As far as full metal helms are concerned, there is a reason the SCA only allows metal helms. When properly padded, full-metal protects better than any other type of helm. Dagorhir requires that metal helms be padded on the inside.

Dagorhir is a similar orginization, to this, however Dagorhir uses more realistic weapons (IMHO) and somewhat better padding. You are less liekly to be injured playing Dagorhir.

Technically Dag and Bele are the exact same, except for some minor differences. I play both. And the only reason they are different (IMHO) is that some stupid political crap happened, Bele is just the closest group that I can fight with.

1. Shield are well padded. And he used a punch shield which commonly mostly foam without a wood core like most strap shield. 2. There rule about shield bashing and kicking to prevent injury. Like 3.5.4.1-5 in the Book of War.

I'm not afraid of pain or injuries, i'm afraid of pointless brutality, which leads to pointless injuries. I don't think it's a sport, it's a perfect entertainment and hobby for all people in the first place, so sometimes it's not bad to be considerate.

I think, that there are some differences in rules. For example here in Czech republic we can't strike with our shields, when i see that skeleton (or something common) in this video striking down his opponent with his shield and then hiting him when he's lying, i'm just knocking my forehead. There is also some guy who is kicking to his opponent's shield, trying to uncover him, it's the same idiocy. It's not even honest.

The shields are extriemly padded as i said, also it's a part of tactic, when your opponent is prone it is much easier to get a solid strike and a point towards their death. I know the differences but that is merely how we play.

The guys in the skeleton masks are a very unhonorable unit, we will strike you while you are down or if you have your back turned. But that is one of the many persona's.

Personally, I think it is 'dishonorable' to give an opponent less of a fight than I can give them. If I can shield bash my opponent to the ground, I will. How else will they learn to defend against such an attack?

Yeah i know common LARP rules, but i know that even with padded weapon there could be a lot of pain when someone hits you too hardly...

but you shouldnt be in a sport that you dont want to get hurt in if theres a good chance that you know its going to happen, i love this sport and ive gotten my share of injuries, thats why i train with some people with wooden weapons so that they want to block and not get hurt, so if your afraid of getting hit with something that is just going to hurt and not kill you then you need get over it and not be a pussy

Nice but, guys in this video are really crazy, they fight very dangerously, they don't soften down their hits, they strike with their shields, that's not good.

It's fine, they're all padded so not too much pain happens. We have a set rule book so if a piece of our equipment does not co-insde with the rules, it doesnt pass and cant be used.
