Is that a maple you built it around? I would not trust an oak.Almost all oaks in my neck of the woods are hollow and probably would not hold up long. I live in wa. state and the ticks just love the oaks.

im gonna build a treehouse some day and play airsoft with my friends with it, i have my plan laid out, im gonna use a large tree as the main pillar and suspent the deck using a few cables and pressure treated wooden posts, im gonna make it completely water resistant like a real house and make it capable of withstanding a reasonable ammount of weight. im gonna finish it with a coat of varnish and im also gonna go with a japanese look, wide windows and what not.

thanks its been up for a year now had to tighten the cables up and add 2+10 joist under the tree house sistered on to the old ones, other than that tree house is standing strong.
