Mr. Faze, if you noticed, Whitney would sing her own songs the same exact way. Just because it sounds one way on CD doesn't mean it has to sound the same that day in concert. The singer has the right to change her pitch at any time. BTW, sound has nothing to do with skin color.

The FACT that NO ONE seemed to Mention that Monica's Intonation was Utterly OFF during this performance lets me know, that all of you listeners are TONE DEAF! ...Black ppl need to STOP equating LOUDNESS, High Notes, and A Bunch of EXTRA SINGING as TALENT! @MsJadaTV--The class system that Diana Ross, Lena Horne and Whitney Houston are in does not include performers like Aretha. These artists are chosen by their labels as marquee artists. Diva extraordinaires that are talented, beautiful and glamourous. Berry Gordy referred to the torch being passed from Lena Horne to Diana Ross back in the 70s and people spoke about that platform being yielded to Whitney by Diana in the 90s. This is not about singing only, but an image for hollywood.

@DriveAustra My bad. I totally understand that aspect. To me, Aretha is a bigger diva than Diana. Diana is extremely glamorous (more than Aretha actually) but Aretha is just such a prima donna (in my opinion). Diana and Lena, they represented women of class. Aretha and Patti were DIVAS. I think Whitney was just the perfect cross between them. The beauty and class of Lena, glamor of Diana, and characteristics and talent of Aretha

Monica is the heir to the Whitney Houston throne. When Whitney is ready, she will pass the torch the way Diana Ross relinquished the throne to Whitney back in the early 1990s. Monica deserves it. Brandy was in the running, but she sorta fell off the Diva list because she doesn't do big ballads anymore.

@DriveAustra Diana Ross didn't pass anything to Whitney! Whitney was compared to Aretha, that's where the torch came from. Diana barely can sing. Aretha, Whitney, Celine, Brandy, and Beyonce are the best female voices in mainstream music, with WHITNEY & ARETHA leading the pack by many miles, but the others are good too
