Both DU and the ore are, of course, much more weakly radioactive than U-235. However, many independent studies have shown that when DU dust is inhaled and builds up in the body it can cause genetic mutations and consequent birth defects.

Screw everyone that thinks this is cruel. If this was American kids people would laugh. Bored servicemembers having some fun with the local population... I don't find this remotely offensive.

We need to focus more attention on the guys that are doing violent/criminal things to Iraqis (who we prosecute)... a couple bored infantrymen out on patrol doesn't even blip my radar.
