@ImRatherTall - bouncy wasnt the word for it, changed the shock absorbers since this vid was made, and its not much better. The joys of heavy leaf springs eh!
They're quite a rarity these days, brigades arent getting rid of their older motors due to tighter budgets. I am selling two of my ones (the 1978 amd 1979 ones) as I am trying to concentrate on the one vehicle so if your interested, send me a message
The allison MT643 works just like the at545

@jaggass yes pretty much the same workings except the MT-643 is a much much heavier gearbox!

@markthebusman
Also, the MT643 (and prior MT640) also make use of a locking torque converter for better fuel economy.

Yeah she's a flying machine, the massive power from that 11 litre Perkins V8 makes this one powerful beast of a machine!
markthebusman 2 years ago
That said, she doesn't have the distinctive deep rumble of a V8.
Nevertheless, hope she and the KC (which I'm making for that game by the way) stay in operation for a long time.

Yes you cant really hear the V8 rumble inside the cab, but trust me you'd heard it outside, and you'd certainly hear this baby coming up the road!!
