The NHRA screwed the US for 1/4 mile record by disallowing rocket cars in the late 80's or Millers record would have been set here not in Santa Pod UK. They claimed it was because of liability and insurance reasons all bullshit. Rocket cars have ran over in the UK for years without as many mishaps per field as Top Fuels. The rocket cars were surpassing the top fuels and jet cars it was political. If Top fuels are so safe then why did Kalitta die? NHRA bring back the rockets.

Very well put together. In drag racing, unlike NASCAR, fans go to see racing. Unfortunatley these crashes do happen and thanks to people like John Force, the cars are getting safer. Unfortunately someone usually dies before these efforts are made. Crashes in any motorsport are not good. Especially drag racing because of the incredible speeds they go. NHRA fans like racing. NASCAR is all about the crahses. Their commercials prove it. Good Job.

That Ron Capps(Skoal) explosion was brutal! NHRA officials overheard him tell the comentator that he was knocked out for a few seconds. The band him from running that day and made him go to the hospital to get checked out. (should have kept his mouth shut!)

the best part about the NHRA... every ticket is a pit pass!!! thats right just walk upto a 8000hp fire breathing dragon. stand about 6 feet away when they fire it up and get your fillings shook loose.i can't think of a better way to spend the day!!!

At the beginning, it is amazing to see how low of tire pressures that they have to start out with in drag racing. The tires look almost flat. Very cool video by the way, great timing with the music and video =]
