Don't forget the trinity. Basically god impregnated Mary (as the holy ghost) in order to give birth to himself (as Jesus), so that he can let himself be tortured and killed to please himself. Isn't that strange? Or should I say masochistic or sadistic depending on perspective.
Yeah, that's right. I am currently working on a project which I call "The Bible reloaded" where I as an atheist read the bible from beginning to end and comment it. It is so funny and absolutely not understandable that anyone with a hint of reason in his head can believe this crap!
We all recognize the level of suffering in the world today, Now since it would appear to many that God is asleep at the wheel.
If we just remove the concept, worship and tolerance for religion in the world.
A prohibition of "GOD" starting in 2010 how long will it take for the Utopian world that religion seems to be depriving us of, to resurface and restore the equilibrium of the planet and it population?
Without digressing from the topic "Is God Good" and your response, you do have a "choice" reject his offer! How more 'good' is that? If I say there is a out of control car spiraling towards you from behind, and there is no time to look just move, You choose not to take my advice , and are run over and killed; does that make me a cruel person, am I to blame. You occupy a finite space, have a finite perception of the 'All' and you question an infinite God who has full knowledge. (cont.)
God does affirm to you in 1 Cor 13:9-10 That the reason for suffering will be made known to you. If God were a finite entity perched on Mount Zion, professing a gospel of love, while biting the heads off infant sacrifices. Then I would agree God is not good, but God is infinite and his ways are unknowable to man, simply because man is incapable of grasping the full nature of God.
God clearly states his position to Job in chapter 38:2 Who is this that darkeneth counsel by words without knowledge? Look at the world, look at the trail of carnage, suffering, oppression and greed. What percentage of it is attributed to God, and what percentage to man?
And don't counter with a rebuttal of man using 'religion' to oppress, but God actually commanding suffering, commanding cruelty. People are quick to condemn God for actions that were the works of evil men, "In the name of God" why does God allow it, If he did not, then you would most likely rally against him for denying you the right to free will.
If God 'IS' a construct of man's making. Then it should not be a difficult choice; God is not good therefore I reject God. If God does exist, you also have a choice; God is not good therefore I reject God. One carries a penalty, one does not. You are given a choice, reject God and subject yourself to suffering, or reject God and accept your role as part of the machine that perpetuates suffering in the world.
They have to sell the concept of sin. A man made concept. Why would god have to kill himself? It's ridiculous. They do have to accept the whole thing 'as a child.'
Beer! Now that is something we all can agree is good!
I did a response video to this one. I hope you check it out. You raise many points that I have thought about many, many times. You made me think. And that is always a good thing. I really hope to hear more form you on this issue. I am almost right there with you. But I can not shake myself of the ideals that I was rasied with. It's almost a catch-22.
The fundamental problem is that we have an ancient concept of God in a modern world. We use modern science with the exception of a handful of creationists and flat earthers. But, we are too often wedded to an ancient concept of God. If we recognize that these ancient concepts of God are part of our shared history (like slavery), but not appropriate today. We can go on to develop newer and more relevant concepts.
Very good response. Thank you for this. I am reading a book that posits that suffering leads to greater good. More to the point, the suffering of man lead to his great good. Perhaps I will discuss this in another video. But, again, thank you very much for this video.
But who designed the universe in such a way that suffering leads to greater good? If god is the omnipotent creator of everything, he didn't have to make it this way.
I look forward to more of your videos, & might do another response or two. I meant to respond ages ago on another subject of mutual interest : beer!
The "car spinning out of control" analogy doesn't make sense. Omnipotence can intervene - in the matter. And please don't say Jesus was the intervention - that's yet another discussion.
Why did he die for three days? Why not eternity? Seems like a small price to pay to save the eternal souls of all humanity.

It sounds a bit like the winner of a "Who can invent the silliest religion" competition.
