I wore braces for 6 whole years when I was a teen because my previous ortho wouldn't do extraction even though my teeth actually needed more room to move. Anyway I brushed my teeth thoroughly and went for cleaning every 6 months... never had weird stains coming from the bands when I got the braces off. I have heard others who got ''shapes'' on their teeth due to stains...it's something you'd want to avoid.
