How does what I wrote reflect a distance from "live and let live?" I would say that those who blow up other people's things aren't letting live, though. And you may have noticed that I wrote "... IF he/she is so easily threatened..." It was also a "spiritual question. If it is not the case that they felt threatened, so be it. Perhaps there is another reason for the action. Anyone tell me what the difference is between worshiping the Bamiyan Buddist statues and the Kaaba (meteorite) rock in Mecca? Actually no I didn’t forget the Soviets or anything else. We are talking about why the Buddhist Statues were blown up. As I said, it was done out of spite, blowing them up achieved what exactly? Nothing! Do the Afghanistan ppl now live better lives because of it? Do they have more food or medicines because of it? Has this changed the past?

The events which 'started' all this are the increasingly radical preaching of Islam, especially out of Saudi Arabia and Pakistan, supported by the massive amount of oil money now available in the Middle East. Until this radical preaching is stopped, and the madrasas in Pakistan are dismantled, there will be increasing friction between Islam and all other religions. Islam cannot 'take over the world and convert everyone", nor can Buddhism, Christianity or any other religion. This has to stop

How does what I wrote reflect a distance from "live and let live?" I would say that those who blow up other people's things aren't letting live, though. And you may have noticed that I wrote "... IF he/she is so easily threatened..." It was also a "spiritual question. If it is not the case that they felt threatened, so be it. Perhaps there is another reason for the action. The question had to with the debate in that it questioned the reason for action being discussed.

They were the ones who explored the history of the Alexandrian connection to the Buddhist culture. It was the years of occupation by muslims who shot holes in the surrounding artwork. The story about the food versus sculpture is an obvious red herring. The Taliban and the Muslim religious bigotry are to blame in full.

The blowing up was done to assert taliban's authority over the minority Hazara people who were forced to convert to islam and treated as slaves by racist islam.
