  • Hi, i have come across a problem in a june 2001 s1 paper.

The continuous random variable Y is normally distributed with the mean 100 and variance 256.

    (a) Find P(Y-80)

    (b) find k such that P(100-k (- or =)Y(- or =) 100+k)

i can do part (a), but i have never seen a question like (b) would u be able to help?

  • @rudezartist Yes - check out my tutorials and past paper worked solutions. There is a similar question on one of the papers I have done.

  • I don't think anyone else could make it look more clear and simple.

    Thanks man :D

  • @SlashGnR09 Thanks for the complement.

  • It blows my mid how easy you make something look in just over 8 minutes, when my teacher couldn't do it over a few lessons, no matter how many notes I took down or how well I paid attention.

    :D

  • @AtoZyzzyva Oh well, at least you have it now. Well done.

  • Is this the same for probability for less and equal? P(x <= 511)? Thank you

  • @taokanmi Yes

  • all so clear now, thanks

  • @01cloudwalker Pleasure

  • Thank You

  • @SciFaiz No probs.
