My stupid neighbour is too lazy to cut down branches in font of his house, and every time when strong wind is blowing, we got almost the same scene(not this big). the problem is because of that, the lights are flickering, sometimes cant even turn on my pc, annoying

Nothing can compare to actually being there and hearing/seeing a phase-to-ground fault. It's like a canon going off. I'm really surprised that it didn't trip the fuse on the line. Nice vid!

I work fo Asplundh and am a powerline tree trimmer and was before that a timmer in Pacific NW WA state and before that was a power line worker in Los ANgeles CA. I have much experience working in on and around this type of situations. Thanks for the post. I will add one thing, When the power ines actually touch together the arc and the noise is greater and defeaning, and the bright light is brighter than even this. WHen there is a cross phase it is much worse than this.

well i wouldnt really call it an explosion but its a big output of electricity causing a huge flame to expel from the burning branch. but that's too long for the title :P
