Another amazing match is Sgt Slaughter vs Iron Sheik Boot Camp Match. I think it was called! :) People need to look through the 80's more, they had some athletes. The problem was the Champion was Hogan so people instantly think of the top dog.

He came out originally to "Sirius" by the Alan Parsons Project...which was also the common music for the Chicago Bulls starting in the mid 80's. The WWE changed the music for this video...probably because they didn't want to pay the royalty fees.

BTW...I was a sophomore in high school when this match took place. Still my favorite WrestleMania match of all time.

What I like about him is that he even sometimes managed to be the more sensible of the announcers, because Monsoon quite frankly sometimes sounded like a complete hypocrite by hating on heels for using heel tactics but praising faces when they did a similar underhanded move (which was oddly common back then). And when Ventura called him out on his Bullshit he started making lame and far fetched excuses like Heel commentators usually do.

@Yazloz18 That's a tough call. I'm old school and loved Ventura and Monsoon. I do think JR is the best in the biz though. Monsoon and Heenan was also fantastic. Or Monsoon and Lord Alfred Hayes because Hayes was kind of apologetic of heels but didn't really care for their illegal shit. Hell, back in the day there wasn't a bigger face announcer than Mcmahon. Vince would get so excited for faces while Jesse basically told him he was an idiot. Obviously Vince was pimping the product but still.

@DanielIvanGianni 2 great performers putting on a great show using meat-and-potatoes wrestling moves and using great (and well thought out) ring psychology. With lesser talents, the sequence that Savage and Steamboat devised might not have been pulled off as well (Steamboat got HUGE pops with an arm drag takedown - would a contemporary crowd pop for an arm drag?). Both Savage and Steamboat (but especially Savage) were especially proud of this match and rightfully so.

This is one of the greatest matches ever. I always remember Wrestlemania III. I was 10 years old and remember all of the hype about The Hogan/Andre match and this match stole the show.

Steamboat was one of my favorite wrestlers at the time, I was so happy he won the title. I taped this on a VHS tape, wish I knew what happened to that.
