We spent 40 or so millions on investigating made up bull shit about Clinton and, as I can recall, only 1 spent time for contempt. One blow job scandal that resulted in impeachment, and these stupid americans obsesses about matters that are not even those of state, but try to white wash the ginormous fucks ups of the bush administration starting with his appointment by the sup. ct. In exchange, just for starters we lost almost all allies. Blow job vs. outing a CIA agent.
how is killing people in iraq and afghanistan going to make america safer and give americans freedom ? and ask yourselves WHO has actually taken the freedoms away from the american people ?and who is making them fight for thier lives to regain the freedom they were born with ..i think you'll find the answer is the same for both questions
If the small "Letterman is anti-peace" tag appearing on the bottom of the screen at the 3-minute mark isn't fascist enough, the muting of the last few minutes of the interview should seal in the stenched flavor.
Life all over the world has changed for the worse because of this administration. Gas prices, mortgage crisis, inflation, death, murder, loss of rights...we don't have a government we have evil corporate monkeys a.k.a. politicians. Both parties suck. Like Noam Chomsky says, "we are a one business party state with two factions" Shame on American state policy for the suffering they cause the world so a very few can prosper. Its time this horror show is stopped. It's time for a peoples' revolution.
The purpose of the U.S. government is to protect Americans from physical attack. It is not to attempt to make a better world. Bush let his do-gooder side come out and that is exactly where he went wrong as he tried to make the Middle East a peaceful place.
Now I understand why Bush got elected. You really are naive. Bush invaded Iraq to control the oil. The oil is the biggest prize in the world. You control that you control the world. Its not even Bush's idea. It's a neo-conservative plan. He's just following orders. If the government really wanted to protect the people it wouldn't create hatred in other countries by toppling democratically elected gov'ts and installing brutal dictators. The shaw of Iran for example.
I agree that oil is part of the motivation. I do not think it provides a complete picture of neo-con's motives. A big part of attacking Iraq, I believe, has to do with reconfiguring the Middle East to set up a democratic/capitalist model for other Islamic countries to emulate. The goal is to induce them to focus on money and to not take their religion so seriously. That, according to the neo-con's theory, would defuse Muslims' hatred of Israel. I agree that the Iraq invasion was a mistake.
Yes, he has a First Amendment right to say what he thinks. That does not mean that the content of what he says is correct. I do think it is troublesome that people impugn the motives of their political adversaries simply because they disagree with them.
Correct? I didn't think that mattered anymore (swift boat, Obama a muslim, etc)... The Republican propoganda machine has been in full force for years and you are worried about something David Letterman says? I guess there is a different set of rules for each side.

While Scott McClellan raises some legitimate criticisms of President Bush, David Letterman is out of bounds in calling the motives of Bush and Vice-President Cheney into question. I think McClellan is right that the neo-cons advising Bush wanted to invade Iraq to reconfigure the Middle East. I suspect that Bush lied about his real motives about attacking Iraq. Even though Bush was misguided, he honestly thought that he was doing the right thing as were the neo-cons. Letterman is wrong to smear.
Wow, my classmate from 1st grade got to be WHPS. But his mother was also mayor of Austin and Texas comptroll

Historians should not let the Valerie Plame Wilson affair die because it is emblematic of the abuse of power of the first Mush administration.

Well, the FCC can regulate expression but not point of view content. You cannot legally say what you just said on American over the air TV or radio.

I hope not, that book is full of errors like claiming that Friedman worked as an adviser to the Chilean dictator when he only met him for 45 minutes.
