I'm a freshman at North Forsyth High, and I still see the racism in some of my peers. I am not the least bit racist (a shocker considering my entire family is), and it disgusts me hearing classmates use "nigger" and other offensive terms.
Racism in Forsyth is not a problem like it once was. There are
African Americans, Caucasians, Asians, Hispanics and people from all over the world who live here happily together. You will racist idiots all over the country and you will also find a few here but not like this video is imposing. And screw Oprah for ever coming here and lying through her teeth about her experience. People were shocked when she lied on her show about her trip here.
im an african american and my caucasian friend is from there, he's pretty funny guy, and good person, I can tell he comes from a good family, racism and hatred is not over in the US, but is going that way which is good for all of us if you ask me.
I'm fillipino and my friends are to and they live there and they say it is a really nice place and I shouldn't worry if I'm gonna make new Friends at piny groves middle causeeveryone therre r nice no bullies no racists and no gangs
oh and Asian Freak, I guarantee that you would get a bunch of racist comments thrown at you anywhere you go in the U.S. Just like if a bunch of whites go into downtown Atlanta. We would be humiliated. I'm not racist at all and I have a bunch of black and asian friends, I'm just giving you the cold hard facts buddy.
Wow this video is a lying piece of shit. I've lived in Forsyth county all 16 years of my life. I go to South Forsyth High School. I haven't seen one real racial problem here in my life. Blacks are treated as whites here. Nothing racist has happened here since 1982. Get over it.
Also all of my friends are liberal, pro-gay, and just the most amazing people you'll ever meet. So you know what? This video isn't totally accurate. Yes, there are stupid, ignorant, brainwashed racist pricks who walk among us, but there are racist pricks EVERYWHERE. Not just Cumming.
And whether it does or not, it has nothing to do with my color or my hair, because HE still loves me no matter what color I am. Before me he previously asked out an Asian girl. I also have a white friend who dated a Latina all last year, and this year they remain extremely close friends.
Dude, seriously. I'm mixed, live in a multi-racial family (white step-father, mixed mother, and siblings of all colors), and I live in Cumming. I'm a Junior in Forsyth Central High School, and am dating a white Senior in an all white family. His whole family likes me (or at least has nothing against me), and it has nothing to do with my race.
I lived in Alpharetta. I am not black. But, in Cumming, I did see it. I thought of moving into an apartment there... one of the first built at the time and found out that a one bedroom unit was a insanely large 1500 square feet. Did some checking and found out that Forsythe county tried to keep apartments out of the county for years so the county said, fine.... but a the smallest unit had to be as big as a full sized family home. This out priced a unit above the typical Black tenant.
I just found out that rape accusing in school and I was shocked that the whites there kicked the blacks and hung the three blacks that was accused and I live in forsyth and was disapointed of what raceil history they had here
I really think alot of the racism is dying off. I mean as the old people start to pass then they and their old racist ways die also right? I mean sure your going to always have the redneck type in the northern part of the county, but in the Southern and West Forsyth County it is almost gone. I go to the new West High School and I can honestly say I have never seen any racism at all.
I'm from Forsyth County, GA, I lived in the city of Cumming in a nice neighborhood. Schools there were very nice such as South Forsyth County High School. I loved it there and it was becoming more and more diverse
Thank you for your comments. Your honesty tells the story of what happened in this community so much better than any video or article ever could. Thank you again.
DONT LIKE IT DONT COME HERE. there was never a problem until you people made an issue out of it. Stay away from here then you idiots. Troublemakers who came here.... plenty of other places for you to live, we dont want you here, so why come? stay away
hi. im asian. and there is deffinatley racism here. i have experineced first hand multipule of times. it is really unbelievable. i couldnt believe there even was this kind of plae anymore.
I'm sorry, I think that last comment could be misinterpreted. There definatly WAS racism back in the 80's and even into the early 90's, but I am absolutely livid that you have the audacity to accuse us of still being that way.
I'm fairly positive that thats what the other people were trying to say in their comments as well.
I have been to Forsyth county multiple times... and yes I did experience racism... although the video actually speaks to something other than overt in your face racism.
that was the most biast video i have ever seen. I live in Forsyth County, and I have all my life. If you ever actually come here and experience racism for your self, I'd love to know. Until then, your opinion isn't valid. I'm offended by this video, and would like for it to be removed
Thank you for your thoughts. I think the revealing tone of your comments puts an exclamation point on the issues laid out in the video. Thanks again for reminding us how prevalent this condition still is.
I was one of the 20,000 marchers. I was 19 yrs old, and it was a completely surreal experience. I could not fully comprehend the gravity of it all then, but I am proud to have shared this brief moment of GA's history. Live free or die!
I cud be wrong but I doubt if things have changed so much in the last 20 yrs that this isnt relevent. Racism in the economic cycle and in the schools, hindering minorities from becoming prosperous..all that still happens.

dude, not cool!
weather intentional or not, this video potrays the entire county as racist....
thats stereotyping, which makes you prejudice against people in one geographic area...JERK
you do know that people from the north have basically taken over every economic and political spectrum in the county, right?

Umm....... I think you are racist for coming to that conclusion. So black people are automatically poorer than white people? Nice logic there.
