@TheShootTruth10 yeah... I do like those guys - but they give just a little to much press when ricky and randy did killer matches all through the 80's!! Another amazing match is Sgt Slaughter vs Iron Sheik Boot Camp Match. I think it was called! :) People need to look through the 80's more, they had some athletes. The problem was the Champion was Hogan so people instantly think of the top dog.
RIP Macho Man. Peeps, however, should also give Steamboat his due. There's more then one wrestler that could name off the best match of their careers with the dragon.
I also like the fact that there aren't any 12-15 years old IWC smarks on here talking about "Bring back WWF" lol, what do they know about "WWF"? There's far more to WWF then just the Attitude Era.
@LastHumansGarage when i first saw this match i was 18 years old a sr in highschool and i remember how the people i watched this with were so into the match that no one made a sound until steamboat won
@mvst925 - This wasn't Steamboat's original music at WMIII. The WWE changed the music for this video...probably because they didn't want to pay the royalty fees.
BTW...I was a sophomore in high school when this match took place. Still my favorite WrestleMania match of all time.
wow everything about the match was great, Macho man and ricky steamboat, gorilla monsoon and the brain the arm drags and old school wrestling and the intercontinental champion all in one of the greatest Wrestlemania matches of all time
There will never be a better announce than JR and King but I wish JR and Ventura could have worked together, Ventura was the best heel announcer ever. The King was good, but The Body was the best
@Yazloz18 Ventura really was the best heel announcer. What I like about him is that he even sometimes managed to be the more sensible of the announcers, because Monsoon quite frankly sometimes sounded like a complete hypocrite by hating on heels for using heel tactics but praising faces when they did a similar underhanded move (which was oddly common back then). And when Ventura called him out on his Bullshit he started making lame and far fetched excuses like Heel commentators usually do.
@Yazloz18 That's a tough call. I'm old school and loved Ventura and Monsoon. I do think JR is the best in the biz though. Monsoon and Heenan was also fantastic. Or Monsoon and Lord Alfred Hayes because Hayes was kind of apologetic of heels but didn't really care for their illegal shit. Hell, back in the day there wasn't a bigger face announcer than Mcmahon. Vince would get so excited for faces while Jesse basically told him he was an idiot. Obviously Vince was pimping the product but still.
@bossmann25 Agreed but to take it further when any Title meant shit, and not counting IC titles. John Cena having 12 World titles compared to Bret Harts 7, The Rocks 9, Austins 6, Takers 7, Foley 3, Rude 0, Hall/Razor 0...but this is probably for other reasons, HBK 4..that's a real joke, Benoit 4, Savage 6, etc is a fucking travesty. Cena couldn't hold any of these guys jocks and would've been a midcarder at best from '90-'04. Cena would've been the best damn Euro champ ever. Wait HHH won that
Ahhh, the WWF. Back when the other titles actually meant something. Back when it was actually fun to hate heels, and the faces were actually good. When there wasn't a huge repetitiveness of moves. Back when the heel commentator was actually good, and when people had cool gimmicks and had charisma.
@reverande180 guerrero and benoit over randy savage? lol. benoit is a murderer. he is not any better than casey anthony. casey anthony only was invovled in killing one kid, benoit killed a special needs child and his wife. I will also put mr. perfect ahead of benoit and guerrero.
@TheShootTruth10 It doesn't take away how great of a wrestler Benoit was no matter how heinous what he did was. His son wasn't special needs, so I don't know where you got that from and it doesn't make a difference ether because its still absolutely disgusting.
@Amoozza did you see the kid, he looked like a retarded dwarf. I cannot believe people still like this guy. casey anthony was a goood at sex should we still like her?
@TheShootTruth10 Shot him up with steroids? The fuck you talking about? Benoit choked him, that's it. Stop twisting the story. Also, Don't talk shit about Eddie Guerrero, he's on of the greatest of all time.
@ultragamer14 yes he did with growth hormones. the kid has needle marks. if you want to defend a murder that is fine but I suggest you make wrestling a hobby and not your whole life. eddier guererro is not even a top 20 wrestler. without eddie being a wreslter or benoit wrestling you have been the exact same. you act like these dudes are hogan flair and austin.
@TheShootTruth10 I'm not defending a murder, there is no excuse for what Benoit did, but Eddie was certainly a fantastic wrestler. And I'm not acting like Eddie's as big as Flair, Austin, or Hogan were, but Eddie and Benoit were among the biggest guys during the era between the Attitude Era and the one we have now.
@Amoozza Fuck benoit! He was a cowardly piece of shit. I don't care how good of a worker he might have been. Why would anyone have anything good to say about him? I would rather watch John Cena's worst matches than watch benoit's best ones.
@trekfanful For 20 years he put his body through hell to the point that his brain deteriorated to that of an 80 year old Alzheimer patient. Not saying that gives him a free pass, just pointing out a fact as I have no respect for Chris Benoit the person after what he did but I would like to remember Chris Benoit the wrestler and all the great matches he had.
@trekfanful I agree. charles manson made some good music also. who cares its charles manson. great thing about being looked up to by peopel who need you, when you do, do something wrong they stiil love you.
@trekfanful I'll say it again. After that cowardly act there should be no one who has anything good to say about him at all. I don't care about trying to remember him as the wrestler he was.I 'd rather not remember him at all.
@TheShootTruth10 It's too bad for guys like Triple H, Shawn Michaels, Kurt Angle, Chris Jericho, Steve Austin, Edge, Rey Mysterio, Raven, Shelton Benjamin, Kane, Christian , Dean Malenko and others who really had some great matches with him. Who really wants to see those matches now?
@trekfanful I dont want to watch another benoit match ever. I guess things go in order of progession. I dont understand how guys like edge, christian, the miz get titles.
@DanielIvanGianni 2 great performers putting on a great show using meat-and-potatoes wrestling moves and using great (and well thought out) ring psychology. With lesser talents, the sequence that Savage and Steamboat devised might not have been pulled off as well (Steamboat got HUGE pops with an arm drag takedown - would a contemporary crowd pop for an arm drag?). Both Savage and Steamboat (but especially Savage) were especially proud of this match and rightfully so.
@Duttel06 Morrison is good, I have no idea what you're talking about, he's one of the most talented guys from in WWE today, and this is coming from a guy who's been watching wrestling since 1983!
@Duttel06 Well, we can agree he's better than Cena! I'm not saying this match is bad though, it's a classic, and Morrison will likely never be in a match this good, but Morrison reminds me of a guy like a young HBK, and HBK did a lot of flashy moves, especially when he was in the Rockers.

@340bar some people need to quit being stuck in the past all the time. I see people making videos on "10 guys who deserved a title shot" "best fueds that never happen" "greatest......." however I do agree 100% with your comment.
This is one of the greatest matches ever. I always remember Wrestlemania III. I was 10 years old and remember all of the hype about The Hogan/Andre match and this match stole the show.
