I saw the Gremlin with the jeans interior that they made for this ad sell on Ebay a few years ago. I wanted it so bad. These were awesome commercials.
That diner is the famous JOHNY'S BROILER of Downey, CA. Was used in various music videos and major motion picture films. It was recently torn down by "accident" from it's previous owner. Half way through demo the city stoped the demo crew and later deemed the diner a historical land mark after a multi million dollar law suit. The owners had no rights or PERMITS to demo the property. Ouch! It will be back up again shortly in 2009 under it's new name BOB'S BIG BOY! ...and now you know. :)
