They are listing this as a Canadian history moment when this took place in another country. Newfoundland was not part of Canada in 1901. Canada yet again belittles or out right steals other peoples achievements. This was a great newfoundland achievement, not a Canadian one

And the inventor Guglielmo Marconi was Italian, so it could be argued that Newfoundland was just a conveniant stage due to its location for an Italian invention, that had little to do with anyone who was actually from newfoundland
