I never met anyone on the internet. I can see how it can be safe because you are doing it from home or at a public place. I dont see any thing worng with it as long as you know wheres it leading to or you know what you are getting your self into. but i wouldnt used it for datting to many crazys out in the world today
Real talk, October of 2007 i met a female online on crushspot two months later we were a couple, a year later, we r engaged, she live hours and hours from me but wen somethin is meant 2 be, it just is.
OMG Dari, i could not stop laughing when u said,"Let me see ur baby maker", I also just want to let u know i LOVE watching ur videos!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for ur videos. :D
Hey Dari my name is Remi. I completely understand what you're talking about. I met my last girlfriend on myspace and we were together for a year and a couple of months. Still to this day we are best friends. She lives down the street from my college and we still visit one another. There is nothing wrong with internet friendships/relationships just as long as you know who you're talking to, and you don't put yourself out there or represent yourself the wrong way. Peace and love dari:)
I don't know why I just saw this video today, but its awesome! And you are totally right! Yes, there are creepy people on the internet, but most people are just normal like you and me. I met my hubby on the internet and I totally would have never met him otherwise. Thanks for the vids.
I met my boyfriend on the internet. Over four years we became best friends and now he lives closer to me. I'm glad you made this video because people just don't really understand.
You do meet a few creepers but like you said, but it's all about knowing your limits, and knowing what's not appropriate.
But yeah, my boyfriend is the best person I ever met, and I have always had plenty of other IRL friends. So basically I agree with everything you said :]
Good video ^^ You act like my cousin, same moves, same facial expressions... just amazing... hey! maybe we are one family! even through I'm white.. it's still possible! ^___^
loved both videos...It sucks when you have judgmental friends and have to defend yourself about the internet...they just dont understand unless they are internet people.
I've met a couple extremely close friends online and I got the SAME criticism from almost everyone I told about them. It's crazy though, because those people would end up being the ones struggling to find someone to be close to.
I met my boyfriend on line. We've been together for 3 years now. We are closer than ever.! Ive met his parents and gone of his house and vice versa. So I agree w/ you Dari.!
i met somebody on myspace. and they ended up going to my school. LOL but im talkin to somebody now i met over the internet and they are amazing. i love the internet. it expands everything.
well i have a friend i met on the internet, well i think i met on the internet lol.. but yea he lives like 5 hours away and i like talking to him, we seen eachother like twice and hung out, he is a really good friend something like my bestfriend.
this is like my first comment to one of your videos but yea i have to they are all awesome but one of my favorites is the one with noahs ark... that one is amazing!
a few times ive talked to people on the internet and it went horribly wrong and resulted in them getting blocked /:
but way more times that that its gone great. i have three pretty close friends i met on the internet, ive only met one, though, and not intentionally, i was on a school trip, and i bumped into them, it was the wierdest but coolest thing ever :)
Me and my husband met on the internet... We dated for a year and a half... and we've been married for almost 2 years!!! And he's the best husband ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
lol i love dis video, i've neva met a creepy person on da internet yet, uumm da person im dating now is sum1 i met on the internet and its going great so far
I admit it!!! I used to be one of those people who thought that meeting people on the internet was creepy. Not evil...but creepy. You are so on point here. In "real life" or on the internet; people are just people, good or bad.
I have always wanted to be more social in real life and on the Internet but like u said some people think negatively about the Internet. I watched ur videos and I am gonna try and put myself out there a little. I understand what u mean that u feel better comunicating with people u can't see or that are not in your everyday life. I think it is important to have someone to talk to who isn't going judge u or make u feel weird. Great videos Dari!
I met my ex boyfriend on the internet. We had a mutual friend on myspace, so I wanted to get to know him. Then we were texting for a few months, met eachother and pretty much got together. A lot of people are upset about it because he was the one that took my virginity. But. Idk. I basically agree with you 100% and don't regret a thing. People just don't understand and aren't open.
Yeah I have met someone online.... and I'm very glad that I did because he's like my best friend. If something goes really wrong in my life and I don't want to tell anyone he's always there, and visa vera
i met two of my girlfriends on the internet but never intended on that to happen when i started talkin to them i just get bored and like talkin to new people we started talkin on aim and on the fone [txtz] for a min and then we met each other {in a public place thou im nt stupid lol} but yeah they were hella cool still talk to them now the internet isnt all bad ppl just dnt understand cuz i got sum where looks wen i sed i met ppl off the internet but wateva idc cuz i kno how it is...LOVE DA VID
yeah i met someone online and we start dating we've been together about 4yrs now but its so weird he says he's in my city and everytime we plan suttin he just doesnt respond for like a week..and then he doesnt wanna give me the address and on top of all that ive never heard his mother he wont let me tlk to her or anithing but he always tlks about her..Can u please give me some advive im startin to think he's some weirdo or somethin loli dont wanna think that but i sorta am now its jus sooo weird
i met someone online. he seemed like a great wholesome person. then we started texting and talking on the phone. next thing i know he started telling me he wanted to kill himself and how life sucked and all his family issues. then he expected me to meet him after all that. psycho! scared the hell outta me
IM ME!!!! :D - send me a message and i'll give you my Messenger :P - lol - i like making new friends online... - and i get the same shit from people that you are talking about.... yay for this video! - 5stars :P
some 1 tried to start a friendship with me over MSN Messenger. He lives in Europe some where and it was just too weird to carry on a friendship with him without knowing his true intentions and so forth. So I just ignore him and well, he got the picture.
I totally agree with everything you had to say; the internet isnt full of fairies and unicorns but when you do happen to find a good thing; people always want to crush it; ive met one of the most wonderful guys on the internet; that was never intentionally going to go anywhere. hes so much like me and i enjoy talking to him .. its like i wish i cud thank the internet more everyday i speak to him.. but then theres my bestfrien who thinks that its a waste of time & that hes not who he says he is.
My best friend is living across the country so we couldn't have met if it wasn't for the internet... and I never met him in person but we have a lot in common and know everything about each other. So yeah, it's a great way of meeting people.
Yup, I met my husband online on a gaming site hahaha. Then we chated on msn, then he came to the UNITED STATES! yup hes from the UK then I went the UK (back and forth for a while) falling in love and now just celebrated 1 year married oh and we arent old haha we're only in our 20's so yes its possible ;)
Not that it has to do with your video but im afraid of ants and butterflies also
But great video, meeting people online is only bad when someone has other motives. You know what I mean? I met this girl online and everything seemed fine. And sooner or later we started talking on the phone and when I thought we were getting serious she told me she had a gf.
well I dated a few guys from Myspace and my husband was one of them. I always wonder what if I didnt reply his message. I was so close in deleting his message because I was soo tired of guys not taking me seriously.
When I least expected it, we ended up together. We've been together for two yrs and a half. Also, 2 of my best friends I met on myspace as well.
I've been meeting people "from the internet" for about 15 years. Sure, I've had a few bad experiences here and there, but they were emotionally bad, not like I got raped in the butthole or killed and thrown in a gutter. If it weren't for the internet, I wouldn't have met and be with my boyfriend now and he means the world to me. He's the best thing to ever come into my life so... Thanks Internet!!! <3
I've pretty much given up on trying to explain because people who are not in the situation will not understand
The internet has gotten such a bad rep that people (mostly older) think that everything/one "inside" is one big scam or scheme
youre right, it's all about finding the good apples/comfortability
my sister met her bf of a few months on a music sharing site and talked to him a year BEFORE meeting him in person, and from what i know they have a great relationship
that is so true. i have several friends from the internet...one i never met and we have been talking on the phone for 6yrs! another i met one time years and years ago but we live in different states...i have met mad cool people online physically and non-physically. i met my first boyfriend online...i been trying to explain to my mom exactly what you said this whole video.
this may sound crazy (or maybe not Dari!) but I've met the majority of my friends in college through the internet! I thought I was gonna have the typical college experience, become friends with ppl I go to school with but that's not the case! All my friends live out of town which is a plus because I travel ALOT and so therefore I always have a place to stay! lol. The internet is SO not evil! lol
I actually met someone through youtube :-) She use to post videos up daily and I made a couple of videos for her, but then I took them down. But the thing was we starting sending each other personal messages, then it ended up as us just instant messaging each other on a daily basis. She's stays in the UK. We been chatting for two years now. And I met somebody else she put like tons of comments on my page. She wants to talk to me through phone, but I'm skeptical because she is really young :-(
So your saying in your math class there is a creepy person that sits behind you, but you don't personally tell them, you subliminally tells us through this video :-) LOL
I met someone once that I had talked to online for several years off and on; I thought we were just friends and they apparently had thought there was more. They were completely nice but still freaked me out a little bit. If someone you just met starts talking about future plans of living together of this and that, what would that make you think? Me personally, that's scary. To them not so much, apparently. Point being, everyone is different.
I have met quite a few ppl from the internet, and they all are like family. I've went on dates with a few..they werent axe murderers..lol I have long time friendships that Ive built with ppl that I wouldnt have made if it werent for the internet so Im completely agree with u Dari.
Nice video, it all depends on the people or person involved. I met my Gf now on Myspace and its started as just a friend thing and it turned out that not only did we click, we turned out to live 3 blocks away from each other. She saw me at a bus stop one day, we ended up talking a lil more on msn and then we arranged a movie night and pretty much been together ever since for almost 3 yrs now, so it basically depends on what you online for and if you true to yourself
lol Girl Dari nail on the head...when I tell ppl about my internet friends I get the weird creepy looks..and they always say "you need a life"..lol I met alotta cool ppl on IMVU and SecondLife both very fun games met very great ppl on those sites and it's been about 3 years I feel closer to some of them than I do to ppl I see everyday it's weird...ppl just need to be more open-minded not everyone on the internet is not out to get you...but yea baby steps!!
I haven't met any people PERSONALLY, but because of YT I've met so many awesome people that I would LOVE to meet personally any day. I totally agree with you wholeheartedly. I hate the stigma internet relationships have, but it's the 21st century. It's not so horrific anymore. The world is expanding and becoming one, and by closing yourself off you choose not to change with the times.
I love how you say... "real life" when you discuss the people you met in person initially or you see day to day. The internet is real life, I think. Any person you meet on the internet becomes a part of your life in some unique way. DARI you're awesome!
3 years ago day before valentines day my lover of like 3 months broke up with me i was going to kill myself valentines day made the decision to do it was leaving and " youve got mail" so i logged into my email it was this guy he asked me if i was a drag queen . thinking oh it wont matter im gonna be honest to this guy so i said " yeah " sent . walked to the door and ;' youve got mail ' so i ran back to the computer that guy was like i love drag queens totally saved my life he is currently the 1
SEE people need to open their minds and get with the freakin times! There are weird, scary, creepy both online AND offline. As long as you take care of yourself and are smart, you can keep yourself safe both online and offline. It's not that hard.
I met my ex girlfriend on myspace in 04 and we had been together for 5 years. But people change and we aren't together anymore but it was really random. I was looking for other musicians who wanted to hang out and play together. So I browsed people in my local town, her search came up and it was the only one that was a fluke. She was a whole state over...400 miles away. Weird huh? I told the search to just be 10 miles.
I met my BEST friend on Sconex in 2004....I was about 14 & he was 17. It went from that. To myspace. I gave him my cell number & we spoke like EVERY night. Then...we went to facebook.
SO finally on July 13, 2009 after FIVE years of i'ms. text messages. & phone calls. We finally met. & were so close. I cant imagine life without him. I tell him everything!
girl u like my twin lol... ok not quite but we think alike. i have met people from the internet (cali, kentucky, florida, ppl 30 mins away from me lol) and they are the best people ever. i think i honestly have more people on my AIM list that i met online then i do in real life... smh. i've met 3 ppl so far and they are the best. ppl always wanna think because we're young we're naive and that pisses me off. i understand where u are coming from :) thanks for makin this vid
I Agree With JLCammack , I Meet The Most Amazing People Online . And Without Them , Helping Me Through Things That I Thought I Wouldn't Make It Through , Id Be A Way Different Person To This Day . But This Was A Great Video Dari (:
I have met some amazing people online. People who I trust with everything and now call them family. We buy gifts for each others children. We Skype. We text. We talk all the time in some form.
Not everyone online is a creeper and I hate when people judge me or my online friends because we "met" online and are now BFFs.
3. I hate that too, when you're making a vid and get all flustered b/c you want to cover ALL the aspects of w/e it is so ppl won't have something to Jump On in the comments section, only to end up with a 1976397 minute long ass veedeeyo.
I have met some major creepers online. People message me or comment me saying weird things. But I think for the most part I meet completely normal people just like you and me. I have made some good friends online and from youtube So people out there who think everyone online are like the people on to catch a predator are completely wrong and I don't think I would even know that unless I started my youtube channel.
i met my husband on myspace lol. we've been together for 5yrs married for a year in jan 2010. but i have alot of online friends and people IRL always says 'theyre not who you think they r" etc. but whatever like u said u only get creepers if u hoe it up online.
my internet friends are so very close to me. I met them all here on YouTube through making videos and we are all going to meet up very soon. But they have been there for me more than other real life friends have been in all the years put together. I live in the south, and I'm gay. There isn't a lot of options for someone like me. The internet is both good and bad. You just have to use it wisely.
I met my husband on the internet while he was serving in Iraq. Half way around the world, but grew up 5 minutes away from me. I was at a point in my life when I just wanted to talk without ever meeting or being physically in someones presence. I just wanted someone to talk to. I was on a mission and didn't want any serious distractions. What a beautiful distraction!!!!
I've reconnected with my childhood best friend, and found out a guy I went to school with but didn't know too well was friggin awesome. I even dated a guy from "the net" once...and we are best friends now.
Don't let anyone make you defend your decision to be as active on the internets as you are. If they want to live in their circle of "tangible" interactions, let them. The rest of us can continue to be awesome online. :)
i met my husband on aol back 14 years ago - against my families wishes. they also were telling me the only people on the internet are bad people and all that. good thing I followed my own head or I wouldn't have met my husband. I'm right there with what your sayin' girl!
ive met MANY best friends online. and i met my fiance in "real life" but he lives in Germany... so our relationship is based online. my father met his wife online in europe and she moved to canada for him.
ive also had many creepy scares. but nothing i ever regret.. you win some you lose some. and you learn from your mistakes <3 i know exactly what you mean and i FB'd the part 1 link so my friends get the damn point
ur awesome..ppl are weird ppl are smart ppl are dumb ppl are cool people are people! thats what makes the world go round ya know..but jus be cautious and YES i hav met one of my besties offline he lives in florida and has came to cali..we still tight and on each others myspaces-i agree wit both ur videos and hey ppl are goin to judge the unfamilar or jus judge bcuz they have nothing better to do..so like ii tell everyone JUST DO U, THE WORLD WILL CATCH UP LATER =]
well said, dari! this vid will probably help with telling my mom about the collab channel i'm in because she is way over-protective about these kinds of things.
I think it's a person opinion on what a person thinks about the internet; just like religion. If a person feel comfortable being social on the internet, talking, chatting, making friends, etc. that's their decision.
Now, I do believe that a person should also be able to communicate outside of the web and make friends by other social networking; like school, job, etc. The only concern that I have is limiting yourself from growing with other social activities. It can be socially crippling.
I would have friends on the internet that I watch on youtube or see somewhere. Not just a random person that adds me just because I'm pretty (So they say). And yeah!!! I don't talk to ppl for sexual reasons! And true, crazy people are everywhere. Not just on the internet. These are just typical internet stereotypes.
Well I totally agree with you. AND some guy I added on facebook just to add started acting crazy and commented on all my pics. Talking about your my sugar your sweet. And some other guy I added we mess around a lot and are cool. So I guess its a 50%chance of pyscho! haha :)
I'm currently in love with a girl I met off the internet...Well kinda...See she knows a lot of my friends in real life...We started talking on the phone and here we are months later happy together
LMAO this video is awesome you were on a roll with this debate. but i agree with you on a lot of points, its easier to talk to people on the internet than real life, maybe cuz it eliminates the awkwardness.. no idea but i realized the internet was controlling my life for a while so i had to distance myself LOL and here i am now.
I have met several people online that are friends and I have dated a few too. One ended up being a 2 year relationship. I have even met fellow school mates online that I didn't know went to my school but came across a profile and saw we both attended. I haven't had a neg. experience yet b/c in real life I observe pple and their behavior. So it helps out when online b/c I can weed out creeps and freaks better. Everyone's a stranger until you talk to them and get to know each other IRL or online.
I met someone from the internet and we started a very successful business together. I remember my parents freaking out about me meeting up with a white guy in his 40's. Me being in my 20's. But I met him at Disneyland and it all worked out.
And for the record, I've been told that I am full of unicorns and fairy dust.
. I have 2 best friends that i found on the internet. Alot people think that just perverts use the internet to meet people but thats wrong. Although i have meet lots of them but how hard is it to block someone or just stop talking to them i mean GOSH! There are good ppl who are probably just bored like u and just want to talk. Not everyone use the net for sex. So to me its cool to meet people on the internet but BE SMART.
I met my best friend of the last 4-5 years over the internet on a forum website. We just started talking one day over a common interest and got really close. We talk on AIM and in TXTs every day. I'm honestly closer to her than I am to people I've known just as long IRL, and I hope to get to go visit her some time soon.
People need to get over their issues and realize that talking to people online is the same as going up to a person you've never met before at a party.
me and my husband meet on the internet and ppl always judge because of it and we been together for almost 3 years know he lived in nj and i lived fl i just hate how ppl judge ppl online
Man looks like you had that all bottled up inside for a while. I think you are very right on the topics you raised, couldn't have said it any better. I'm gonna link these in my FB profile.
i think i can agree with most of it but i mean you also have to realize that the more youre on the internet the more you tend to get disconnected from the real world, i mean at least thats true for most people. some cant juggle two worlds like that. like in my case ive noticed ill spend a few hours on myspace so to make up for it i go out all the time. i socialize a lot, aand i think if u use thhe internet as much as u socialize then youre straight, ur not a wierdo hahah yea but anyways
This was a very good video. I gave it 5-stars. You can have healthy internet relationships, it starts with you. Just like in the real world. We all know people in unhealthy relationships outside of the internet, yet no one is saying "Careful meeting someone at school or work, they maybe crazy". The internet is no different. Sometimes I wish I could take some of the people I first meet in person & talk with them on the internet for 3 months before meeting up with them again. Can I get an Amen?
me and my girl met on the internet and we were friends for a good 6 months i guess but now we love each other more than anything in the world becuz it takes patience and the actual wanting of a relationship and happiness to put yourself through that for somebody plus it brings another bond that sometimes a face to face relaitonship cant offer in the beginning
...that's why I don't tell people that I know people from YouTube or I've met awesome friends online
I think the concept of Internet friends vs. real life friends is quite abstract. At what point does an Internet friend become more than just a social networking acquaintance? If you have an Internet friend that you talk to on a personal level daily, shouldn't that become part of your real life even though the relationship was founded on the Internet? The lines keep getting fuzzier and fuzzier.
this guy from myspace started talking to me like 3 years ago and at first i was like ehh...he's weird and the fact that i'm talking to some random dude from myspace is weird, but then we started talking to each other all the time and now we tell each other everything and we're really close and he's taking me to my prom! yay!
Imma tell you ok? You listenin' imma tell you, I met my current boyfriend on the internet [omgeharmonylulul] not really, but we talked for 3 months before I went and met him, this was 3 years ago and for a minute we had a long distance relationship but it worked, and our relationship is still solid, I feel like the internet requires more effort and care. Like you actually have to want to get to know someone if you want it to work online, friendship or whatever else.
I moved to NY from Alabama of all place 3 years ago and I made friends via the internet before I moved here and they are awesome... they helped me get around the city and learn new things. Internet is Awesome!!
everything you said was strong points but see I try to look at everything from both sides so if these people that your referring to have a genuine love for your safety then I guess I can understand their concern because the negative points you made about it was also strong points I could imagine if I had a daughter the things I would say to her and the thing I would imagine in my head so it goes both ways for every GOOD PERSON THERE IS A BAD PERSON AND THIS IS LIFE
well said dari. very well said! i might use this on my mom so she finally believes my internet friends aren't predators or paedophiles.
i have online friends and i met a guy irl and it worked out ok at the time, we don't really talk anymore but w/e. i'm actually contemplating meeting my best online friend next year. fingers crossed i get the money together for it.
I appreciate your honesty... Why don't you wanna know if people in real life watch your vids? I kinda feel the same sometimes...& Do you act the same outside of the internet or are you more of an introvert?
because i would like to keep it separate without worrying about people in my rel life judging me on things i say on here. plus it's just really weird to me =/
i think i'm more of an introvert outside of this. unless i'm comfortable in the environment then i can be an extrovert? it's hard to say!
they are creepy people in my shower lol

I've met several great friends on the internet that I've known for years.
I don't go on with goals of meeting the love of my life.

about the talking to ppl thing, my school has this camp for freshmen the summer b4 they enter, and its 3 days
basically noone knows anybody and they split us into groups of about 10 called "families" and by the 2nd day everyone opened up to their family
its b/c these strangers have nothing to judge you on since they dont know you, so what you tell them is what they know and everything is unbiased
but with ppl you know already have things to judge you on so you dont say shit to them

I've been meeting people "from the internet" for about 15 years. Sure, I've had a few bad experiences here and there, but they were emotionally bad, not like I got raped in the butthole or killed and thrown in a gutter.

Also, my current partner I met online.

I have met some major creepers online. People message me or comment me saying weird things. But I think for the most part I meet completely normal people just like you and me. my internet friends are so very close to me. I met them all here on YouTube through making videos and we are all going to meet up very soon. But they have been there for me more than other real life friends have been in all the years put together. I live in the south, and I'm gay. There isn't a lot of options for someone like me. The internet is both good and bad. You just have to use it wisely.

I met my best friend of the last 4-5 years over the internet on a forum website. We just started talking one day over a common interest and got really close. We talk on AIM and in TXTs every day. I'm honestly closer to her than I am to people I've known just as long IRL, and I hope to get to go visit her some time soon.
People need to get over their issues and realize that talking to people online is the same as going up to a person you've never met before at a party.

i think i can agree with most of it but i mean you also have to realize that the more youre on the internet the more you tend to get disconnected from the real world, i mean at least thats true for most people. some cant juggle two worlds like that. like in my case ive noticed ill spend a few hours on myspace so to make up for it i go out all the time. i socialize a lot, aand i think if u use thhe internet as much as u socialize then youre straight, ur not a wierdo hahah yea but anyways

The lines keep getting fuzzier and fuzzier.

everything you said was strong points but see I try to look at everything from both sides so if these people that your referring to have a genuine love for your safety then I guess I can understand their concern because the negative points you made about it was also strong points I could imagine if I had a daughter the things I would say to her and the thing I would imagine in my head so it goes both ways for every GOOD PERSON THERE IS A BAD PERSON AND THIS IS LIFE
