b. Israel tries to get at Hamas rocketeers & hits civilians by accident; Hamas tries to murder Israeli civilians.
I would suggest alot of aid put into Palestine before the next attack on them, because after the dust settles, there will be more attacks on the civilians there. These people (Governments) are put into power by us, the people of the world. They should listen to the voice of their people when they're protesting, especially on such a global scale and not the rattle in their pockets. The world is watching. All they need to do is recognize Israel's right to exist and to quit attacking Israel and the whole International community would be willing to put more pressure on Israel. True, Palestine as an actual nation never existed, but the Palestinian people were there for thousands of years. The Jewish people were there too, but they dispersed all over Roman Europe during the Jewish diaspora, but the people who remained in Judea eventually converted to Islam when it became prominent in the Middle East. You're right, but the issue is this: the Jewish people left Judea for Europe (the diaspora started after the Romans destroyed Jerusalem in 70 CE). When WWII ended, there was a massive migration to the newly founded Israel.
But the problem was that there were already people there. And the Israelis came without their consent and shoved them aside, and didn't give them any kind of political representation.
I'm not talking about fulfilling scripture here, I'm talking about common human decency.

Israel was right to defend itself from Hamas, but it is appalling to read that "the number of Palestinian casualties stands at 971 killed, of whom 311 are children and 76 women, and 4,418 wounded, of whom 1,549 are children and 652 are women" in Gaza as of January 14, 2009.
Israel justification of this conflict became void with the fist casualties of innocent Palestinian civilians with their war with Hamas.

The statistics are clear and even the mainstream media has mentioned it a time or three so I don't know why you still persist in your ignorance. As well, the quality of life in Iraq was WAY higher under Saddam. Iraq used to be a fairly safe place where you just couldn't dissent, now it's a warzone.
