Great Story, Great Band(s) Both Rough Francis and Death. Diablorosa, what are you taking about "Not quite the proto gem the NY times promised"? I'm glad I don't have your ears, otherwise I wouldn't have gotten so many years of enjoyment from music.
Not quite the proto gem the NYT's hyped but it looks like they are having fun so who cares what a bunch of old punks think-they should get busy -go man go and never forget THE STOOGES!
"Not quite? the proto gem the NYT's hyped"? You're saying this based on a YouTube video of a cover band? Buy the f------ album. It may or may not reach Stooges' heights, but it's better (and more punk) than anything the Dictators or the MC5 or the New York Dolls ever put out. Long live Death.
WOW,both bands rule!! What a nice way to start St. Paddy's Day! My nine year old and I will be looking foreward to finding and listening to more music from both of these bands. Cool then and now.........
Also read about Rough Francis and Death in the NYT article. Very very cool. Really amazing music. I was 23 when Death recorded their stuff and I would have liked it then if I'd heard it.
And I love the fact that the sons (and friends) are playing songs from their father.
Ah yes, the required arrogant potshot from nobody. This guy shows up in every comments section, no? Boring, predictable...crawl back in your hole and shut up, nobody cares what you think. It's good music. It was ahead of its time. End of story.
This is amazing! I just read the NY Times article and its amazing that Death didn't blow up in the early 70's since George Clinton and Iggy Pop AND MC5 all were friends and Death is the apparent link. Better late than never.
These guys are going to be playing much bigger venues now that article in the NY Times was published. It's long overdue. Why does the world have to take so long recognizing brilliance?
You can thank the corporate label hacks (Clear Channel Communications & MTV as an example) for ruining everything good, real and genuine. They are, in my opinion, no less vicious than oppressive dictatorships depriving their people basic human rights and shoveling shit into their mouths.
Just got the Death CD - it's stunning - love it so much.

This isnt really a cover band. Three of the members are the Decendants of the punk sensation group Death. The will release a album shortly infact.

@satinhooks umm....not really. There the kids of the original band, so they're basically playing a tribute to there parents...

I came here from th NYT article expecting a whole lot more. This is no missing link. Now it takes 5-6 sons to play what their dad's did as a trio.

This band kicks but there is no way in hell I would go to VT to see them. But then again I wouldn't go to VT to see Jesus come down off the cross.

because it's considered underground music...their song has to be in a commercial or in a movie for the MTV robots and zombies to take notice....
