Dit is wel de baan Aarschot richting Herselt-Westerlo als je aan dat tankstation inslaat rij je richtin de Millenium (Discotheek)

Must be confusing sometimes, luckily our system is well thought out. Less complicated than the British one for example since it was designed with simplicity in mind.

AH! Vroeger lag er ook zo'n strontbaan van Ardooie naar Izegem deze is gelukkig net vervangen maar een redelijk groot deel de N37 en de zijbaantjes voor de industrie is ook nog van beton. Das echt zo saai en hatelijk voor op te rijden en de fietspaden erbij zijn nog slechter..

Ja, West-Vlaanderen staat bekent voor zijn slechte (beton) -wegen. In de streek is dit stuk van de N19 één van de laatste van zijn soort (generatie jaren 40-50)

I only knew of one experimental stretch of concrete road about 3km long in Europe from England to Austria 30 years ago and it was in Holland on the A28 south bound between Nunspeet and Harderwijk. I wonder if its still there.

Time looks as if it hasn't changed this part of Limburg except for the road, which appears to be a bit wider with more cars, trucks and a few billboards and thats something I never saw before.

Actually Belgium completely embraced concrete in the past, even better, Belgian engineers went to the US in the 50's to see how things were handled over there.

There's still alot of concrete in Belgium, most of it was built as it was a custom in the US in the 50's. Individual concrete plates. Alot these roads are 5O years or older.

That is a big change!

Over the years we drove from Ostende to Maasek and from Kaulille to Mons often and I never once saw a concrete slab.

Driving was also our pastime because we had never seen so many historic sites.

I tell you Europe is awesome!

N73 between Hechtel-Eksel and Leopoldsburg is also such a concrete road, as is the N67 Eupen - Monschau (a.k.a. Highway to Hell).
