Hakkinen def wasnt ready for that. He even said, he blamed himself for this years later. You can also see it by his reaction afterwards. Mika is one of those drivers that owns up to his own mistakes and doesn't cry to the press about it. This is what I always liked about him. Schumacher did the normal thing...any decent driver changes line to defend plus he only moved once...Hakkinen's fault he didnt see it coming (race incident) and im actually impressed the way schumi kept on going loool
He didn't just cut across but he also brake tested him. No right minded driver intentionally runs in to the back of another. Especially when your feet are just behind the nose cone.
Schu didn't brake test Hakkinen. He made a mistake coming out of the corner and thus was slow coming onto the straight. This was the second race and all Hakkinen had to do was to finish 2.5 seconds behind Schumacher to win the GP overall. Schumacher moved to block and the speed differential was just too much. In fact, if you look closely, Schumacher defended a split second before Hakkinen made his jink. Hakkinen himself has admitted that it was a mistake in retrospect to go for it.

its a common fact unfortunately, trackion control for a start and the illegal fuel rig they used for the first half of the season. basically the rig they used didnt have an activated safety cap which meant it poured in more fuel quicker but was illegal. there's youtube footage of benneton using the fuel rig to overtake senna at the pitstops in brazil 94; they enter the pits at the same time with senna about 3 seconds ahead and schumacher has a 6s pitstop and comes out ahead with more fuel..
Schumacher was never 2 seconds faster than Rubens. They drove equal equipment, michael is just far quicker. That said, there were times where Rubens was quicker than michael, he just didn't show it enough.
If you want proof of how much quicker Michael was than Rubens just look at how many points they both got in 2005 when the car was dreadful.

i don't think so, Mika get the air stream from Schumi, and the distance between two cars are very close, These cars have to be very close to get good air stream, Mika made the move, Schumi blocks him, and mike front wrong touches rear wheel of schumi. I know this circuit pretty well, that long straight is very good in passing, many people getting passed in this straight. The crash is heavy because the front wing touched the rear wheel
watch the onboard video from mika's car. gives you the right perspective. mika thought he could get the pass-looks like michael slightly drove into him- not a total ram as in other cases. looks like mika had legitimate gap,no?

its actually true, schumacher break tested hakkinen here, which means that he was breaking at the moment hakkinen was just behind him for the best slipstreaming. he has done this on numerous of different f1 drivers aswell..

its a common fact unfortunately, trackion control for a start and the illegal fuel rig they used for the first half of the season. basically the rig they used didnt have an activated safety cap which meant it poured in more fuel quicker but was illegal. there's youtube footage of benneton using the fuel rig to overtake senna at the pitstops in brazil 94; they enter the pits at the same time with senna about 3 seconds ahead and schumacher has a 6s pitstop and comes out ahead with more fuel..

Schumacher was never 2 seconds faster than Rubens. They drove equal equipment, michael is just far quicker. That said, there were times where Rubens was quicker than michael, he just didn't show it enough.
If you want proof of how much quicker Michael was than Rubens just look at how many points they both got in 2005 when the car was dreadful.

i don't think so, Mika get the air stream from Schumi, and the distance between two cars are very close, These cars have to be very close to get good air stream, Mika made the move, Schumi blocks him, and mike front wrong touches rear wheel of schumi. I know this circuit pretty well, that long straight is very good in passing, many people getting passed in this straight. The crash is heavy because the front wing touched the rear wheel

watch the onboard video from mika's car. gives you the right perspective. mika thought he could get the pass-looks like michael slightly drove into him- not a total ram as in other cases. looks like mika had legitimate gap,no?

Schumacher at his "art". This was by NO means a racing accident. This was Mr Idiot doing what he does best - cheating. He let Hakkinen get close enough to start an ordinary overtaking manoeuvre/maneuver and then he ran right INTO him. He did not just block him (one of his "secret" recipes), he simply tried to intimidate him, which got out of Mr Cheater's hand. He did the same to him e.g. in Spa 2000. This video shows that MS has NEVER been F1 material.

@DannyBoySmith1993 No, he won some of them properly (although mostly in a dominant car with a weak or CONTRACTUALLY inferior team mate). But even he does not see himself as the best ever. These days, he's OK in my view. He actually matured mentally around 2002. In my opinion he's one of 10 best drivers ever on a dry track and 2nd best on a wet track, just after Senna. Or he used to be, when he was younger - we'll see in another car next year. So, I am no blind hater, I am just being realistic...
