Nice review! You said earlier that you don't really care about scoring, but you do care about survival. Well in this game things are a bit different as you need to score to obtain more extra lives. So if you're really wanting to 1CC this game, then you should learn how to milk every last bit of point items you can in this game, to get all of the extra lives, and more score at the same time!

From what I understand about the Spellcard rules that Reimu wrote (is that canon? I can't remember), is that you actually have to create a type of magic field during spellcards, especially if you are the one being challenged (the bosses, in this case). These usually appear as a stylized background. Yes, that means when you fight, lets say, Flandre, there is a giant posing Flandre image underneath you.

I always assumed the mural with lots of spring-looking things was the visual depiction of the essence of the season she stole. I don't know if anyone else agrees.

I'm pretty sure that's not right, because if you look at IaMP, she still has it for one or two of her Spell-cards, despite no longer having any spring-essence. It might be a visual representation of her power, which is more impressive (she's so powerful that she materialize a giant fan mural to control her power).

Yuyuko as a final boss is the most visually amazing in Touhou. The epic, commanding music, the cherry trees below and the cherry petals, the ominous Saigyou Ayakashi tree and her giant imposing fan. It makes you think death wouldn't be so beautiful and dreamy, while being so heart pounding and terriffying.

Yes, I would have expected nothing less from the man who brought us Ask Yuyuko. On that note, I totally understand how you feel, Yuyuko is an amazing character, and I think we pretty much all feel that way about our favorites.

Yea for Yuyuko fanboyism. :) Even though I like characters like Youmu and Satori alot, Yuyuko seems to be the closest to be personality wise.
