  • Steer right, roll back. Sorted.

    Or left and keep going.

Learning is fun though and if I'd been watching this I'd have tempted to laugh rather than give actual advice!

  • Yorkshire puddings. I grew up in Halifax, right down 't road from there.

  • What is it with the kamakazi bikers in all these clips? They may be made of aluminum, but I bet it still hurts like hell to hit a land rover!

  • are you rich or something ive seen you ruin a disco and youv got a defender whats going on

  • I'd have shit myself!

  • hmm throw it in neutrel?

  • were abouts is this you sound local lol

  • This is at the Flappits, Denholme, and yes, your right, we're the local nutcases!!!

  • Just good ol' fun. Thank for lettin us watch

  • that hill is STEEP!

he rolled backwards after trying to get up, used his brakes and locked the front wheels, and came down sidewards, a scary moment for Tom, a bloody good laff for us!

  • But think about it frank as long as the difflocks in and you dont dip the clutch then you cant lock the wheels without stalling the engine(well, technically you could lock one). The cadence braking is just to relieve the drive train of some strain because if your wheels start bouncing then as they land and get traction they load the drivetrain with a lot of strain but if you dab the brakes you can absorb some of the shock.

  • Mmmm,i think your theory would only really work if the vehicle was going down the hill forwards, in reverse on such a steep incline any braking will tend to "unload" the wheels that are doing the steering, causing them to lock, this is compounded by the fact the braking system is biased towards the front wheels, great when your going forwards, but exactly the opposite when your going backwards!

  • My theory lol. Thats official law! you cant lock them without stalling the engine.

  • Aaaah, yes, but didn't you stall the engine? c'mon Tom, be honest, just admit it!

  • Cant remember stalling it but may have done i suppose. We shall try all this out at flappits, I will be your Off Road Yoda.

  • omg i think th dog was laffin aswell !

  • No Max, the dog was just explaining what i've just told tom above!!
