more filtration is a must with goldfish tank was fine for your two even another but lots of filtration for goldfish if you would of you would of had them longer there is know reason any goldfish with good to great care shouldn't live past 15 years goldfish keeping for 15 years and i have a shibunkis that is over 20
This tank is not too small! The rule is 10 gallon's per goldfish is good enough for them. therefore if there's two in the tank....and its 20 gallons its fine! Dont mean to get technical but you can hardly say this is too small.
Just get rid of the rock at the bottom next time, it stores all the ammonia and it probably spiked. Check out my video kelly's goldfish my tank is a 20 gal long and they are doing fine, it's even overcrowded.
i have a black moor too and how long did it take for it to grow that big i have one black moor in a 10g and i bought him a week ago and he is only 1 or 2 inches how long does it take them to grow that big and any tips on making them grow faster would be nice
@ElizabethDee16 if u want them to grow faster get a bigger tank i have a 55 with two filters and do regular water maintanance and keep it clean then in about a year it will be like 4-5 inches by then hope this helps and it's always not bad to have too much filtration the more the better =))))))))) i love goldfish i have 11!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@xhopkinslax9 hmm... my dad doesn't want me to, but ill save up for it.... would a 30-60 gallon be ok? o and btw i just got it tested, and he said im over feeding them, i only do it twice a day like the fish food told me to
nice fish and tank! that pleco youve got in there how old is he? coz i got a pleco last week and im realy hoping he doesnt outgrow my 12gallon tank coz i heard they grow realy big! the man in the shop said he shouldnt grow too big... also how long did it take for your pleco to eat? i feed mine pellets but he doesnt seem interested and my goldfish just eat it :P also did your pleco bully your goldfish? :B
i used to have 3 fancy goldfish in my 20 gallon. i think putting the 3rd one in there was pushing it but they did fine. i put some black mystery snails in the tank cus of the algae build up and the guy at the store said it would be fine but a couple days after putting them in there i found empty snail shells. now i do my own research before i go to the pet store.
@notreallyfamous I pretty much just fed them. The whole overfeeding thing is a load of crap, some people give their fish like 2 pellets per day. Give them what you see they can eat in 2 minutes. Then a snack or two throughout the day doesnt hurt
I've had my fantail a year, I feed her as much as I can healthily. I give her 5 sinking pellets every 12 hours, presoaked and all. If I give her more than that she floats, but she wont get fat! (She was fatter when I bought her, I feel like I'm doing something wrong)
Yeah - 20 Gallon Longs are actually really great tanks since they BASICALLY are like 30 gallons (they are the same length, just 6 inches shorter), but most (MOST) fish dont swim at the very top to begin with and enjoy swimming distances instead
@polevaulter6916 - Did you cycle your aquarium? It takes about 10 weeks for an aquarium to fully cycle under best (warm) conditions and up to 3 months if your place is an icebox.
Wow. I hope you know plecos get to be 1.5 feet and need a bare minimum of 55 gallons (100 would be better) all to themselves. Otherwise, you're just asking to give your fish an early funeral.
You are wrong. Most people who do shit like this just let their fish die early and don't give a shit about their needs because they follow made-up rules about the amount of gallons a fish needs based on how long the damn thing is or some stupid shit. Stop being a douche bag.
Fish used to be kept in bowls, the tank in this video is pure luxury compared to that, stop bitching you faggot, people can do what the fuck they want with their pets, and as I said before, goldfish can't feel pain.
In my twenty long I have four feeders I won at festivals years ago and the two largest are about seven inches the other two are about 5 inches. What I do for the poop problem is I have an under gravel filter and a aqua clear 30. In my ten gallon I have 2 callico fan tails and 1 redcap oranda, I also had a small pleco in there two but he died (see comment on top of page), and I have on internal filter and one aqua clear twenty.
sorry i just saw this. mine have been in a 20 gallon for about 6 months and theyll remain in there until i can find a cheap 30 gallon. If you only get 1 or 2 goldfish they can live their whole life in a 20 gallon, but make sure its a 20 long like i have instead of a 20 standard, which suck compare to thsese.
yes a 10 gallon is good to start out with then when ur fish get bigger you'll probably have to buy a bigger tank unless u buy mollies or guppies just to name a few
@roosterrocks yes and you can have more then 1 in the tank. My 3 year old daughter is starting out with a 10gallon with 4 comets gold fish. 2 lg and 2 small. and before anybody starts to tell me that it is to small, I asked the pets mart lady and she saif that it is FINE but that she suggested if I was to get any Bigger fish to up grad to a 15 or 20 galon. and i have a very strong filter on it.
very cute! I wanted a long one but I got the tall one cause it was the only one that would come in the set. your fish are a good size! Did they get any bigger since this video?
no it truly isnt. I did however install the filter literally an hour before the video, and the new gravel was new as well, its top notch now, it was just cycling. good points though, thanks for concern
Another concern I have is the tank size, all of the fish you have in there are heavy polluters. If you don't already know this goldfish can get huge, sometimes even up to a foot. Plecos also get large often over a foot if food and space permits.
If you want all of your fish to have a long and happy life I would really suggest in getting a larger tank for all of them. If you think the crapping problem is huge now, just wait until they get larger.
ooooh yeah my goldfish are both almost 7 inches now, im lookin intoa a 29 galloon since its like 4 - 5 inches taller and the same length cuz mine is a 20 long.
I have a question about plecos I had one that I had for four months he seemed health then I got some new plants and he was fin for about a week and a half. I turn around and hes on the glass like plecos generally are I turn around again five minutes later and hes on his back in the gravel dead. What did I do wrong.
you did nothing wrong. you cant even tell when plecos are sick becuase there arent typical symptoms like other fish. its not like they can be sick if theyre near the bottom of the tank on the floor cuz they always are. shit happens man. sorry

Yes, but thats boring as shit. lol. Get 2 black moors and put them in a 20 Long. or 2 smaller fish for a 10 gallon. 1 fish is never fun.
