I just recently bought a quilting foot and I can't get the tension right. There is always huge loops from the bobbin thread. I just have no clue and everything that I've found on the Internet just talks about how to use it but not the settings. Help?
@jenniferwhelan Hi, I had the same problem and I took my machine to the shop. It turned out that the needle needed adjusting. It was hitting the bobbin case and therefore leaving large loops on the backside of my quilt. I was also breaking needles, so if your machine is doing that too then you probably need the needle placement adjusted. Good luck, Lynn
@jenniferwhelan - You might also want to check the height of the quilting foot. If the foot is resting too high, the quilt will bounce around, causing the thread to do all kinds of funky stuff. Make sure the foot is just skimming the surface of the quilt, not squishing it, but also not giving it too much space to move up or down. Hope that makes sense!
