  • hmmm this song...this hidden place....this "significant other" that managed to "invent a charm that makes him invisible", yet he's still here, real...in the hidden place... I have no words for this song, it portrays something that is hard to express with words, at least for me, but that, of course, doesn't matter at all. ;-)

  • I wish I was there to see this live...

  • Fat chicks in the background seemed like bored. They have no love for this like Bjork

  • Cant understand it, but I love Bjork she has an average voice & her delivery is armature, her pitch sux, the card guy is nothing special & hate electronic computer effects, YET I love her Miles Davis approach to music it just get to me???????????????????????

  • @1960COB That's because you are aware of what she is doing on a level that you don't quite yet fully understand. Bjork knows how to access the primitive side of us and travels across the fine border between trance and dreamstate like a trapeze artist, blowing us all away with the ease at which she does it.

  • Wow ... I'm glad I finally found this video on youtube. I remember watching this Bjork concert on an HBO special back in the late 1990's. I remember being fascinated by the dude with the cards and the background singers. And Bjork ... God she is so awesome. Amazing that the guy with the cards seems to be shuffling the cards randomly ... but if you watch and listen closely ... he's keeping rhythm as well. Fascinating. YES ... a deck of cards can be used as instruments !

  • Whoever thought about this was on some FANTASTIC drugs.

  • When I asked my parents for a musical instrument as a child, they gave me a stack of cards. I originally thought they were playing with my head. Or maybe they were reminding me how poor we were. But I learned well and played with bjork onstage! Take that you guitar hero assholes!

  • I gotta say, those cards really do add to the song.

  • björk is a poet. her lyrics are divine. she should publish a poetry book.

  • Card Hero, coming soon on xbox 360 and PS3

  • OMG at the cards. That's amazing only bjork!!!

  • How the hell do you shuffle cards rhythmically?

  • THIS IS AMAZING.. THIS IS WHY I LOVE HER..... sigh...

  • Sorry, but what a load of crap!

  • @Goldberry2007 What r u talking about this is amazing

  • @Goldberry2007 srry but you're the a load of crap.

  • it's me or the choir its a lil out of tune at the bridge?

  • jajaja eriza la piel

  • great performance!! when and where was this? thx

  • some guys?? they are MATMOS

  • this was for David Bowies 50th birthday...

  • this was for David Bowies 50th birthday...

  • Bjork....always ahead of the curve.

  • one of the best songs ever

  • Oh, c'mon: isn't "that guy" from Matmos? They recorded "Vespertine" with her!

  • i wanna be the guy shufflin those cards in a Bjork performance

  • @houstone29 your truth is skewed

  • a sound unlike any other

  • I just love the way she moves. It´s like a little child in front of TV trying to dance :)

  • affected and infected

  • Does anyone know what age the girl from bjork is?

  • i'm refering to the people at the back of bjork....

  • from where are these people? sorry that ignorant ask. are they icelandic? cuz dont seem it for me...

  • @didilene07 I'm assuming they're Tibetan, Bjork is known for being very interested in their culture.

  • @amerijuanicannnn makes sense, they seem tibetans also..

  • @amerijuanicannnn No, they are from Greenland. Bjork hand picked them, when she went on holiday there.

  • @didilene07 The choir is from Greenland. Bjork says this in reply to a question from Letterman at the end of the youtube video: Bjork Pagan Poetry (live on letterman).

  • i realy love hidden place and pagan poetry the best songs from bjork

  • wow. creativity 10/10

  • love the way she moves when she sings..especially when she pauses and *bends*!! x )

  • good background singers. Nice deck of cards. make a nice percussion instrument.

    Nice song

  • Oh God, this is so good

  • I wish I were there

  • bjork.....<3

  • she is the greatest singer i ever heard

  • that poor guy had to shuffle the deck nonstop...

  • Evil Activities - No Place To Hide <---this MUSIC! :))

  • Love Bjork - but shame about the intentional 5 pointed star on the deck of cards!

  • @mindbombdisposal 5 pointed star?? what?

  • @vespervolta - I can see you're a youngster - so whilst not trying to disparage you I would suggest you study the occult, occult symbols and the occult within the music industry - then you'd never ask such a question like: what?

  • @mindbombdisposal Uh, pentacles aren't evil...

  • @mindbombdisposal Plus it's a star... there's no circle.

  • @mindbombdisposal meaning ?

  • will love bjork forever. shes full of beautiful melodies

  • I've never seen Bjork so hot as in this video. I''m in love with you Bjork:)

  • WHAT A GIRL!!!!

  • bjork + matmos = rolling orgasms.

  • the goddess that we call bjork !!!!!

  • I remember in one interview she said that the album 'Vespertine' was inspired by things she found in her kitchen! Muse is everywhere!

  • She is soo incredibly talented!!!

  • does anyone know if this concert is available on dvd?

  • Is it possible to get this performance on DVD or CD ??????

  • I remenber seeing this on hbo

  • The choir's faces look like the ensemble is to be taken out and shot after the concert.

  • me and her would make great friends

  • she is so beautiful!!! i know everybody says it but nevertheless it is true!!!

  • donde puedo hallar ésta version con el principio alargado?? Es que me gustó el du, dudu, dudu, dudu, dudu.

  • Unlimited talent and creativity is what Bjork is all about. Spellbinding!

  • @hesterpie And the craziest thing is that she don't even take drugs, she only took LSD once...All those beautifull things and ideas are in her mind, and not a product of psychoactives...Pure talent!

  • @hesterpie yea bet she real creative in the bedroom 2!

  • do anybody knows wich gig it was?

    thanks

  • Love Bjork but never before heard that song. Wow - that's a good one - glad I found it !

  • This is everything art should be.

  • I love her music... she got everthing!

  • musik und kleider fantastisch!

  • hidden

  • choir is kinda weak but Bjork is so amazing

  • 'i performed with bjork!'

really? what instrumen did u play?'

'i uhh...shuffled through some different things'

    'u played multiple instruments live?!'

    'yea...let's go with that'.

  • lol

  • @phunkymunkyrulz thought I was going to fall off the bed from laughter lol that is funny. Exactly the response I could hear in my head.

  • @phunkymunkyrulz

while that is sort of funny, I think you are missing the point

Björk is all about organic sounds and eccentric beats, she often mix them together to create mind blowing tracks. She often records sounds using her music box and even the sound of the shoes walking into the ice plays a big part in some of her tracks. It's all these marvelous elements and if you are looking at beyond superficial level it's magic

That is what makes her unique and so far ahead of any other musicians

  • @p0rt1sh3ad

I'm not making fun of bjork.

    You know that right?

I think I could've left the same comment on any bjork video. I didn't think it was nesseccary to state something that didn't need to be said.

  • @phunkymunkyrulz ....I *think* that's one of the guys from Matmos - if it is, they DO do more than shuffle cards and walk on ice in Aurora...except random tasks seem to be a speciality :o/

  • @theatregeek84 Oh haha Well, im not saying he can't do anymore, i'm just saying for this particular performance, the explanation would be an intresting one. That's all.

  • @phunkymunkyrulz ...ha yeah I know...explanation being: Bjork said so!

  • i love this song, its so mellow i wish i could find more music that was so dreamy like this

  • Yay, there's also a harp!

  • La cancion de mi hijito si tengo x3 ♥

  • damn it would be sweet to shuffle cards onstage

  • super song

  • wow!

  • If someone asked med "whats the most beautifull song in the world" I would answer "a hidden place" by BJÖRK

  • good choice indeed, but for me the most beautufl one she's created is'' ALL IS FULL OF LOVE''

    Peace

  • she is just SUBLIME!

  • Can I hide ther too? Hide in the air of him. Seek solance, sanctuary.

  • this is an incredibly good song.. and.. live.. i love it. i love her for her unique nature.. and fearlessness

  • well i have been slightly shy, and i can smell a pinch of hope

  • Many try, many follow, many fail!

Bjork is one of a kind. She keeps it real, bands need to follow there own sounds instead of following the generic sheep line of sounds like the rest, this is why most music is such a bore now days..

Thanks Bjork for your graceful art.

  • agreement!!!!!

  • I wish more people thought like this

  • She sounds so sexual yet so childlike

    Awesome!

  • Does anyone have this concert on mp3? I would be more than gragteful if someone sent it to me... She is such a wonder. :)

  • where and when did whas happen ? how many ppl ? i dream to be on like this. small group of ppl and her voice

  • bjork, so beautiful, so petite, so perfect =)

  • The two guys doing the beats (including the cards shuffle) are MATMOS !!! Amazing duo

  • Musically speaking: Wow She's incredible! and very 'out of the box' Luv it!

Creatively speaking: Very imaginative and unique

Sexually speaking: from a hetero POV, she's very erotic in a kinky kind of way - tiny, feathers, black stockings, HOT!

  • that card shuffler probly wouldn't cut it in Vegas

  • lol

  • Hypnosis

  • the instrument they used reminds me of a song by emilie simon.

    both equally creative!

  • Genious performance!!!

    I absolutely love this song!!!

"Vespertine", in my opinion, is one of the BEST albums released EVER!

  • okay tronus whatever...

the death yu hope for others is the death you will encounter....karma....everyone dies... and everyone is entitled to an OPINION...have a good one

  • damn dude. chill.

  • Lord Jesus, wat climbed up your briches?

  • I agree with you

renethel, I'm from Canada and alot of times i get asked by people on the internet if we live in Igloos!

I was shocked like common! lol Funny no doubt but disturbing how uninformed alot of people are.

  • Eskimo chicks are HAWT.

  • Bjork's not Eskimo. A lot of people think she is Eskimo. Others think she's Japanese, but she's Icelandic.

  • IDIOT! The back up singers are Inuit [please don't call em eskimos] and OF COURSE Bjork is icelandic.

  • Hey, it takes one to know one. ;)

I told the user Bjork's not Eskimo, because A LOT of people have said she is that. Some people think that all Icelanders are Eskimo. Also, A TON, believe that Bjork is hot, which gave me the idea the user was referring to her.

I also know that the choir singers are Inuit. I wouldn't call them Eskimos, especially considering that it's usually used in a derogatory manner.

  • I have tights like that! :D

But of course, they look best with that dress. Love this song and the little chorus here.

  • bjork uses alot of sounds from difrent objects to make beats in her music. in Joga she used Volcanic sounds awesome. love her!!!!

  • the card shuffle...i think he's providing the music sound effect,

  • Good performance.... :) and good voice too ; )

  • this is my favorite song and its sooo dams perfect its frieghtening

  • not my favorite song but of course the performance was AMAZING!!!

  • This performance couldn't be more perfect. Just beautiful.

  • she looks so beautiful^^

  • this fucking awesome

    bjork is the shit!

  • Exraordinary

  • ....crazy!

  • Amazing !!!! Perfect !!!! B

  • right back at ya!!!

  • ha! what's with that dude shuffling cards, what's the use for that on a video, this song is good though...

  • the cards are like an instrument.

  • he's probably from the electronic duo Matmos - they tend to discover catchy sounds in the most unexpected places. watch Bjork's Cocoon video - the one that's live from Royal Opera House, i think, and you'll see them rubbing each other's shirts and taking those crackling crumbly sounds into the music. i swear, it's sheer awesome, & it registers here too, if you listen close enough, there are whispers of the shuffle tucked into the folds of the song... very lovingly and wonderfully, at that

  • sembra il video del pippero

  • più umano più vero è un ballo sincero

  • geniale

  • The raw voices of the choir blends naturally to Bjork's style of singing.this is one live performance...

  • Umm the choir isn't supposed to be a church choir perfect. It's a tribal experience, it adds to the artistic beauty.

  • this was their first live performance on the tour

the choir could have practiced a bit more though!

an amazing performance none the less.

  • i love the transfer from the (whatever it's called) to the chorus. it's so cool

  • songs are prayers.

  • se ve hermosa con ese vestido!!!

  • the guy shuffling cards is M.C. Schmidt, and the guy on synths is Daniel Drew =)!

    this song is beautifull

  • I disagree

  • Oh wow... That was one brilliant thought. Thanks for sharing.

    Grow up.

  • I love how she explores everyday sounds and turns them amazing!! During one of her performances she had one guy walking in pebbles!! That's incredible!! Now this guy has to shuffle cards?! This woman is a genius!!!
