which is why I and others like me discount it. Nothing it tells us about the world is true, which is why we are baffled that anyone believes it.

  • Jesus hasn't said anything to be a lie. He returned to them after he died for 3 days. It wasnt the end times then, theres scriptures that explain and points of his return again. No one knows the day or the hour, hes giving people a chance to be saved and find him, before he returns.

  • Not so. You might want to check that scripture over again. Matthew 24: 29-34 is rather plain. And it's a plain lie. Everyone who heard him speak that message has been dead almost 2000 years.

  • Its the plain truth. He told them he wasnt coming in that time..He was speaking of the time he is going to come and thats when the whole world will see him. And he gave them the signs of when it would be near to see him. Its better to read the bible after you found Jesus.

  • What you're missing here is that he said all of these things would happen while these people were still alive.

Matthew 24: 34Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.

That's the key. That's what makes it a lie. None of this has happened in 2000 years, and it won't happen tomorrow either.

  • Look at 24:32 and 33 he wasnt talking about the generation that was already there. You're missing the part with the fig tree. hes speaking of the people with the fig tree that happens in their lifetime will not pass away..and the fig tree has already happened in 1948 when Isreal became a nation and the 1948 generation hasnt all passed away yet..There are places where Jesus talks and compares Isreal to the fig tree and its already happened..

  • I didn't miss the fig tree. That's not what it says. You're "interpreting" stuff, which is bad. The fig tree was an analogy of things to come. When you see leaves growing, you know that summer is almost here.

In the same way, when you see these signs he speaks of, (which never happened), the end of the world is almost here, beginning with line 7,(famine, pestilence, disease, etc.) Again, the clincher here is that all this was supposed to happen within 60 years or so.

  • The bible says the earth is circle..the bible is referring to north, east, south, west, thats the four pillars..you have to know God to interpret the bible, once you know Jesus, you know his word and that its true. The signs he speaks of hasnt came to pass yet, but our grandmothers generation hasnt all died out yet, because the fig tree happened in their time.

  • Not so. The ancient Hebrew view of the world was exactly as I describe.

And again with the fig tree... Look, it was an analogy that had nothing to do with a Jewish nation. It was about reading signs of things to come. (BTW, since you're so hot on the fig tree thing, you'll recall that he got mad at one and killed it because it didn't bear fruit out of season.)

But even more ridiculously, you're talking about a belief in magic here. Come on. Monsters and demons? Hocus pocus? This. Is. Crap.

  • If your just regarding that Jesus doesnt exists especially since people have found him..thats just wrong..because many people have found him because they wanted to, but just because you dont want to then your fairytale is the only way and truth to you?

  • I don't rely on people for what is true, I rely on the available evidence. People claim they've found Jesus. Fine.

People claim they see ghosts, talk with the dead, can see the future, receive messages from space aliens, were abducted by space aliens, and a whole host of other ridiculous things too. A LOT of people. But that doesn't make what they're claiming true, even if they really believe in it, and most of them do.

God does not talk to you. You talk to him and make up what "he" says back.

  • Well I've been saying you don't understand the bible, and its clear you don't, because you don't have him or want him, so back to evolution and why its wrong.

  • No, I was just raised in this nonsense and went on to be a preacher for a few years. When I started looking at the evidence it just wasn't adding up.

You're too stupid to look at the evidence. You're scared. And I will NOT have sex with you no matter how much you beg.

  • The Earth...its size is perfect. The Earth's size and corresponding gravity holds a thin layer of mostly nitrogen and oxygen gases, only extending about 50 miles above the Earth's surface. If Earth were smaller, an atmosphere would be impossible, like the planet Mercury. If Earth were larger, its atmosphere would contain free hydrogen, like Jupiter.3 Earth is the only known planet equipped with an atmosphere of the right mixture of gases to sustain plant, animal and human life.

  • Life arose on Earth because conditions were favorable. Of all the billions of likely planets in the Universe, the odds of no life occurring anywhere seems far less likely than that it would occur somewhere.

And what about signs which indicate the possibility of microbial life on Mars? It's conditions are hardly what you describe as ideal and perfect. Two moons, different rotation, vastly different size and atmosphere, plate tectonics, and distance from the sun.

  • The Earth is located the right distance from the sun. Consider the temperature swings we encounter, roughly -30 degrees to +120 degrees. If the Earth were any further away from the sun, we would all freeze. Any closer and we would burn up. Even a fractional variance in the Earth's position to the sun would make life on Earth impossible. The Earth remains this perfect distance from the sun while it rotates around the sun at a speed of nearly 67,000 mph.

  • It is also rotating on its axis, allowing the entire surface of the Earth to be properly warmed and cooled every day. And our moon is the perfect size and distance from the Earth for its gravitational pull. The moon creates important ocean tides and movement so ocean waters do not stagnate, and yet our massive oceans are restrained from spilling over across the continents.4

  • Even a fractional variance in the Earth's position to the sun would make life on Earth impossible. The Earth remains this perfect distance from the sun.

Wrong. The Earth has an elliptical orbit around the sun, and its distance varies throughout the year, as does its rotational period.

What you don't know about basic science could fill a book. And it does. Lots of them. Please educate yourself. I'm willing to help.

  • Ninety-seven percent of the Earth's water is in the oceans. But on our Earth, there is a system designed which removes salt from the water and then distributes that water throughout the globe. Evaporation takes the ocean waters, leaving the salt, and forms clouds which are easily moved by the wind to disperse water over the land, for vegetation, animals and people. It is a system of purification and supply that sustains life on this planet, a system of recycled and reused water.

  • What does any of this have to do with your previous claims about water's "perfect solubility"?

And stop saying "designed." It's a bad argument and I'll show you why. Tornadoes, floods, tsunamis and hurricanes would necessarily be a part of this design wouldn't they? These supposedly designed things indiscriminately kill people by the hundreds. So from this we can reasonably conclude the designer is either inept, evil, or apathetic. No matter which one, he is not worthy of praise or worship.

  • The storms, and disasters, and diseases, and esp. cancer, and pollution is because of man, and chemicals, and so don't blame God for that, its all man. Harmful effects causes these things.

  • Man... causes tsunamis? Tornadoes? Wow. That statement was just ridiculous beyond words to describe.

Isn't it interesting that your god gets all the glory when things go right, (because he "designed" everything), but he never gets the blame when things go bad.

  • Do you think God destroyed the O'zone layer, or do you think men did that with their chemicals?!! Well where'd you get your PH.D? Where did they not tell you men isn't destroying the planet? God gave us the world to enjoy it, and protect it, but all we've done is destroy it.

  • You said science is not hard. How qualified are you to say that? We do it for a living and know how bloody hard it gets. If you're as good as you let on you should have no trouble giving me your credentials.

What does the "O'zone" layer have to do with us being responsible for natural disasters? If you're going to play the "global warming" card next, I can send you my paper on that one.

  • Thats why they are natural disasters, because of nature tampering, this is what caused it, it is because of man. Science isn't hard to learn or study, it's fun, and like I said it proves God more and more. I have a B.S (Biology)

  • Man causes earthquakes, tornadoes, tsunamis, and hurricanes? Right.

You've got a BS in Biology? Cool. I'm the president of the moon because I just said so. I've also got a PhD in theology for the same reason. Prove it. Credentials. Now.

  • Whats your problem? I've already told you that I found Jesus, so that's reference enough, I've already explained how mithra is a mockery of Jesus, alot of people have a relationship with Jesus because they found him, btw JESUS cut the time table in history. I've done my homework, I've done my research, and I'm telling you Jesus is real and you can find him, but if you don't want him then you will never know him or know the truth.

  • My problem is that you're a complete retard and a pretender.

  • I am married sir, and I have a great man, and he's very smart, and way better looking, and you are wrong about me, about God, and about evolution. I will not be visiting your channel anymore..btw my husband was an athiest and hes very upset evolutionist lied to him, and he had to find the truth, and he found Jesus. I hope you find Jesus the truth, before you die. God Bless. and have a good life.

  • You mean you aren't going to insult me any more and spam my channel with dozens of rude, wrong, and obnoxious comments? What ever shall I do? Frankly I'm glad you decided to move elsewhere and feed your crap to someone who might be hungry for it. Coincidentally, my level of physical attractiveness has nothing to do with what I know to be true about the world. You have proven nothing but your ignorance. What humility you lack.

  • Its not spamming if Im answering your questions..but your to ignorant to have understanding, thats why Im moving on. Your not a free-thinker, you mimick whats out of text books like its all powerful and all knowledge, and if you're at all what a good scientist is, Im going for my masters. Now you csn quit spamming me. You have no class what so ever, no social class or skills. Quit spamming me! Go read your textbook written by MEN!

  • By "MEN?" Is that sexist?

If you'd like to know why I sent you a pile of "mean" replies, it's because you didn't seem to mind the idea when you were doing it to me. I got 14 posts from you within a space of an hour, many of which plainly call me some variation on an idiot. And that was your first volley. In fact, I feel that you have done nothing but belittle me since you came here.

The part that floors me is that you seem surprised when I took offense and reciprocated!

    I still want your C.V.

  • Look Im done..Ive already gave you evidences, my resources..and I've tried talking to you. All you do is deny it, and then hug your text book, I cannot talk to someone who is like that. Don't be spreading lies about christians either, you are the ones who made evolution world wide, and are forcing people to believe in it. Thats not a choice..And btw I study and do the samethings you do in science, but I just dont believe in it..more

  • As for evidence, you never answered a single one of my questions that I recall. Why? I really want to know. I'm also curious as to why you're back here when you swore never to return.

By the way, if anyone is forced to believe in natural selection, it is because of the supporting evidence for it, not because of some imaginary blacklist.

I don't need to "spread lies" about Christians to make them look bad. History does that handily.

And Mithra still came first by 600 years.

  • Im not giving you any information about me, Ive spoke to much as is to let you know I do have a degree, but I dont trust radical athiests, and mithra is a myth, and any other that isnt Jesus, because only Jesus has revealed himself to me that he is the only one that is the way, truth, and the life. Also I wont respond back if you wouldnt send me a a message, so if you want me gone, then dont send me a message.

  • I think you've not been honest with me. Your behavior does not fit with that expected of someone doing work in the sciences, nor does your claim that something is "just a theory" ring true for someone claiming the credentials you do.

In short, I don't believe you and I can't until you show me proof. Your refusal merely adds to the evidence in support of my current conviction.

Regarding messages, this is my channel. You transparently want the last word here and you're not going to get it.

  • No the point is dont respond to me and i wont to you..thats funny, Im glad you dont believe me, I prefer it that way actually. I dont know why its a problem for me to have a degree and also believe in God, but anyways good thing I have both. Btw what did you say your credentials were? Didn't you allude to the fact you are a student?

  • Allude? I've done nothing of the sort. I flat tell people I'm a student. It's right in my profile here for the public to see. I also tell them where I work, what my majors are, and what my project entails insofar as I am allowed to do so, and all you have to do is ask.
