  • When does the 2012 model come out?

  • @SMESH012 april

  • Iol, i want to downgrade to snow leopard :(

  • sorry..i couldnt see how fast that was...my NEW PC is already lagging videos two days after i bought it.

  • i got a macbook with a core2duo and it runs final cut, aperture, and motion at the same time.. its pretty boss.. i got my mom the one with the core I7.. thing does blender renders like no other

  • how much did you buy this?

  • waste of money and I'm glad i got one even better than that and it was MUCH cheaper. :)

  • ....you must have had an e-machine before this didn't you

  • I just bought a Sony for the wife. 15.6 inch. a REAL FULL size keyboard (with numberpad), Just as fast as this computer. FULL HD resolution (you can have 2 word documents side by side at 100%), it's awesome for work. Superb buid quality. Runs super cool and silent. and it has PORTS! Usable ones. Like USB 3.0 and HDMI. Price? MUCH less than this POS.

It also has a DEDICATED video card, not the crap intel HD 3000 like this Macbook. Again, the only thing that's insane here is buying this crap.

  • @ajarnCarlosVega

Studies show that everyone who bitches about how "crappy" Apple products are, but yet still watch videos, are the people who are jealous punks who are too broke to afford one. Get a life please.

  • @shynobi327 not to broke, but to smart to pay twice as much for the same hardware. these mac book pro have crappy i5 cpu and only 4 gig of ram for like $1400. can get the same pc for half as much.

  • @1spoon1fork yes you can and do the benchmarks and you will see the mac will outperform the pc!

  • After all the fanboys kicking and screaming my original question remains unanswered. How is this "insanely fast"? How is playing with OSX eye candy telling me this is "insanely fast"? Why don't you run a benchmark against, say, an equally priced VAIO and see how insanely fast this really is.

  • @BMAnnarbor

Yea. I did it on my $800 ASUS and it ran fast no problems either.

  • yea because its new..do that for a long time and u will see great results lol

  • I just tried that and it worked. It still ran really fast considering I have about 45 different things in my dock and about five of them are professional softwares using a lot of RAM lol :P

  • i half want to get one and half don't like the fact im paying twice as much for the "oooh look a mac" factor.

  • @CanadianPatriot86 Specs wise, you can get a much better computer for much less. However, Macs tend to last longer.

  • its not THAT fast

  • @emokidrell It is I just tried it on mine. I opened everything in my dock (about 45 things half of them used a lot of RAM because they are professional) and it still ran fast :P

  • than bought a week ago the 15 inch model with the quad-core 2,2 ghz processor :)

and is is crazy this speed :)

  • This is crazy fast, made me want a macbook more and more, I HAVE TO HAVE ONE!!

  • @pouyapow you just jelly man, if you think the vid is stupid, then why did you watch it, stupid. LOL.

  • @TimothiusMartin well what i dont like is it is insanely HEAVY!, but its worth the speed.

  • @TheMewto10 That may be true, but Snow Leopard is much faster and stable than Lion. And Lion is pretty fast

  • 1 question. Snow Leopard or Lion?

  • @SabooZX Got a question, any computer for over >1k is going to be super fast.

  • Comment removed

  • im watching this on one

  • HOLY BUTT FU(*& im going to buy one now.

  • Dude, this should be a commercial, lol! The first song was so perfect for what you were doin in the video.

  • Yeah, its fast because you're running OS X Snow Leopard. OS X Lion unfortunately is not as fast :(

  • my 15" is faster

  • does this video display multi-tasking or fast drive reads (likely a credit to an SSD or 7200rpm drive)? I don't think you know what multi-tasking is. You're embarrassing Mac users.

  • @ragnarocking he has the standard 5600 rpm HDD in there. And how is he embarrassing Mac users? Is he doing it by NOT having multiple strenuous tasks run while he's browsing the internet? (I just want to know.)

  • What are the specs on the MacBook Pro?

  • now try to open the whole adobe suite and play starcraft and wow at the same time.

  • @clarence569 Is there ANY laptop that has a 2.3GHz i5 Sandy Bridge processor, 4GB of RAM, and a 320 GB HDD that can do all that SMOOTHLY with no discrete graphics card?

  • Here’s to the simple, yet undeniable TRUTH:

As SJ said "simplicity is the ULTIMATE sophistication":

APPLE'S INSANELY GREAT QUALITY TRUMPS PC/ANDROID MEDIOCRITY!

  • To the Original Poster of the video, let's see him PROVE this laptop really is INSANELY FAST. Let him run the Crysis 2 Benchamark at FuLL resolution on this machine side by side with a Clevo x7200 and show us the results. Let's see then how "INSANELY FAST" it is when it's not playing around with OSX eye candy.

  • @ajarnCarlosVega Let's see you PROVE your laptop is better, and then let's see how "INSANELY FAST" it is when you're not trolling the comments.

  • If this was a PC video and I called it "insanely fast" and someone come in an said they didn't think it was INSANELY fast, there wouldn't be a problem.

But a Mac guy does and it turns into a flame war. They can't take any comments on their macs. Like a Mac has some sort of magic inside.

This is just a computer. Nothing insane here and nothing magical. Just a lot of eye candy and a fast Internet connection.

  • Sure. I just said I didn't think it was "insanely fast".

  • Let's quote your survey:

"Asus placed second to Apple and earned high marks for reliability of its portable PCs, and took high marks for its phone support. Among Asus notebook users in our survey, 17.1 percent reported at least one major problem with their laptops--slightly higher than Apple’s 15.3 percent, but significantly lower than the industry average of 25.9 percent. (We discuss Apple and Asus further elsewhere.)"

    Hardly a "smoking"

  • INSANLY FAST

    Hahahahahaha

    You're a funny guy.

  • Sorry. 15.3% vs 17.1%

I think Apple fanboys do better not saying anything.

  • Oh. And in the Survey you mentioned. 15.3 Apple users had issues. Only 17.1 ASUS users had issues. ASUS coming a close second with users also giving ASUS above average marks.

I hardly call that a, how did you put it?, oh yea, a "smoking".

The year before in 2009, Apple placed 4th and ASUS 1st.

  • @TimothiusMartin

    That's great.

It still doesn't make this laptop here "INSANELY FAST".

  • Install Crysis 2 and run it at full resolution on this and let's see if it is "insanely fast". Good? Yes. Insanely fast? I don't think so.

  • HP is one of the worst examples you can give.

My ASUS remains cool all day. But I know what you mean about HP. I had a tx2000 with an AMD and I could fry an egg on it. HP is terrible. It is now here with a bad motherboard. Dead.

Again, let's not get too much off the topic here. My original post was regarding the title here. I don't think this is "insanely fast". I can have all the apps I use up and switch between them just as fast. The video, that's just a fast Internet connection.

  • Also, in terms of long term use, according to the statistics of people claiming repairs on their warranty, Apple came in 4th for reliability.

The first 3 were ASUS, Toshiba and Sony. And in that order of I remember correctly.

Meaning, more people repaired their MacBooks than people who owned ASUS during the same period. That was a survey out of 30,000 people.

MacBook are good reliable computers, but not the most reliable.

  • @ajarnCarlosVega Toshiba computers are bricks. LOL. I can't imagine how robust they'd become if TOS started manufacturing their notebooks with the same materials AAPL uses.

  • @ajarnCarlosVega there are thousands of survey conducted every year about tech companies. Not all of them are reliable. According to a survey by PC World (Q4 2010) with a sample size of 79,000 respondents, Apple smoked the competition in the desktop, notebook, and smartphone categories, winning high praise from customers in all reliability and service categories. Original article: "The Tech Brands You Can Trust".

State your source and get your facts right.

  • @TimothiusMartin: I bought mine for the OS. MacOSX is much more reliable and less resource hungry.

Any Windows based PC with similar build quality is about the same price, so my question is.. if you're going to spend over a grand, why not just go with a MacBook Pro?

  • @PersonalGeek Because some people just choose to buy a PC. It is really that simple.

  • @ajarnCarlosVega you did get slapped in the face with a cock.. didn't you just?

  • @olepotti What? I responded to that comment already.

  • @olepotti It's basically fanboys giving a thumbs up. Go to PCWorld and you will see at the end of 2010 ASUS was 2nd at 15.3 and apple at 17.1. As I said, HARDLY a beating or "smoking". So, my comment stands. No point paying more for a laptop that is just as reliable as my ASUS.

  • @ajarnCarlosVega i would NEVER put toshiba in top 5 for reliability, had 2 £500 satelites which broke, my brother had a similar his broke, my mums still works but barely, and my uncles one broke. he bought a macbook pro and had it for 3 years then gave it to my aunt so he could get a newer one and theyre both still running fine after 5 years and 2 years, i took his advice and got one n no problems so far after a year. none of the toshibas lasted over a year except my mums

  • Also, I am not arguing the build quality of a MacBook Pro.

Personally I prefer plastics or an Alloy. It feels

Better to the touch and when you are resting your palms on it to type. Same reason why I hate the ASUS Zenbook.

  • @ajarnCarlosVega Cold MB Pro feels like crap.. warm feels good, though. IMO, when my plastic HP warms up, it feels ridiculously crappish.

  • I'm not talking about the 13". I was comparing it with the 15" because someone asked me about my wife's VAIO which is 15".

I was saying the Quad Core 15" Mac wouldn't make any difference to her. At all. Doesn't matter what applications and how many cores and multiple not multi threaded. At the end of the day, way I was saying, when she is sitting down writing exams and hand outs in word or typing up a PowerPoint the Mac will make 0 difference. It can't type the documents any faster.

  • Well deltaboy, what can I tell you.

My $800 ASUS with Windows 7 isn't really that much different than a 15" MacBook Pro for my needs. I wouldn't notice any difference. Nothing that noticeable anyway. And nothing that would matter to me.

I've used 15" MacBook pros and failed to see why I am paying and extra $1,000 bucks. Maybe is great for video editing, but I don't do that.

  • @ajarnCarlosVega Macs are much more expensive because of the materials they are made up of - for example, there is barely any, if any, plastic in them, nor is there any steel. Both of these materials use near slave labor in Africa to obtain, therefore it's cheap. Mac's are made of glass and aluminum, which is mined in Africa as well but not with even close to slave labor, and it's therefore much more expensive. But this is only one reason for the very expensive pricing.

  • @nz1297 LOL! The "slave labor" thing had me laughing.

  • @upiluften I said "nearly slave labor". The miners that obtain your silly plastic and steel computer parts work for 12+ hours a day, low wages, and in very unhealthy conditions. Educate yourself about something outside of your own little spectrum, ignorant Americans.

  • @nz1297 What the hell? No, I was laughing in a "good" way. Because what you said goes against the general image that people have of Mac vs PC. Not because there's still slave labour.

Why the hell do you people always have to play the "ignorant American" card! You're ignorant for assuming that all Americans are the same way.

  • @upiluften Note: I am American, living here, surrounded by an army of ignoramus', so I'm not assuming that all Americans are ignorant, as I both have a first hand experience with Americans AND I never said "All Americans are ignorant", I said "ignorant Americans". Difference.

  • @nz1297 You never directly said that all Americans are ignorant, however your choice of wording would indicate that that was what you meant to say. "Ignorant Americans" puts us all in the same boat. "Ignorant American" wouldn't. Though I can't say I blame you for thinking that, since I feel that way about many Americans too.

I dislike being called an American just because I live in the US. The term American has this ridiculous jingoistic connotation to it.

  • @nz1297 And where does it even say on my profile that I'm an American. *eyeroll*

  • @ajarnCarlosVega You pay an Apple premium. Not to mention the better customer service (typically) and slightly better construction methods and materials.

  • Sorry. On my phone

Wouldn't *type the document any faster.

  • @DELTABOY04

Of course. There has to be a difference. The new MacBooks are all Quad Cores.

What I'm saying is my wife, for example in her E series, wouldn't see any difference. When you are writing documents in word and making exams and handouts, there is no difference. The MacBook wouldn't faster the document any faster.

  • @ajarnCarlosVega The 13" MacBook Pros use dual core CPUs, not quad core CPUs. Also, the dual core CPUs can be faster than quad core CPUs depending upon the tasks that you're running. If you use programs that are single-threaded, the dual core CPU can be faster due to the higher clock speeds.

  • all you people comparing a asus 800 dollar laptop to a macbook pro is straight on crack...

  • And to clarify, because I've been getting a few responses, if you love Apple, knock yourself out and buy a Mac. MacBooks are very well made computers.

I just can't see how this is so much more superior than my experience with my $800 ASUS. For my needs my experience is pretty much the same. If I was a gamer my experience would be crap, but I do photoshop, 3D modeling and things like that. My experience in this MacBook would be pretty much the same for what I do.

  • *i meant number pad not keypad.

Which is something still missing from MacBooks. A real full sized keyboard with a number pad.

  • I just bought a VAIO for $700 for my wife. Corei3, 4GB Ram, dedicated video card. 15.5" screen and a real full size keyboard. With a keypad. She works on it all say long at work. No problems. Fast.

I just don't see how this is "insanely fast". It just looks like common Windows 7 operation with a fast internet connection.

  • @ajarnCarlosVega lol I've had vaios.. believe me there is a difference in speed..and i had a f series vaio.

  • @SuperEnigmation

No. Why would it slow down overtime?

  • @ajarnCarlosVega you're serious, right? It doesn't slow down over time?

  • @ajarnCarlosVega aw man! LUCKY U! since i got my mac i got like 7 viruses T_______T

  • I got mine 3 days ago :D

  • wow i was surprised 2 wen igot mine iheard dis only works fast on high speed internet i thot ihad high speed internet so dats the reason and i had da i7 but my friend had da i5 had no high speed internet his was insanely fast p.s do u have highspeed internet?!!

  • what does sandy bridge mean;? is that the new Lion?!??!

  • @eattia1994 Sandy Bridge is the processor, not the OS.

  • Y U NO HAVE LAUNCH PAD!

  • i have that camera your holding! :)

  • @liveforlife11 I had one, but i bought insted a Canon 600D, its a lot better thane this sony

  • Yeah sadly it's not this fast with a HDD, But with a SSD, yeah it makes a huge performance difference on any PC or Mac...

  • Yeah. I just got the same computer.... super fast. I had a dell mini before this.... My two computers are polar opposites!!

  • love that song haha played it on my macbook pro all day today at work.

  • how did u do it on ur trackpad?! can u do a video about it? pls

  • i think you have an ssd in your machine.........

  • Comment removed

  • so this might sound stupid , but i have a mac , and you know how you pulled all of the things you have on the screen into small blocks into one screen ? ( 1:03 )

how did you do that on your track pad ? im clueless .

  • @asianlivelovelaugh97 thats deppends ,which os are you using.

in lion you use 3 fingers and scroll up the trackpad,or just press f3

  • @asianlivelovelaugh97 go to system preferences> trackpad> options or advanced options. you can pretty much get a tutorial on those things. and you might also need to activate those motions.

  • @howtofuckamockinbird thanks ! . . and nice user name .

  • @asianlivelovelaugh97 thanks. George Carlin RIP :D

  • PC = FIX ME I'M BROKEN MAC = PERFECT

  • i can't wait to get mine!

  • I'm using the same laptop. . . =P

  • You're probably use to old Intel Pentium processors. This is nothing for some people these days.

  • PC- PROGRAM NOT RESPONDING

    MAC-- (*NO COMMENT*)

  • Question: Does the i5 handle video editing software good? Have you tried it?

  • Install Gentoo on it to make it super insanely fast

  • yeah, but put starcraft 2 in there and lol at the speed.

  • My $700 dollar ASUS laptop works and multitasks just as well. I've been watching Youtube, working on Photoshop and 3D and doing other things at the same time and this computer doesn't really have a video card and an old i5 processor. Nice round soft plastic doesn't cut my wrists when I type.

Save $1,000 to do the same work I would be doing on a Mac.

  • @ajarnCarlosVega

To a Mac user, this is "insanely fast." To a PC user, this is minimum acceptable performance.

  • I never bought a mac for the power, I bought it for the superior manufacturing quality of the layout internaly, design and overall extreme durability.

  • my toshiba is just as fast as my mac so it didnt impress me

  • the things that impressed me the most is the flash cam and multitouch trackpad

  • I really enjoyed this video, TimothiusMartin. I've got a new 2011 Macbook Pro coming with a 2.5GHZ quad-core Intel Core i7 processor and a solid-state drive, and I just know it's going to be a blast. Maybe I'll do an unboxing video on it. I don't know. Maybe so. :)

  • @m200mw Were you born in some alternate reality where any Windows PCs have a comparable resale value to a Mac? I dropped a lot of money for my new 15 inch Macbook Pro with 512mb VRAM, but I can't even compare it to the competition and feel that regretful, not in the mobile market. Yeah, I could have saved 500 bucks and got something somewhat comparable, but in reading reviews the overall functionality is untouchable.

  • as i was reading all the comments it reminded me of the four guys in Big Bang Theory =)

  • ok, now i'm sure, i definitely want a macbook pro

  • thats just network speed not mac speed

  • People, if you usually buy PCs would you buy a Mac if money weren't an issue?

  • @SimHarrison yes.

  • @SimHarrison i own an alienware, money isnt an issue.....

  • first of all, the OS X and Windows 7 are completely different operating softwares and deliver completely different things. That is why they aren't the same price. Most pc users don't usually upgrade all too much because they end up fine with what they have. The updates are more for application compatibility than for the graphical interfaces of OS X. Also, XP was better than WIndows 7. In all honesty, the only time i would ever buy a mac is if i wanted to look cool at starbucks.

  • @PennyShortProduction ...and not want to throw your shoes through the screen. I have had a Mac since last summer. Best, most pleasant computer experience ever. My HP Always crashed, got a virus with GREAT UP TO DATE VIRUS protection, glitches.. Apple is far superior. I hated Apple years ago cuz I thought people just wanted to be different. I have an iMac. Home use. Look cool at home? Anyone who says a MS computer is better has never used a Mac for a month. Chevette Vs Benz S Class.. No compare!

  • @BrianPex ... i'm glad your found a kit that works for you....but there really isn't much diff btwn the two (PC v Mac). I have a vaio custom f11 (i7, 6gb ram, etc) and a macair (i5, 128 SSD, etc)....the only diff is PC hardware is cheaper when compared to Mac and the Mac is aesthetically more pleasing. I will say it was a bit of a learning curb for the mac trackpad (swipe down to scroll up, etc) but overall same diff.....

  • @brooks718 How about VIRUS BS? No issues. At all. I had an HP with Norton 360 and paid $89 a year for protection. Got a Virus, called them and they wanted $99.00 to get rid of it. What a joke. MultiTouch alone is FAR better. Just to OS look and smooth operation and look is so much better. PC's are like toys vs a Machine. I can't see how anyone who has used a Mac for more than a month would not see the TREMENDOUS difference unless they are slow

  • @PennyShortProduction Stupid comment. I was a PC guy for years. I bought an iMac. Not portable. Not looking cool for anyone. Staying cool, however, is key. I punched a hole in my last PC. Never again. I had XP on a powerful machine. Viruses, no multitouch, clutter throughout entire hard drive, poor memory managment...etc. I hated Apple people thinking they were geeks just wanting to be different. I was wrong. They are far superior computers. I love stuff that works. I have android so not MAC BOI

  • Crazy how much people love to hate... Sheesh... If a Mac is not for you, go somewhere else. For people who want a Mac because, out of the box, it handles multitasking way better than a Windows Pc, this video is great!

  • @neef68 PERFECTLY SAID! I think the issue is Apple and their OUTRAGEOUS AD campaign with the iPhone. People see an iPhone and the newer Android phones and say, "What is so great about Apple?" I agree. The iPhone 4/4S is a great phone but the new android 4G phones are better. I mean the iTunes SYNC and interface with iPhone is MUCH better than anything else, if u dont use itunes, Android is great. I have best of both worlds. I have an iPod touch with an HTC Android phone. LOVE them both!

  • Awesome video.. Thanks for uploading.. If I wasn't sold before, I'm definitely sold on a Macbook Pro now ;-)

  • No, i was simply responding to a brainless retort from an apple "fan boy." All i said was that you can get a better processor, graphics card, and other specs for cheaper than a macbook pro. There is no arguing it, it's a fact. I will say that Mac's are very good at multi tasking and other processes, but a pc can get superior hardware for half the price.

  • @PennyShortProduction You people are STILL going with that story? better hardware does not necessarily mean better performance. Also, if you keep your software current over the course of say, 5 years, Mac would actually cost you less. Windows 7 home premium upgrade = $200. OS X upgrade = $30. I know you'd probably say "but i don't need to upgrade because windows xp is awesome." when in fact it is shit, with Mac you get the latest software always, which is an expensive proposal on windows PC.

  • Comment removed

  • @SimHarrison hardware on pcs is way ahead of macs, dont argue, i do more than you when it comes to this topic

  • @m200mw hardware? sure, performance? not so sure.

  • @SimHarrison yes perfomance, the baseline macbook pro cost what i paid for my high end alienware, and it is faster than any mac.

  • @PennyShortProduction Actually, that's what a lot of PC fanboys like to think. Windows laptops cost more to build than desktops, I'm building a desktop for gaming now and it costs 300 bucks more than my laptop. But the difference between my macbook and the desktop is that my macbook has a better processor (itd cost 200 more to it on the desktop too), it has bluetooth built in, and only the graphics card is worse. Not to mention I'm only buying the tower, not a monitor or keyboards or anything.

  • @rodrigojuanpereira That isn't all pc's though. That's the specific pc that you're buying. I'm not a pc fanboy, i just simply stated in my first comment that you can get the same or better specs for a pc laptop than a macbook pro. A fully maxed out macbook pro costs 7000 dollars, if you go to the apple website and choose the best of every customization option. You could get a better pc desktop for a couple thousand dollars less than that.

  • @PennyShortProduction Yes but what I was saying is that it costs a lot more to put stuff into a laptop than a desktop. Get a windows laptop with the SAME specs of a standard 1100 dollar 13 inch macbook pro, and then tell me you can get a windows laptop with better specs for half the price. A lot of people underestimate how powerful a macbook really is hardware-wise. and I'm no apple fanboy, I've only owned one apple laptop throughout my life, and several window computers.

  • @rodrigojuanpereira you are getting scammed brah, i built a beast rig for $1000, maxes any game, and has insane specs

  • @m200mw Dude, you're talking about building computers that equal a Mac, and all along this dude is making a video on a Macbook Pro (a notebook) and not a desktop. There's obviously going to be a price difference today between a desktop and a notebook. Desktops are becoming a thing of the past. No one wants a junky old PC desktop with Windows any longer. They want a Macbook Pro or an Alienware laptop. But, I'm glad you enjoy your PC Windblows desktop. To each their own. Mac rocks!

  • @blicksflicks i know much more than you about this topic, please stop arguing. my 14x laptop kills any mac, and my desktop is better than any future mac

  • @m200mw Actually, you don't seem to know very much more than I do, because you have this idea you'll be okay with the same computer for another 10 or 15 years. Just try using a fifteen year old computer from 1996 in 2011. I don't care how powerful that computer was in 1996. It's not going to be crap in 2011. That's the kind of junk people are recycling these days. In fifteen years, both of our computers will be antiques and possibly worthless.

  • @m200mw Who says I was arguing with you? I'm just telling you the facts. Macs are far better buys than PCs. They have a better resell value, better operating system, better design, better technical support, better free open source software possibilities, better user experience… well, I could go on, but you get what you pay for. Comparing a PC to a Mac is like comparing a Toyota Corolla to a Porsche or a Ferrari. It just doesn't work, bub.

  • @blicksflicks Yeah, I agree macs have amazing build quality and a great OS... but saying they are far better than PCs is just retarded. You cannot genrelize PCs as they are all very different. Also if I were to buy a Mac right now I bet you pretty much 85% to 90% of all my programs that I bought would be incompatible, that is what pisses me off about Apple. I love the machines themselves, but the community is is so arrogant saying shit like this.

  • @nelecz1000 Actually you'd just need to install Windows on your Mac with BootCamp (it comes standard with OS X). So 100% of your software should be compatible. You could also run Windows and OS X simultaneously with Parallels.

  • @nelecz1000 I do have to admit--even though I love my Macs--that what you're saying is somewhat true. Incompatibility did become a bit of an issue with OS X Lion coming out. I mean, I have my 2007 Macbook Pro with Snow Leopard, and I have lots of programs. Now, I'm buying a new 2011 Macbook Pro for an upgrade with OS X Lion, and some of my programs need a Lion update to work. But, I'll have to just wait for OS X Lion versions to come out for some of my software.

  • @blicksflicks U da man. Tell this moron whats up

  • @m200mw Windows is junk dude, wake up. I love when people bash Apple. 90% of them never used a Mac for more than a week.

  • @PennyShortProduction Actually, I compared prices of an Alienware machine with a Macbook Pro, and the Alienware came out to be even more expensive than the Macbook Pro with near equivalent specs. Like you PC guys says, I decided to see if I could get better hardware and design for the same price as the Macbook Pro. After checking to see, I found out that what you're saying just wasn't true. I bought the Macbook Pro instead.

  • @blicksflicks Alienware is a gaming pc, macbooks are not. Of course they're gonna be different prices.

  • @PennyShortProduction Yeah. But, see. Here's the thing. I was under the impression that I would see how good of a PC I could get for what I was spending on a 17" Macbook Pro with a solid-state hard drive and the fastest processor available. In the end, if I paid the equivalent of a PC, I wouldn't get all that much better in design and horsepower. In fact, the price difference was only around $300-$400 dollars. And OS X and better design is worth the extra $300-$400.

  • @PennyShortProduction Compare the prices yourself. There's not much difference in price when you consider all the hardware specs. In fact, every time I've done it, I've come to only a $300-$400 difference in price. That little bit of extra I pay for a Mac is worth it for what I get. Mac OS X is just a far better user experience, and Mac has a lot of open source software out there for free. You don't have to pay a dime. Like Bean, the word processor for example?

  • @blicksflicks i own a m14x, and i paid $1800 for it, its specs destroy any mac, and it is sexy as fuck

  • @m200mw Give me a break. Your m14x for only $1,800 does not beat the current 2.5GHZ 17" Macbook Pro an quad-core Intel core i7 processor with turbo-boost speeds of 3.6GHZ, 8GB of RAM and a Solid-State drive in it. I very much doubt you can get the design and specs of that Macbook Pro I ordered for $1,800. Plus, with a PC, you get a weak design and a weak operating system. What gives? What planet are you from? :O

  • @blicksflicks im sorry you made the mistake of ordering a mac, i have a i7 2860qm at 2.5 ghz with turbo boost up to 3.6ghz, and is easily overclocked in the bios.windows 7 ultimate, 8gb of 1600mhz ddr3 ram, a 3gb gtx555m with optimus for my graphics, a 750gb hdd, and a 250gb ssd, Klipsch speakers, and the alienfx lights, much mor powerful than your mac, much faster, and has a better os. I clearly have the better computer.

  • @m200mw Well, personally, I don't think I made a mistake buying a Mac at all. I've had a MacbooK Pro since 2007, and I decided to buy the newest one. I've had approximately thirty years in computing, and I've had a lot of experience with PCs. Personally, PC Windows machines are second rate compared to Macs. If you try to sell that PC a year from now, you probably won't get but a $100 for it. If I do the same with this 2007 Mac, I'd score around $900-$1000, and it's four years old.

  • @blicksflicks i could sell my alienware for a good $1000 a year from now, you would get about $350-$500 for your old macbook, i will not need to buy another computer for another 10-15 years. i can update my components, and windows is the clear better os, most files are on windows, all exe files are on windows, all games are on windows, and it looks better. along with the fact i have never had a virus in the 19 years ive used pc's

  • @m200mw Actually, that's not true at all. PC desktops are pure junk after only a year of owning them unless you rig them with some insane high-end specs that your average consumer can't afford. I've checked the going selling price of my 2007 Macbook Pro, and my computer can sell for what you built your desktop for, and it's over a four year old Macbook Pro. If you try to do that with any PC, you'll be sadly disappointed. Google "Mac resell value," and read all about it.

  • @blicksflicks i see macs on craigslist all the time, if you expect to get that out of your macs, your mistaken, my desktop has a 8-core amd proccesor at 5.1ghz, 14gb of 1600mhz ddr3 ram, four 1tb hdds, sli'd gtx 560's overclocked. and it will be amazing years from now as well

  • @m200mw You won't have to buy another computer for 10-15 years!??? You mean you're going to be floating with that Alienware machine for ten or fifteen years more? Man, you need to wake up. Most computers are considered ancient technology only three or four years later. My 2007 Macbook Pro compared to the new 2011 Macbook Pro is proof enough. Software changes and old operating systems fall behind and aren't compatible with old hardware. There's no telling what will happen ten years from now.

  • @blicksflicks my laptops hardware is so good that it will be a low end computer in 15 years

  • @m200mw What!? In fifteen years, they'll probably have quantum computers, and cores will be a thing of the past. Both of our computers will clearly be junk for the trash pile in fifteen years.

  • @blicksflicks macs look dull, alienwares look mean and sexy, macs have an ok resale value, not as good as alienware, alienware has great support, much more free programs are on windows, widows7 and 8 are amasing, and my m14x looks like a ferrari, and your mac looks like a toyota. I want to see you play battlefield 3 on high settings.

  • @m200mw Did I just read you say that Windows is a better OS that x? (Where x is anything else)? You're being sarcastic, right? Okay, I'll go to bed. It's too late, I'm apparently hallucinating that somebody is calling Windows a good operating system.
