I've had this plane new since January 2010. I absolutly love it. In learning the plane I have a couple of hard landings and it is very robust. I have switched to the carbon setup and its as though I have purchased a new plane. it flies a hundred times better. The extra pound of weight I took off made a huge difference.
On a scale of 1 to ten, I would give it an 8, with carbon setup 9. (1 bad 10 great)
@stepsez Yes, The wheel pants are .25 pounds, carbon setup both wing and stab tube, .3 pounds, landing gear another .25 and I went to a smaller fuel tank saved .25 threr as well. I weighed and compared al and carbon each on a cold cut scale. So I saved a solid pound give or take.
Flies beautiful, love the Aeroworks stuff. Also, flying 100cc extra from Aeroworks.
on a scale from 1 to 10 how well does this airplane fly. right now i am flying a great planes extra 300 sp an i want to upgrade to the bigger airplanes. and what servos are you using, and do you have a choke servo.
@thewarbirdlover1 Precision wise it's a great plane and will take you through the lower levels of IMAC fine. 3Dwise it's also a great plane, locks into HAKE and tubles well. It does take a bit to get used to in a harrier, it has a bit of wing rock but once you find the sweet spot that goes away.
Servos I am using 8711s because I had them, 7955s will be fine. No choke servo.
what other airplanes are there because im fifteen and i dont have a job, want a giant scale airplane, and dont want to get ripped off and waste my money.
check out the extreme flight extra 300 50cc. its the best 50cc on the market. (lots can agree) its the lightest. also pilot rc makes some good stuff as well. aero works has really nice ktis they go together well. pretty easy stuff. but a little heavier. but aero works fly pretty nice. cant go wrong with either of the 3 i said.
@thewarbirdlover1 My advice is to not jump into giant scale if you dont have enough money to replace the plane if you go down. Aeroworks is top of the line and expensive you can find decent cheaper planes. Stay away from nitro planes and China models poor quality. Have fun and good luck
I was leaning toward the 3D Hobby Shop Extra 300 SHP 87" 50cc. If you don't like this aeroworks Extra, what do you recommend? I've heard rave reviews of the 3D Hobby Shop, I'm about to drop some major cash. Please give me your insights. Also, the EG Aircraft MX-2 50cc looks good. Extreme Flight is sold out.
I ordered the 300 in yellow like yours ,I have everything including the DA 50 and a sullivan can, sounds great, do I need the tuned pipe to get your kind of power or are you just stock w/ a can?? Nice Flying Seth..........
nice. i like that plane. i am kinda torn between that one and the 20-300 they have. have you flown that bipe?
i have their yak with a ys 110S on it. haven't flown it yet. but i'm going to get one of their 50cc's before next spring. any feedback you can give me on that it would be appreciated.
i'm going to be using the Spektrum 7 radio. and probably the DLE 55 for power.
yeah. i'm starting to like that plane more. i have flown since i was four and i'm thirty-three. i just haven't really flown anything bigger than a 1/5 scale cub. the one ultimate i've liked that flew well is the goldberg ultimate.
try doing them very slowly in a semi stalled postiion. you learn quicker if do them slowly. ur brain knows where to point the sticks at what rotation the plane is in. do it up higher first. and it also helps if u have a rate that has limited aileron throw so u can just have the right stick fully over and just focus on evevator and rudder in put. have rud and evl on high rates. try that. might help a bit if u havent all ready learnt
Just curious as to what this plane weighed at the time of this video?
I have the red/blk scheme of this plane, and love it, but its heavy... 18lbs + (box stock)
thanks for any info.

Thanks.
I am just using a stock pitts style muffler from J'Tec, more than enough power for anything you want to.

No I haven't flown the bipe, I am more of an Extra fan though.

Yes I did some basic mixing, I believe 6% on rudder to el. and 2% rudder to aileron.
As for expo I typically use 30% on low rates and 60-65% on high rates depending on the surface.

Nice flying Jake , Ive been trying to do those rolling turns and just in a straight line too but I just cant seem to get it yet..
Any pointers to start from ?? Good job.....Seth....
