I could lie outside on my back for hours into the night just staring at the stars with this song on repeat, especially out in the country on a mountaintop. Such a beautiful scene, such a beautiful song. It reminds me that though this world is filled with chaos and destruction, our God has put so much out there to remind us that He is there and that He is bigger than all our problems.
So...what i want to know...is why music on youtube has to provoke so much arguing. Really? Why cant people just accept that no one can convince anyone else of what is the right thing to believe. Everyone will come to find what they truly believe at some point in their lives, and what others say will not matter in their decision, So why bother arguing? It is just childish. Let it go.

Respect the fact that not everyone thinks there is a god, and that even those who do think there's a god, it might not be yours. @lunaelarvae, Correction: "God is children's blankets that get carried over into adulthood." I think you misinterpreted this...It simply means God is the blanket of the children. He protects them. The children keep faith during and after they become adults.
@mslovefool21 no, it's definitely you who misinterpreted it. a child's blanket is something that a child carries onto because it gives them a sense of security. for instance when they're scared, they cling onto it. of course it doesn't actually do anything, it just makes them feel better/safer etc.

@lunaelarvae, Correction: "God is children's blankets that get carried over into adulthood." I think you misinterpreted this...It simply means God is the blanket of the children. He protects them. The children keep faith during and after they become adults.

@mslovefool21 no, it's definitely you who misinterpreted it. a child's blanket is something that a child carries onto because it gives them a sense of security. for instance when they're scared, they cling onto it. of course it doesn't actually do anything, it just makes them feel better/safer etc.

No i'm not saying that Christianity got it right because that causes pride and pride is the downfall of everybody. God doesn't endorse rape and all that He just lets it happen. those people sin, we all do. That's why Jesus had to die for us. He was the last and ultimate sacrifice.

@wehurtthosewelove i've never been anything but calm, but as a general note when communicating with people, saying things like that is what irritates them.
i think the better question is: why do you believe in god? i don't because it is completely illogical, and i am logical person. i don't because there is not even a shred of evidence. not the slightest thing suggesting it's even a possibility.
i don't actually care to hear your answer, but if it were me that would be something to think about.

@lunaelarvae well then i'm assuming you believe in the big bang well answer me this, someone that is very logical how do you put something up to chance and some equation. now i like to think of myself as a logical person. obviously i can't convert you over youtube, but i look at it this way, a painting proves there is a painter, a building an architect, a song a songwriter, so a universe must prove there is a creator. i believe that creator is God but i have reasons for it being him

@dragoonGXT I look at them every night and nothing about their beauty tells my mind that they were created by a single entity that sounds like something out of a fairy tale.
The people who don't understand are the religious ones, my young friend. The people who don't understand how the universe works and instead of dealing with that ignorance or learning more about it they resort to telling themselves it's all magic.

If God exists what makes you think he would create an entire universe of uninhabitable planets and gases just so he could so carefully place Earth here like you say? Try explaining THAT to me. Theres alot of stuff about this group and song thats untrue. This is The Jon Foreman Meaning- Stars" is about perspective, a song about stepping back in the midst of chaos and looking at the stars; the idea of anti-entropy, implying there must be something keeping the world together. The second verse talks about our world from the perspective of the stars looking down on earth from the eternal dance of gravity and motion.
