It's magic in the sense that if you were to hand a newbie who had no idea how to solve the cube but had relatively good spatial perception, they would probably think of the way described in video 4, not this one.

Around 1:40 you mentioned that the sequence I gave was a commutator. Is it really? I never thought of it that way, but you might be right (you seem to be better at group theory ;P).
If you watch the corner edge pairs moving around, you can actually see how the sequence works... so it's not totally "magic", I'd say.
