@DIdaho9001 thanks! i might just do that... since making this prototype i've learned some very useful skills like printed circuit board design. perhaps i'll design a production model and use funds from Kickstarter to get bulk rates on components for a production run. of course i don't know what the demand is, so i can envision a scenario where we have thousands of sonar goggles lying around with no one to wear them... :?P
@peteralaric Well, to me that's the point of kickstarter, gauge the market so you know how to proceed. If people like the idea then they can pay for development, otherwise back to the drawing board. Although you should also do some free adverts by posting on forums, etc. as i've seen good projects die because no one knew about them. If it doesn't get funded then no real loss. Good luck though.
@DIdaho9001 well you've given me a lot to think about. i think i'll design a PCB first (as small as possible) and then field the 2nd gen device to some people who will be able to evaluate it. if it gets the thumbs up, i guess Kickstarter it is! :?)
