I live 6mo in Indian every year.When I'm in India they have the same reaction to me except there is a language barrier so mostly I get lots of grabbing by Aunties and little kids who are curious about my white skin.After 6 months of it I'm exhausted and sometimes frustrated at the million questions that make you say "REALLY!?". But it's all about the human connection,they're trying to connect and it makes me happy LOL.At least you get questions in a language you're fluent in;)

I live in sweden and our heating system at my school broke down, the arab and african kids were walking around in full snow gear and they were still complaining of the cold while the white kids were walking around in pants and a t shirt like the cold didn't affect them at all.

I've never asked my best friend if I could see her hair but she has comb her hair in front of me at school. Yes, I wasn't use to seeing her hair down but she looked amazingly beautiful and I've complement her. being made fun of at school because your shoes are old is hurtful n no one has a monopoly on discrimination. but i notice that a lot of white people ignore racism if they think they were oppressed. i used to do this as a white person, until i took a class on critical race theory and my professor pointed out that doing that is total bullshit. now i own my whiteness. my experiences with discrimination don't make me unwhite n they sure as hell don't mean that other people's experiences are invalid.

PLUS, when I'm there Indians try to say my name they can't..they try...and still can't...some just start laughing hysterically and keep trying. I will at that point. start laughing too with the Indian head wobble and tell them my adopted INDIAN name instead. If they didn't CARE then they wouldn't keep trying to say my name. LOL. It didn't offend me I just got an easier name :) Also having them say "people" is kinda funny too. They have no P sound only B so it comes out "beeble". I live 6mo in Indian every year.When I'm in India they have the same reaction to me except there is a language barrier so mostly I get lots of grabbing by Aunties and little kids who are curious about my white skin.After 6 months of it I'm exhausted and sometimes frustrated at the million questions that make you say "REALLY!?". But it's all about the human connection,they're trying to connect and it makes me happy LOL.At least you get questions in a language you're fluent in;)

It's funny that all caramel or lighter races are considered 'white'. Are all darker than mocha ethnic backgrounds considered 'black'. I am really tanned looking yet I am of Anglo Saxon descent.
